November Check In 2010

They keep showing up and then disapearing, very odd. I did manage to get a couple of days printed before they dropped off the site again, just to show my mom so she can get even more excited :)

Does anyone know if you can call to get the hours of events and such for November dates (specifically, 11/10-14?) I only got to them once online, and now they are gone. We are on a tight schedule, and want to make sure I make meal reservations at the right times, so that we don't miss anything...

It's getting closer:banana::banana::banana: I have another question for seasoned Christmas time DISers. In New Orleans square there are jazz bands that frequent the area. One of them is (was) Bayou Brass, my dad bought their christmas cd many moons ago. I would like to know if that band is still playing at Disneyland.

Hey November trip planners!!!

I have Halloween maps! Please see the link at the bottom of my signature, as that thread is mine and has photos of the covers, I also have others available also!! You still have time to get your maps!! They are nice, clean, wrinkle an slobber free!

Just ordered my 4-day Park Hoppers.

Did you go through Disney or elsewhere?

I'm holding off on buying tickets because I'm still trying to decide how many days I'll be at the park AND I know people who work there and may be able to sign me in (at least 3 different employees, so that might be 3 free days!

I had the great idea of inviting my husband's friends and their families to a character breakfast to catch up and introduce them to our baby. We haven't seen some of them in years and instead of seeing each family individually for at least a couple hours this will make it possible for everyone to see each other and limit our time to a few hours. Now I just have to decide - Goofy's Kitchen or Storytellers Cafe. There will be 6 sets of parents invited and at least 9 kids ranging in age from 14 to 1. Any suggestions?

Just got our hotel. We are staying at Carousel Inn (unless some better price come in the next few weeks for the onsite hotels).

Bought through TicketsAtWork.com, which is one of the benefits of working for a large corporation. $184 each.

Have you ever had trouble ordering tickets through them? I read some negative reviews, so I wasn't sure if I should go ahead with my order....but the discount is so good!

I would probably go with Goofy's as I think they may have an easier time setting up tables in the same area for your group. I had 25 of us one time for an early dinner at Goofy's with ages from infants to 70 yr old.

I really do need to stop missing days around here! I miss out on all the fun! Plus it does make it a little trickier getting everything caught back up. I guess I will just have to try harder to check in and stay on top of things!
Sooooo......

The VGC rooms are located on the wing running along the DCA fence so you may get a room with a view of WOC, but it's just the luck of the draw at check in. We had a park view last year that was really cool.
I hope you get lucky and snag another park view!

I just found this thread!!!

We are going to be there Nov 10th-17th staying at Travelodge Anaheim International Inn. There will be 15 of us!!! (DH, me, DSIL (Kim), her DH and 2 children [5 and 18 mos], DSIL (Christy), her DH and 2 children [5 and 25 months] and DSis, her DH and 3 children [7,5 and 23 mos]. It is going to be a lot of fun with all of those kids.....and a bit tiring!!! We are surprising DSis's kids who think they have to wait until the 5 y.o. turns 6 next Spring before we will take them again.
Welcome! I've added you to the happy travelers list. My word! That has got to be one of the biggest groups I have ever heard of heading to the park together! You are a very brave soul! Bet you will all have a blast and will indeed be tuckered out at the end of the day. Great surprise! The kids will love it!

Ok you guys....I need a little help trying to get the timing of a few things down.

We know we want to do the AG WOC dinner, as well as the Fantasmic dessert box thing. We are planning on eating pretty much around 6:00 each night. Both WOC and F! reservations can't be made until 30 days prior, correct?

If we are there between Nov 25th and Dec 5th, what time should we schedule our AG dinner, and will a 6:00 dinner conflict with Fantasmic?

Thanks so much! Getting closer!! :woohoo:
Oh man! I am going to have to miss a chance to show off my Disneyland expertise! Having missed last year I am a little off my game and feeling a bit out of the loop on my planning strategies. Guess I will have to remedy that and get back to restoring all the Disney knowledge I used to have.
I do know that the WOC ressies can be made at 60 days because I called and made mine for WCT on Nov. 19th. We are doing the first show and have reservations for 6:00. The cm told me I should line up by 7:45 and they let people in at 8:00 for the 9:00 show. I really want my DD to be able to see so I am betting in order to get a front row spot I should probably go even earlier than what he said. On the other hand, I really don't want to spend the majority of the evening standing in line no matter how bad I want to see the show. I guess a lot will depend on how long I can convince the rest of my bunch to stand in line.
Oh yeah, if you do the first Fantasmic showing don't forget that you can stay in your seats to watch the fireworks. It's not the same as sitting front and center at the castle BUT you already have reserved seats and the view is really quite lovely reflecting off of the ROA and over the Mark Twain. AND, you may be able to get to experience the snow in Disneyland!

i have hit the 50 mark today HOORAY!!!!
except i am getting frustrated with the disneyland.com calendar they are up to the 10th my first day in the parks is the 11th sooooo want to know the hours.... not that it matters just want to know
Right there with you since we arrive on the same day! I saw that the calendar was acting crazy. Hopefully they will quite teasing us soon and settle on some hours for us!

I know! I feel the same way. Hopefully, the dates will be up soon.
I bet a lot of us around here are running through a similar range of emotions. All ready for those dates and all ready for November to hurry up and get here!

Fantasmic is 30 days, but Ariel's Grotto WOC dinner can be reserved 2 months out. I made my reservation for Nov 12 on Sept 12. :)
You will be there the week before me. Maybe you will have some pointers to share with the rest of us after you see the show.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites and have decided to come in a day earlier than we originally planned (11/11 - 11/14). It will be me, DH, DD (8) and DS (5).
Nothing like adding a day! We added a few ourselves. I'll get you updated.

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know if we should be able to fit in a 6:00 dinner PS and still catch F! Or should we plan on skipping dinner and just heading to F?

Thanks!
When we did the PS for Fantasmic in November 2008 I got in line for check in at about 7:30 for the 9:00 show. Unless things have changed I would say that would be about the right time to be sure you are through with your meal.

The website has updated the park hours through November 16th. :cheer2:
It was nice while it lasted.... ever so briefly.... :confused3

They keep showing up and then disapearing, very odd. I did manage to get a couple of days printed before they dropped off the site again, just to show my mom so she can get even more excited :)
I bet it is really fun to see your mom get excited. Wish my mom where still around so I could take her to Disneyland with us.

I know I just went back to print out the info and now its gone.
POOF! I think it is a Disney calendar specialty to keep us in suspense!

This keeps happening to me too.:confused3
We're all confused right along with you!

we are going Nov 12th to 14th for DD's bday.
Not sure yet where we are staying. Can't make up my mind LOL

Looking to do Mickey and Minnie's breakfast for DD's bday. Those who have done it how was it?
Oh goodie! Another one to add! Hope your DD enjoys her special day in the park! Are you thinking of the breakfast at Paradise Pier or the one at Plaza Inn? We haven't done the new one at PP. We did go there when it was Lilo & Stitch and it was fun with a nice buffet. It has been a few years since we did the one at Plaza Inn. Lots of food and plenty of characters for sure.

Okay, it's official. I'm going in November! Having just gotten back from our Labor Day weekend trip, I felt like posting too early that I was going back so soon would jinx the experience, but everything is pretty much in place now. I'll be there November 3-7 and I'll be staying at HOJO's this time (finally get to check it out!). I'll be there for a conference, so I'll mostly have just the evenings to spend in the park, but I'm hoping I can cut through the GCH and through DTD during breaks or lunch to catch one ride or at least grab a fastpass. We'll see! I'll just be happy to wander aimlessly and soak in the atmosphere.

I'll be going to a special dessert event on the evening of November 4th at DCA. It looks like it mostly takes place in the Animation Studio (which I love). It was somewhat pricey, so I'm interested to see if they do anything beyond just the regular Turtle Talk, Drawing, and tour of the Beast's Library.

I think I'll probably pre-order a picnic for WOC for the first night I'm there. We did this over Labor Day weekend and now that I have a better feel for the lay of the land, I think it will be easier to get a good spot. I'm looking forward to seeing the calendar fill out soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that RDCT shows on Friday and Saturday night. I'm kind of bummed that the park seems to be open only until 11:00 on Friday and Saturday since I'm limited to just evening hours, but that must mean there expecting pretty small crowds.
Congratulations on the return trip! Glad you will get to squeeze in a bit more fun in your conference schedule. Soaking up atmosphere always works for me! The dessert party sounds like fun. Hope you get time enough to do all the things you want.

Can you tell the rest of us where the good spot might be for WOC with picnic.:thumbsup2
Yes, yes! Inquiring minds want to know!

I am going to make my WOC dinner reservations today! I'm still trying to decide between AG and WCT though. Even though they haven't announced a WOC schedule, I think I will make our reservations for 6ish and that should work for us.
Did you get your ressies made? Which one did you go with? We will be doing WCT. DD had already requested the Princess meal so I figured there was no point in doing Ariel's twice on our trip. We have also never been to WCT so I thought we might as well give it a try. I had trouble making up my mind in the beginning but I finally started reading some positive reviews lately for WCT so that helped a lot. Anyway, our ressie is at 6:00 too.

Does anyone know if you can call to get the hours of events and such for November dates (specifically, 11/10-14?) I only got to them once online, and now they are gone. We are on a tight schedule, and want to make sure I make meal reservations at the right times, so that we don't miss anything...
I hope you finally got the calendar to cooperate!

One of them is (was) Bayou Brass, my dad bought their christmas cd many moons ago. I would like to know if that band is still playing at Disneyland.
So much closer! I know there are several great bands in DL but I am not sure about that one. I did not see them listed on the current entertainment schedule but I suppose the best thing to do would to be ask at City Hall when you arrive at the park.

I wrote them down really quickly:

Another good place for tickets is Getawaytoday.com. They usually have some good prices.
Well now. Goofy's is no doubt great for the kids. Lots of characters. Being a buffet you do have to get up and down to serve yourself. Storytellers, IMHO, was much quieter and you had the option of ordering off a menu but they do not offer nearly as many characters. Either will be a great choice!

Just got our hotel. We are staying at Carousel Inn (unless some better price come in the next few weeks for the onsite hotels).
Never stayed there but have always thought it looked like a good second choice for us. It's very close to the park so I know you will love that part! You'll have to let us know how you like your stay when you are done.

Bought through TicketsAtWork.com, which is one of the benefits of working for a large corporation. $184 each.

WOW! That must have been some tab! I just thought blyday had a bunch with 15 but she didn't even get close to your group! Pretty cool to be able to get that many folks together at the same time. :thumbsup2

With the calendar coming and going it is really hard at this point to imagine it being completely reliable. I just hope they get it straight before some of us head out on our trips!

Hello all, i, too, have been monitoring the park calender. They have events scheduled for the weekends and only hours posted durning the week (lame-o)!

If anyone is curious, I posted my very first thread on the trip reports thread. Look for November 23-27, family of four. Tell me what you think and leave suggestions for improvement please :surfweb:
