So, this isn't really Disney related, but I know we have a lot of road-trippers here. Bed Bath and Beyond is selling pillow pets. These are not knock offs, they are the ones you see on TV for $20, but you don't have to pay for shipping. When I went to my local store, they had the puppy, bee, lady bug, and unicorn. My kids LOVE theirs and play with them on a daily basis. They came in very handy on a four hour trip to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Have you ever had trouble ordering tickets through them? I read some negative reviews, so I wasn't sure if I should go ahead with my order....but the discount is so good!

I used them last year with no problems. I will let you know if I have any issues.

Disney november dates are showing up now. They have fixed it.

Hello all, i, too, have been monitoring the park calender. They have events scheduled for the weekends and only hours posted durning the week (lame-o)!

Once again, no events seem to be showing up on the calendar, even for the weekend. If anyone happens to see them when they're up for the 5th or 6th, would you look to see if fireworks are showing and, if so, which fireworks they'll be? Last year during this time, there were no fireworks, but I'm really hoping that since they're running RDCT as the fireworks show in between the Halloween fireworks, that they'll keep it running until the Holiday fireworks begin.

Was excited just had to post this - i this morning booked tickets to the Ducks v Islanders game at Honda Centre!! This will be our 2nd NHL game - saw one in Boston last year....

Any suggestions on how to get from HoJo's to Honda Centre was thinking a cab?

Oh goodie! Another one to add! Hope your DD enjoys her special day in the park! Are you thinking of the breakfast at Paradise Pier or the one at Plaza Inn? We haven't done the new one at PP. We did go there when it was Lilo & Stitch and it was fun with a nice buffet. It has been a few years since we did the one at Plaza Inn. Lots of food and plenty of characters for sure.

I was thinking of Plaza Inn. We have done Goofy's kitchen and Storybook Cafe. We liked them both.
I would like to be able to get her the most characters on her actualy bday, so if Plaza Inn is it, then that's what we will do.

Sorry no trip report. We did this in Nov 2005 for DL 50th. We picked the dates almost a year in advance so everyone could plan around it. I shopped around to get hotel prices and passed on the info so everyone could make their own arrangements. Getawaytoday ended up having the best prices for the Grand Californian so most of us used them. All were free to do whatever they wanted and I set up the one dinner at Goofy's' one night Fantasmic Desert seating and a meet at the Castle for a family picture. Our ages were all over the place so everyone went at their own pace, but it was amazing how often you ran into someone in the family. Our evenings were spent visiting in the lobby of the Grand Californian. I think our younger adult set ended up closing the Lost Bar on one night. My advice is don't try to over plan it as it's hard to get everyone to agree on what they want to do and don't sweat the small stuff as no one enjoys alot of drama. Good luck and have fun!

I've also had 20 of us on a 4 night Disney cruise last Nov. Some of us did WDW before and after the cruise and some just did the cruise.

Looks like the calendar may be finally settling down for us. All the way up to 10th now. Can't wait until we get some more ideas of what's happening on our Thanksgiving week! I tried calling today for reservations but they said they would begin taking them on Monday. Looks like I will be hitting the phone lines bright and early that day. Have you some plans in mind for your Thanksgiving day?

Those pillow pets are so cute. Never hurts to mention goodies like that just in case someone needs a new idea to add to their travel gear. We have a designated bag loaded with stuff just to keep my DD entertained on the plane. Also, last year I picked up a small poodle backpack that my DD wore all around the park. She is already talking about it making sure that I don't forget to bring it this year.

I used them last year with no problems. I will let you know if I have any issues.

Isn't the DIS fantastic for finding info to help you out in whatever subject you need?!!! How many places could you run across people with first hand experience to share when it comes to taking large groups? 35-40 next time! Sounds like any ideas will come in handy! I do hope you get to recruit some help and don't end up having to handle everything all by yourself.

I was thinking of Plaza Inn. We have done Goofy's kitchen and Storybook Cafe. We liked them both.

Well since you have done the others Plaza Inn's character breakfast should be a great choice. When we went a few years back we saw the regulars.... Minnie, Chip and Dale, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Pluto AND we also were lucky enough to see some not quite as common characters, Captain Hook, Brer Bear and Brer Fox. Of course, I can't guarantee who will be there but it was an impressive assortment to say the least.

Ooooh the 50th was a good year to go! Of course, when is it not? Sounds like you did a great job organizing and definitely had the right attitude of not overplanning and leaving things open enough for everyone to do their own thing.

I do not come from a large family and my own small bunch tends to be homebodies more often than not. Big groups are not our specialty but for the sake of my son we have taken extra guests with us to DL most of the time for the past 4 years. I think when we take extra people with us I worry so much about them having a good time that I end up stressing out myself. This year it will be just my family. No extra friends. It is going to be a relaxing trip for sure! Friends are fun but IMHO every now and then it is nice to just enjoy my own family.

I also had a PM request to add dreamerliz to our illustrious list! She will be joining us in Disneyland on Nov 3 to 8th staying at the GC & Hilton Anaheim. Got your info added to the list!

Well, to my surprise, the e-tickets didn't arrive in my email after 48 hours, so I sent an inquiry to TicketsAtWork. Got a response back that the e-tickets were sent to the same email address that my inquiry had come from but that they'd resend them. Still haven't arrived so I gave them my work email to send them to. If that doesn't work, they say that they can also be faxed, but I'd much rather have the PDF. It is strange because it is the same email address which they arrived via last year. I think I'd be more likely to put the blame on MSN than on TicketsAtWork, for the time being at least.

We're going to Disneyland for a few days before we leave on our Panama Canal cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our Disneyland dates are Nov 15-20. We're staying at DLH.

I've got a quick question regarding special celebrations...I honestly didn't think about it until this morning. My DD and I are heading to Disneyland on our annual mother/daughter trip. Her birthday is actually two weeks earlier. Do you suppose I could get her a birthday pin - or is that wrong? It might make her trip a little more extra special, but I don't want to bring bad karma to us if it is frowned upon because she isn't celebrating her birthday while we are there...

Soooooo exited Just booked our PS's for our trip. I also asked for park hours for the duration of our trip since they weren't posted. Our dates in the park are the 23-26 ( that's the day before Thanksgiving, day of, and day after). For all three days the hours are 8am-12am for Disneyland park and 10am-10am for California Adventure park. There will be 2 showing of WOC all three days. I didn't ask about fantasmic because it didn't pertain to our dinning. Morning magic on Thanksgiving day.

We booked a Plaza Inn breakfast on the 24th @ 8:30. that will give us time to get pictures with Donold Duck if he is out that morning. We've been every year for the last 7 years durning different seasons and we always miss him. We also booked an Ariels Grotto WOC dinner, 1st show. In case you were wondering, if you have a little ones under 3, you won't need a pass for WOC.

My sister wore a b-day button in July, her b-day is in June. I'm gonna ware one, my b-day is in October. My daughter is gonna ware one, her b-day is in December. They aren't gonna make you bust out with your ID to proove it's your b-day. Their policy is if you're celebrating, they're celebrating.

I totally need to take a minute (or a few ) to read back, but we're going November 15-19 and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. This trip it's just me and my sister. It's her first trip to Disneyland EVER, so I'm excited I need to find the part hours for our trip - I was having problems booking breakfast times (nothing seems to open before 10 a.m.!!).

I can't wait and I'm crossing my fingers that the Holiday Tour has started by the time we arrive as I would love to do that. I've never been around Christmas, so I am so excited - can't wait!

We loved the Panama Canal cruise that we did. It went from Long Beach, Ca to Miami, FL. We are looking at doing another one in Dec. 2011 form FL to Ca.

I am sure glad you ordered well enough in advance to get it all straightened out before you were already supposed to be on your trip. I do realize mistakes happen but it is so much nicer when everything goes smoothly.

We're going to Disneyland for a few days before we leave on our Panama Canal cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our Disneyland dates are Nov 15-20. We're staying at DLH.

Boy, we have got a traveling bunch around here on the DIS! I'm doing good if I get in one trip a year anywhere. Maybe by my 25th I will have earned a another trip too. I won't be holding my breath. Lucky you! I hope you enjoy your cruise and make it to another 25!

I've got a quick question regarding special celebrations...I honestly didn't think about it until this morning. My DD and I are heading to Disneyland on our annual mother/daughter trip. Her birthday is actually two weeks earlier. Do you suppose I could get her a birthday pin - or is that wrong? It might make her trip a little more extra special, but I don't want to bring bad karma to us if it is frowned upon because she isn't celebrating her birthday while we are there...

I find it very sweet that you are worrying about this so much. It speaks volumes and shows what an honest person you must be! However, honestly, if you are going on the trip to celebrate her birthday I wouldn't worry about it being on the exact day. People have birthday parties all the time on days that are more convenient so why should a DL trip have to be any different? The birthday buttons are free and they probably have a gazillion of them. She might get some birthday salutations from wearing it and maybe possibly a special treat when you dine which might be a lot of fun for her but won't be putting Disney out by any means. If you could be there on the exact day I am sure you would but since you can't just go with it and enjoy!

Soooooo exited Just booked our PS's for our trip. I also asked for park hours for the duration of our trip since they weren't posted. Our dates in the park are the 23-26 ( that's the day before Thanksgiving, day of, and day after). For all three days the hours are 8am-12am for Disneyland park and 10am-10am for California Adventure park. There will be 2 showing of WOC all three days. I didn't ask about fantasmic because it didn't pertain to our dinning. Morning magic on Thanksgiving day.

We booked a Plaza Inn breakfast on the 24th @ 8:30. that will give us time to get pictures with Donold Duck if he is out that morning. We've been every year for the last 7 years durning different seasons and we always miss him. We also booked an Ariels Grotto WOC dinner, 1st show. In case you were wondering, if you have a little ones under 3, you won't need a pass for WOC.

It is so much fun to get those reservations made! Congratulations! Did they let you make ressies for Thanksgiving Day? I am going to be very annoyed if they did because I was told I had to wait until Monday. Thanks for the update on the hours. I can plug that into my info!
Plaza Inn is a good choice! Lots if food and lots of characters. We won't be making it for breakfast this year. My boys love PI's chicken so it's better for us to wait for lunch. Unfortunately, we miss all the characters that way. That Donald is a hard one to snag! I think we have only seen him a couple times in the 9 years we have been going. Good luck finding him!
Have fun at the WOC! We'll be going too but a few days earlier. I hope it goes smoothly and is a great show. I am a little concerned about getting to a spot where my DD can see. It would be a real bummer for her to have to stare at someone's backside for the whole show. Guess I'll just cross my fingers!

My sister wore a b-day button in July, her b-day is in June. I'm gonna ware one, my b-day is in October. My daughter is gonna ware one, her b-day is in December. They aren't gonna make you bust out with your ID to proove it's your b-day. Their policy is if you're celebrating, they're celebrating.

I totally need to take a minute (or a few ) to read back, but we're going November 15-19 and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. This trip it's just me and my sister. It's her first trip to Disneyland EVER, so I'm excited I need to find the part hours for our trip - I was having problems booking breakfast times (nothing seems to open before 10 a.m.!!).

I can't wait and I'm crossing my fingers that the Holiday Tour has started by the time we arrive as I would love to do that. I've never been around Christmas, so I am so excited - can't wait!

A sister trip! How fun! And it will be even more special to show her around the park for her first time. I would hope the park hours should be coming out next week. Seems like some of the character meals at least would open before 10:00. Or, maybe Carnation Cafe? I wish I could help more but we never eat breakfast in the park.
I think the holiday tour should be available by the 12th since that is the official beginning of the holiday season. It's a nice tour. And, Christmas time in the park is simply magical.

We loved the Panama Canal cruise that we did. It went from Long Beach, Ca to Miami, FL. We are looking at doing another one in Dec. 2011 form FL to Ca.

It is our second best. Alaska is our first pick for cruises.

Sounds like fun! Ah, another positive vote for an Alaskan cruise! I wish we had gone on one when my mother was living up there. Maybe we will get another chance someday....

Ha - my 40th birthday was back in July, but I hate crowds and heat so I scheduled my birthday celebration trip for November. I will definitely be wearing a birthday button!

Mine, is in July too. I am with you. As much as I love DL I would much rather be at the park some other cooler time. November is just about right!
