Oh my, it appears we are having a change of plans. We found an incredible deal at the Disneyland Hotel and are going to stay there instead of the Desert Inn & Suites. We're pretty excited because we have never stayed on-site.

Well, for eight nights at Desert Inn, it would be about 1000. Just for fun, I checked the same dates at Disneyland Hotel and found it for 1468! Since after a dozen visits I've never stayed on site, we decided to go for it! I'm really, really happy and trying to figure out how I'm going to sleep tonight because it's all I can think about!

I've never stayed there either but it would probably be my first choice if we were to ever stay in a Disney hotel. You'll have to let us know how you like it! I hope you have a fabulous time! Hope you manage to get some sleep too!

YAY!!! Tell me more though!!! We are staying at Ho Jo's with the entertainment rate for most of our visit.....

Bet you will be happy with either choice. The Hojo comes highly rated around here!

We will be there 11/21-11/23. Thank you to the state of California for forcing teachers to take furlough days due to budget cuts! At least I get to spend my non-paid days at Disneyland!

Well, I do suppose if you are being forced to not work there could be worse things to have to do! Good choice on how to spend your off days! If you let me know where you are staying I will add it to the list.

I look at Birnbaum's now just to get me even more psyched up. I picked up The Unofficial Guide thinking there might be some tip or secret that I wasn't aware of, but didn't find any. I have a copy of The Disneyland Encyclopedia and, although it reads like an encyclopedia, it is full of interesting information both current and from the past.

That is a very good reason to read any Disney related book! Glad to hear that The Disneyland Encyclopedia will be a good read. Knowing my DD she will probably want to pack it to take to the park to have something to read while we are waiting in lines.



I'm getting really excited! We hit another milestone today! Down to 69 days!!!! My DH told me today that he is really looking forward to our DL trip! And, even a few days ago my DS-19 told me he was looking forward to DL too. He said he is going to be ready for a break from his Jiu-Jitsu which is something that never happens! So much fun when the family starts chiming in!
The Disneyland calendar has almost the entire month of October up now so any day we will be getting a glimpse of what November has is store for us!

Got you updated! Hope your nephew and niece get to go. You know they would have a blast and you would probably enjoy having a couple kids along to add to the fun.
Since you were originally planning to go for your birthday I'd go ahead and pick up a button even if it is not on the exact day. Bet you will still feel like you are celebrating!

Its so nice when the rest of the family gets as excited as us DISers do. Do you find, now that all your planning winding down, that you're not quite as "hyped" up about it? A couple of months ago I couldnt stop talking about it, looking at disney websites and arranging (and rearranging) my disney binder, but now Im just kinda going with the flow, can't do anything till Disney opens up the schedules for November...... Im in LIMBO!!!

We've decided to brave the crowds and have our first Thanksgiving in the park. I've been hoping that after last year's reported crowds maybe some of them will decide to stay home! I know! I know! No doubt wishful thinking but a girl can dream, can't she? Besides a crowd in DL will be way better than spending the day with DH's family! We will also be there the same week you are so I am willing to bet that week, 10-18, will be much quieter than Thanksgiving week.

I can't believe it...today I received an email from Verizon saying I won 4 tickets to their WOC Private Party for next Friday 9/10. Tomorrow morning I'll need to see if I can get a room and decide if we're going to take a weekend road trip (6 hours each way).

It seems crazy to go since we'll be going in Nov.

I told them my DD will have turned 1 the month before and she said "That counts; and there will be something special waiting for you in your room." Wonder what that will be?

I keep reading about the crowds last year, too, but I agree that it will still be better than being in CO where it will likely be very chilly. I'd rather be waiting in a long line at DLR than sitting at work.

Just saw that our outbound SW flight is now listed as "unavailable" so I won't count on seeing a better price on it now...and I will expect it to be full.

Now we need to decide if we'll stay Sat night too, I could get that night at the DLH through DVC. It's tempting since our Nov trip will have so many people and little ones to keep track of. It would be nice to see WOC for the first time without all of our extras.

It's the 7 hour drive that just might kill me! Especially after going to the RiverCats playoff games (minor league baseball) Wed and Thurs nights. I'm not a spring chicken anymore so that will make a busy week with work too.

Thanks Marie!! I printed off a bunch of maps for other stuff we will be doing while we are down there and that got me a little more excited. I can't imagine going to WDW, after seeing how much work it takes to plan a trip to DLR, going to WDW would seem overwhelming.

Today I got my DD's photos taken for her passport, thats the last one and then we're good to go I honestly cannot believe how the time has flown by, just 6 months ago I saw a commercial about Disneyland and decided we were going!!

Absolutely better than cold or work! My DH always thought he wanted to live in Colorado. Only recently.... now that he's getting a little older.... has he decided that he really doesn't like the cold. It is pretty up there but I know I would have never been cut out to live up there!
I'm still fairly new at this airfare thing. If one flight sells out like yours did do they add more flights or is that just it? Good to know that you got the best deal you could have!

Sounds like plenty of good reasons to go to me! Of course, you are hearing that from a girl who will drive 8 hours one way to eat at her favorite restaurant! If I could drive to DL in 6 or 7 hours and had special tickets I would do it in a heartbeat!

Oh man! Planning for WDW was a huge undertaking. Yes, it was at times overwhelming. I vanished from the DL side of the board for the entire year because there was just so much to read up on! In the end we decided we love DL best but at least we can say we have seen them both.
Disney would be proud to know that their commercial worked on you! We don't watch much tv around here so I have never been enticed that way but it is good to know that they are very effective! Me, I don't need anything to convince me. As soon as we leave I know I will be ready to head back the next year. Our oldest DD has promised me that when I am old and can no longer get around that she will get me back to DL and push me around in a wheel chair! I just made my youngest DD promise me today that she would take over the job if her sister couldn't do it for any reason.

Bring on that party! 65 days for me!!!
