60 days left to go!!!

We just booked our ferry reservation (we're driving) to get off the island and I am over the moon to hear that Disney has started posting November info on the calendar!! Thanks for keeping us posted on that (and everything else) Marie

Hello all. I'm super stoked!! after months of maybe we will, maybe we won't, we are a go for our annual disneyland trip. I like mid october for halloween, low crowds, and awsome weather. However, we are not going in October, we are going in November. Our dates are the 23rd (Tuesday)to the 27th (Saturday). We are driving down from Central Cali, a six hour adventure, leaving around noonish. Three full days will be spent enjoying the parks, sleeping in on Saturday before our trip home.

We are staying at the Camelot Inn. From what I can tell from tripadvisor, it's a respectable motel though the "breakfast" is majoly lacking. Traveling with DH, DD9, and DD2 (will be 3 in Janurary). Depating on Plaza breakfast because my little monkey is very much a little monkey. If WOC is running during our visit, I'm defenatley ordering the picnic. We've seen Fantasmic numerous times, if the dragon is still out of commission, we'll pass on it and enjoy something else.

I've not been to Dland in November. For the dates we are going, I'm concerned about crowd level. I asume its somewhere between the mid October level and end of December - very manageable to the complete hell of Christmas Day. Can any shed light on this?

Absolutely better than cold or work! My DH always thought he wanted to live in Colorado. Only recently.... now that he's getting a little older.... has he decided that he really doesn't like the cold. It is pretty up there but I know I would have never been cut out to live up there!
I'm still fairly new at this airfare thing. If one flight sells out like yours did do they add more flights or is that just it? Good to know that you got the best deal you could have!

A move from Texas to CO would definitely require an adjustment. Since I'm originally from NJ, I find the climate here much more appealing.

SW still has something like 5 other flights on that same day so, as long as they are not sold out, I doubt any flights would be added. Of course, with my airfare obsession, I learned today that we could fly cheaper on Frontier with a new sale that just started, but I don't think we're going to change. Despite a few pluses in addition to the cost saving, we wouldn't get a refund from SW so, even if we get a credit, we're still paying the cost of airfare with both carriers.

So now that you are below the 60 day reservation date do you have some dining reservations to be calling in for? Not just everyone has to make ferry reservations. You had a little something extra to do while some of the rest of us are twiddling our thumbs waiting for the next step in our planning. Glad to provide the info on the calendar coming out. I just hope Disney doesn't blow it for us and start posting closures that there has been no mention made of previously. This Pirates and Blue Bayou closure really would mess up my plans! I will be hoping that it is just a short term refurb. I really want to eat at Blue Bayou for our Thanksgiving Day meal!
What is wrong with those people you are traveling with???? Other stuff besides DL? Are they crazy or something? I do know that there are a lot of folks out there who would rather be somewhere else. For the life of me I can't imagine why! So, the 11th is good for you.... I'll have to make a note of that.

Welcome! I went through that maybe we will or maybe we won't stage myself. It is so wonderful when you finally get to change your status to "we are definitely going"! Our first few trips were in October but we finally switched to November because it seemed like with all the parties October just kept getting more crowded. I bet you will love November too. And just think, you will get to see the park decked out for another holiday! From what I have read around here the week after Thanksgiving should be a pretty good choice and certainly nothing like the Christmas Day madness.
Never stayed at the Camelot Inn but it is one on the Harbor establishments so you can't beat the location. I think you will find that many of the places that offer free breakfast are somewhat lacking as far as offering much of anything really substantial. Continental usually unless you move further away from the park. Then they have to throw in a little something extra to entice you. We always place a grocery order to fill in where the breakfast lacks. Add a couple cases of water to the order and it is very well worth it!

Can't decide if I am glad you noticed this or not! Guess it's good to know the possibility but doggone it I sure hope it is a super brief refurb! Pirates is one of our very favorite rides! Plus if it is closed Blue Bayou will be too and it is another of our favorites. And to top it all off it is where we decided we would like to have one of our Thanksgiving day meals. Keeping my fingers crossed that one of the reports that said it was only for a few days will be correct!

Hi! (My first post here) We will be going November 14 to the 19th and staying at the Fairfield. Soooo excited.

Guess it's time I jumped in and made it official! We will be there Nov 11-21. Doing a split stay. First 3 nights at HOJO and then renting a vacation condo for 7 nights.

On my bucket list of things never done before: WOC picnic, DL Holiday Tour, pomme frites and beignets at Cafe Orleans, loaded baked potato soup and hopefully a meeting with Chef Oscar at Carnation Cafe, Fantasmic! dessert package, a visit to the Silhouette Shoppe, musical chairs with Alice and Mad Hatter, Sea World, the Gamble House in Pasadena, and a visit to the historic districts in Anaheim Colony. (Yes, Anaheim existed long before Walt came to town. )

And there's a chance my dad may come down from Oregon to join us! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

I'll will be booking our dining rezzies this week for my daughter's birthday!! We'll have to wait until 30 days out for the Holiday Tour and the WOC picnics (I think??), oh!! And I cant forget the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique DD is going to have a blast!!

I think the people I am going with ARE crazy!! I mean really, they must be out of their minds to DRIVE to Disneyland with me

Speaking of the drive, we just booked 3 out of our 4 hotels for the drive there and back, still trying to figure out where we want to stay in/around Seattle. I'd love any tips anyone has on a clean place that won't break the bank (Under $125/night).

Im keeping my fingers (and toes!!) crossed that POTC and BB are both just down for a quick overlay before they get back to business. I can't imagine them keeping either of those down during such a busy time of year (Christmas opening and all )

I can't believe there are over 60 groups of us crazy DISers going in November. The park's going to be packed full of LGMH's

Well, Im off to bed. Back to work tomorrow after a lovely 4 day weekend. Hope everyone has a great sleep with lots of dreams of disney magic

Any of you watch Diners, Drive-ins & Dives on the Food Network? They featured an Italian place called Mama Cozza's this week that is on Ball Road, about 2 miles from DLR. Since we are arriving early on Saturday and not going into the parks until Sunday, DW wants to take a cab over there and give it a try. We may have to walk back, though, after all of that delicious Italian food!

Are you guys sick & tired of my continuous fare change updates? Finding out that we could have flown cheaper on Frontier was gnawing at me a little bit, but I just couldn't justify making the change. Luckily, SW dropped the fare on our flight home again, so our r/t fare is a lot closer to what Frontier is charging (within about $5pp). So not only did I ultimately get below $200 r/t like I had initially wanted, but now we are actually flying for cheaper than what we paid last year!

I might need a hobby...

I have agree with ACDSNY on this one. I can't imagine them not extending it at least on weekends, especially since it is a fairly new entertainment offering.

Official is always good! If you don't mind me asking... where is the condo you will be staying in? After our trip to WDW we were spoiled by staying in a wonderful house. I would love to find one near DL or even a condo but they seem to be harder to find on the west coast.
You have a wonderful list of things to do! I think the majority of the ones in the park have been on my list at one time or the other. Good luck knocking some of them off your list!

You may have already mentioned it but refresh my memory. Where are you planning your dining for DD's birthday? So much fun to have a birthday in the park! She will feel just like a little princess!
If we were closer we would drive too but Texas is just so far away that we would already be pooped before we got there. Even worse than that is driving with my DH! He is no fun to drive with! Think one of the seven dwarves and I am not talking about Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Doc, Dopey or Happy!
My disney dreams have not started up yet.... unless you count all the daydreaming I do everyday!

Missed watching it but I am glad you saw it so you have a new place to try. We won't have a car so 2 miles is a bit far for us but I have noticed several places at the Garden Walk that sound really good! We always go to Bubba Gump. This time I thought we might try some of the others if the guys are agreeable to walking over there. Guess it depends on how tired we are. I picked up a $25 gift certificate for the Fire & Ice Grill and I'd also like to try the Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang. Don't think I can talk them into going over there that many times but after all the walking we did at WDW last year it doesn't seem like anything is going to seem like that much walking!

Heavens no we are not tired of hearing your updates! I love to hear anyone find a way to save money. I think saving money can qualify as a great hobby! On my home front.... American just sent out info on their latest sale. Let's just say that I don't even want to talk about it. Oh well, it's only money, right? And, I am still going to DL and will have a fabulous time! So I'm happy even if we did pay more than if I had waited a little longer.
