That is great! Direct flights are so much better... especially when they are a good deal! If you do decide to do a tour just make sure you get a private group tour or a very small group. They pack those big buses in like sardines!

Now, as for YOU, you should be resurrecting your wonderful "It's Gonna Be a Long One/They've Been Some Long Ones" TR since your next DLR trip is in 3 MONTHS!!!You need to start getting everyone reacquainted with you on the DLR Trip Report side of town so we can all follow along on your super-long trip to DLR! You are definitely making one of the longest trips to DLR out of anyone on this board (just like your 2008 trip), so it is very noteworthy and will yield many photos!!
Got your lodging updated! I have no idea how the Red Lion is but if you are like we are we don't always agree with all the reviews. Here's hoping that is the case for you. Sounds like you have the right attitude by not worrying about it since it is only 2 nights. A good deal goes a long way when you are trying to keep costs down. Money saved to put towards your cruises next year!

I really haven't done too much planning for this trip and I still need to purchase our return flights. I'm hoping SWA will have a Ding fare soon. Our DGS, nieces and nephew are excited and can't wait to go.
It has been our experience that BB is very busy and often does not accept walk ups. As for the tours, I have no idea if every one gets booked up completely but I do know they are limited to a small number of people so they may fill up too. If you wait until you get to DL there is the possibility that both BB and the tour could be booked up for the days you want. So I would say it just depends on if you want to risk it. If it were me I would be getting up early.

I've been watching our fare on SW, thinking that if it was to go down, we could get a credit but it has actually gone up by $74pp since we booked! Not only that, but that increase is completely on the fare going out; the return fare has not changed. I like that feeling of knowing that I booked at the right time.

AGAIN! There really is no better time, is there? Certainly my favorite time of year! Now that you mention it a gingerbread cookie does sound wonderful!...with a nice cup of hot chocolate too.Well we are going back for the Christmas season again!! I need a Disney gingerbread fix to kickstart my Christmas!!
It's my hubby myself, our youngest daughter (21) and her best friend. We have such a good time with the girls, we are really looking forward to sharing the fun with them!
Sounds like a plan! Get it all taken care of at once. I hope you can reach an efficient customer service person so they don't keep you on the phone too long and run up that phone bill!
You are more confident that I am! I am afraid I will find out that I should have waited! Not likely though since we are talking about Thanksgiving rates. Oh well, whatever the cost I am just glad to have it all done. Now I can just set back and wait to get on that plane! Boy am I ready!

And, with the Fall Promos going on, we are staying at the Disneyland Hotel this time...haven't stayed on property for a few years, and have never stayed there, so I am excited (and will keep that a secret from the Kidlet until we get there.) Looking forward to the Holiday Kickoff as well...I love holidays at Disneyland 
I should have mentioned this is a 30th anniversary trip for hubby and myself! we could have gone back down to the Caribbean where we spent our first honeymoon, but we spent our second honeymoon at Disneyland staying in the Disneyland Hotel, and there is no where we would rather celebrate our 30th as well!!
