Littleprincess2010, congratulations on dipping below 100! I am right behind you at 103. Won't be long now!

You have some wonderful ideas for getting in the Disney mood before your trip. I love the chain idea! May have to make one of those myself! If you don't mind please post us a picture so we can see what yours looks like.
I know around our house we never have a shortage of someone mentioning Disney pretty much everyday but the trip getting closer sure does bring the subject up a lot more often!

I'll take a photo tonight of my daughter and I with it. She's very, very proud of it and when I tell her ya'll want to see a picture she's gunna be through the roof!!

It was really easy to make, construction paper and fancy cut scissors and then she wrote all the numbers on it and I stapled it. Im thinking I might start collecting things for the trip and give 1 to her each day for our last 30 days.

My ppor husband is getting sick of how much I talk about Disneyland.

He's just not an excitable person, thankfully I have my daughter and my Disneyland Binder..... its my Bible and I read it religiously

This sounds like my house. My husband has banned me from talking about it with him. He says it ruins the trip for him. He gets so sick of hearing about it he dreads going. I am such a FREAK about it. I have it all planned and I just want to shout it from the roof tops every day how excited I am. If it weren't for these boards I would go crazy!!!

And for ****s and giggles I thought I'd post some photos of my first (and only) DLR trip from August 1999. I honestly don't remember a lot of it, I got heat stroke the first day and was pretty sicko for the rest of the trip. I remember my foster mom taking us to Captain Kidds and paying for me but I was too sick to eat, she got sooooo mad!!!

You tell her to keep the Disney projects coming and we will be more than happy if she wants to share them with us!
It is always fun to make up some little surprises. Your idea sounds fun. I haven't tried that but I do keep a bag of Disney goodies packed specifically for the plane trip to DL. There is no shortage of Disney items you can find to give out for little treats.
You poor thing! So much excitement and not a DH to share it with! Like you said, at least you have your DD so that has got to help. You do know anytime you have an urge to talk DL you can always come here and we will be more than happy to share in the conversation! That's what we're here for!!!

I am another one of those big planners. Right now I am just getting started. In another month or so and I will be getting down to the finer details and then it will be nothing but Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland!

Great job! I like her fancy #1! That is going to be so much fun watching it get shorter and shorter! Your DD is just beautiful... and so are you! So funny.... we have had some of those same alphabet letters on our fridge for years!

What a crummy first trip to Disneyland! It might have been better that you didn't get to eat at Captain Kidd's. I have heard a lot of negative reviews. So glad you are getting another chance to enjoy the park. This time I hope it goes off without anyone getting sick. AND drink lots of water!!!

Thanks Mariezp, I'll keep ya posted on any projects we do. I have made a personalized Journal for her to do while we are on our trip and I will share it as soon as I get it finished

We've had those letters for years now, there isn't a full set anymore but we keep them for Anya's cousin who comes over and just LOVES them. They are a great toy, but I was so thankful for that off switch some days

I hope these next 3 months fly by for all of us. It's going to be great when we all hit the single digits!!

Speaking of those darn sky high tickets I received an e-mail this morning and was so hopeful but ALAS my hopes were shot right out of the sky! As usual, the discount was not for my airport. Anyone still looking might check American. They have a very nice sale going. Maybe someone will get luckier than I did.

Sounds about like American right now. Up and down but not enough to have lured me in just yet. If your past trip offers any sort of pattern perhaps fares will go down 2 months ahead of time which in our case would be in early September. Your dates are like mine and we will be traveling during the Thanksgiving rush. Have you flown before at that time? Someone told me that they were not likely to drop but would more than likely continue to go up. I hope I don't hold out and end up with $500 tickets! I learned one thing from last year. I am just about right smack in the middle between DL and WDW. It is so much cheaper to fly to WDW. Guess that's why so many people go there instead. Not me. I'd rather pay the difference and be in DL!

Well, SW's fares dropped overnight so, even though it wasn't by a large amount, I went ahead and booked us. The price on the direct flight dropped by a more significant amount, and I had already assumed that we'd be booking a non-direct flight to save money, so I'm happy that we're flying direct, both there and back, for a better price than the non-direct flights had been. Now I have to start shopping for our park hoppers.

Hi fellow November travelers!! I finally get to join you!!! Yah!!!! Airfares finally came down for us!! We are leaving on the 19th and coming home on the 12/4. Planning to do DLR for 3/4 days and Vegas for 3/4 days. Now to figure out what to do when. Going to stay at BWPPI unless I can get us a good rate onsite so we can take advantage of MM more. I'm thinking we are doing vegas 1st, thanksgiving with fam, and then should we go to DLR 27-30 or 29-2? I've never gone with the shorter hours, so confused on what to do?? This is only my 4th trip to the parks. any suggestions? Cast is me, DH and DD3. I'm so excited!!!!

tracyvansmith: hi, no it's not our 1st time to vegas, maybe our 15/20th. I'd plan if I were you. Not as detailed as for DL of course, but for shows or must see casinos or shopping. At least for shows, you can buy your tickets online. You might not get tickets if you wait until you get there. There is so much to see and do and EAT in vegas and gamble of course And the outlets are good too. Let me know if you have any questions, I might be able to help. Where are you staying?

A journal should be fun! We have never done a journal but something sorta similar in that it told about the rides we enjoyed. We've bought the book kits that you can make. DD draws in the pictures and tells me what to write for each page. When you are done you send it back and they bind it for you. We have one that my DS did when he was 12 and two that my DD has done, one for DL and one for WDW. They are so fun to look back on.
I don't think we have all the letters anymore either. I am not sure why we still keep it on the fridge!

Welcome and good for your airfare rates getting better. Still waiting for mine to go down.
Thankfully, with shorter hours you might have a little less crowds so it works out that you can get more done in a shorter amount of time. If you are wanting to see all the night time entertainment the 27-30 would probably work best as some things are only offered on weekends. However, if you are wanting to avoid crowds the 29-2 would be good since it is not the weekend.

For us, I think the countdown is considered a very important part of the trip. The whole family gets involved right up until the end! You'll have to show us your calendar next!

I agree with kailuagirl. You may not need to do a ton of planning but I would try to get tickets lined up for any shows that you really, really want to see.

Now that everything is booked, I went back and looked at our fare from last year then added in all of the luggage fees, because we flew United, and it turns out we are only paying about $75 more total than we paid last year, or $25pp. I feel even better about booking now!

Okay, so I thought of a question to ask my fellow travelers. When you are planning for a DL trip I know there are about a gazillion different sites out there with amazing info. I have to confess that I probably do not utilize as much of the DIS as I probably should. Do any of you have a favorite area where you garner info? Or perhaps any other sites that are your favorites? I'll share my favorites if you will share yours!
First of course, is this thread!!!!!
