November Check In 2010

We go 11/24-12/1 staying at the CBR. it will be me, DH, DS9 and DD7. I wanted to see the Christmas lights and going at Christmas was not an option. Also, it will be mine and DH's 10th year wedding anniversary.

I love to finally see the November calendar up on Disneylands website. I keep checking to see my dates, but I know it's getting closer. I am couting down the days (7) until I can call and make our reservations for Goofy's Kitchen. I am going to start making gifts for my girls for when we are there. I am going to make custom t-shirts and have a note each morning from a princess telling them they left them a fun thing to wear at the park that day. I get so caught up in the magic!!

I think Tangled looks like it will be very cute so it will be good even if you have to watch it after your trip.

I don't think $900 for food is all that insane. It's probably about right if you want to be able to eat what you want when you want. We are always on diets when we are at home. Disneyland is my one chance to throw the diet out the window and enjoy some special treats. Vacations in my book are meant to be indulgent! Funny though.... like you said I start out with all these places in my mind but when we are actually there I don't end up having as much as I thought I would. 2 big meals a day and I am so stuffed I don't usually have room for the extra goodies.

I really enjoy ordering in groceries. First off it saves a bundle on water! Also, I get mainly breakfast items, coffee supplies, paper supplies and snacks. I also have started ordering small bottles of shampoo, condition, and any other items I can so I don't have to bring them with me. I'm okay going with an inexpensive brand for a couple of weeks. If I don't use it all I can just leave it behind. I need every bit of room I can possibly save in my suitcase!
My DD is 10. We watch Disney movies all the time but she has never been especially partial to any one particular character. She loves them all! Princess Aurora is her favorite princess and Silvermist is her favorite fairy. We've been to Ariel's before and the food was pretty good but not at all what we have on an everyday basis. Kinda pricey too but worth it as a special treat and if your DD will really enjoy it.

Now at first I was thinking that the 6-13 might be less crowded too but then after taking into account Veteran's Day I decided that the second week would be my suggestion. Either one will be fine. We have been on Veteran's Day before... and will be this trip too... and managed with the crowds just fine. In all honesty, I get pretty wrapped up in my own little bubble and unless the crowd is just really insane I don't usually notice the crowds so much unless they are directly in my path, like say waiting in line or walking through Adventureland.


I hope mom loves POTC as much as some of the rest of us!

Part of our plan is to buy groceries when we get down there!! While I cannot wait to eat like there is no tomorow, I can't imagine eating processed food for an entire week, I don't think my body could handle it . The money we'll save on eating at the hotel for breakky and lunch will be spent buying lots and lots of yummy snacks and stuff to take home with us though, I don't intend on coming home with extra money .

My daughter likes Aurora too!! And funnily enough she was silvermist for halloween last year Sounds like our girls have similar tastes.

I totally forgot about veteran's day crowds!! Thats going to make it a little trickier, but it'll be fun regardless of the crowd levels

But still I have 4 different versions to choose from, I have a limited amount of the new covers, oh yeah I have new covers!! So please take a gander and let me know what map covers you’d like, I can send all four. But its first come first serve basis, oh and don’t worry I ham going tonight and I will be getting more new cover maps! They are super duper cool looking…

AND ONLY 1 DAY until we leave for Vegas.

November is an excellent option if you can't make it at Christmas. Not sure I would want to brave that crowd either! Also, as much as I love DL we tend to want to be traditional and be at home for Christmas. Now, Thanksgiving is a different story....

Getting a couple extra trips in before the AP expiration sounds like a great idea to me!

One of the first things I have been doing everyday is heading to the Disney website to see what else has gotten posted too.
I've got 3 days before I can make my first ressie call for Blue Bayou.
What fun! Your girls will be getting such a special treat every morning. You'll have to be sure to post some photos when you get their shirts made! I wish I were better at getting stuff like that done. My best shot at getting my DD decked out for the park is stocking up on Disney shirts when they are on sale.

I think it's definitely a good thing that we can't possibly eat all the goodies we daydream of! Not only would we come home penniless but packing a little extra load. Well, actually, come to think of it, with all the walking we do I don't think we ever gain any weight at all.
So cute that the girls like the same thing.
Last time we were there for Veteran's day I really do not remember it being crazy crowded. I do remember that I wanted to try to make it to the special flag retreat ceremony since we have never seen it but ALAS I failed. Maybe this year! Anyway, I agree. Crowds really won't hamper us. We'll just go with the flow!

Just an FYI for anyone going over Veteran's Day weekend. I was able to book a WOC dining package at Ariel's Grotto today for Nov 12 even though there's no info at all on the DLR calendar yet. The person I spoke to said there would be WOC showings at 9 pm and 10:15 pm that night.

Cool! So good to see that people are starting to make their dining and entertainment reservations! We will be there for Veteran's day weekend too but I think I will wait til later in our trip to go see WOC. Probably would be a good time to go though. Maybe you will get to leave some of the crowd behind in DL. ALso, good to get a confirmation that the WOC will be running. Thanks! Also good to know that you can call 2 months in advance. I couldn't remember if it was 30 or 60 days.

We've not been to Minnie's in quite some time. Perhaps I should do some more thinking! Last time we did go we probably saw more characters there than any other character meal. Lots of fun and I know you will have a great time!

We just returned from our quickie roadtrip to DL, the World of Color show was pretty amazing and we met a fellow DISer and watched it from the higher handicap section, wonderful view. The Verizon private party last Friday night was pretty crowded and they really didn't have enough stuff open for the amount of people.

We also were lucky and received one of the newly renovated rooms at the DLH in the Dream tower. They're pretty nice with a wood headboard going the length of the two beds with the castle and LED lights for stars and fireworks. We loved the new look.
