Hi everyone:

This will be our fist time on Disney Cruise. We're a family of five. Dad is Pong and I am Thai. Mom is Wakana and she is Japanese. Twins 4 yrs old are Sierra & Marina. Toddler is 2 yrs old Celeste. But we're all Americans now and just voted.

We're going on the 7-night Easter Caribbean from Nov. 8-15, 2008

I'd like to make new friends on this cruise.

Well I just finished packing! And like Kate, I am an overpacker.

You think I would learn after years of traveling to the beach for vacation that half of what I pick out to pack will not be used.

Now the bags are staged and waiting to be put in the car for the trip.

That's awesome that you're starting your cruise trip with a stop at the parks!! We're going to the parks for about 2 days after the cruise. Probably should be the other way around...LOL...run around the parks then relax on the boat. But meh.

With all you have to worry about right now I'm sure between all of us we'll have whatever it is that you might forget. Just get the corrections done. When do they have to be done and when are you finished with it all? We will need to losen you up on the ship as I'm sure you are under alot of stress right now. See you in a couple of days. When do you arrive? Will you be able to join us all for dinner?

I think the corrections are mostly done but I'm trying to write another paper to get to my boss before I move up to MA, which is the week after we get back from the cruise. I'm one crazy busy woman

Mark and I are driving down after I meet with the movers. The movers have to come look at my crap to figure out what truck they will need and see if they will pack it up differently. We probably won't make it to dinner with the family but we will be there in the morning. Mark passed his defense today so he will be doing corrections on the "at sea" days. Can't wait to share some drinks of the day with you!!! Any word on margarita tasting?

Congrats on the dissertation guys.

Things are coming together. Birth certificates have arrived/found. DGD is responding to antibiodics and feeling better. I packed DH's clothes last night and now have ot finish the suit cases. I am in the process of doing laundry to finish off the unmentionables.

The move at work is coming together as well. Unfortunately, JACHO showed up today. ARRGH! Pixie dust it all goes well. Nothing like just moving in and having nothing hung up. I will need this vacation!

Say it ain't soooo??? Ugh I was hopng not to have to take the arsonal of sea sickness meds I have packed. Looks like I may have to after all. According to the weather looks like there is 30% chance of rain for Tues and 60% chance rain for Wednesday on the islands. But I am assuming things will change as the storm moves away from us...hopefully

I'm sorry that you were sick Nancy and skylynx. I think I had the same thing you guys did. I was pounding medicine last week and this week, and I'm about 95% better! I certainly don't want to pass this sickness onto my new friends. I just kept thinking "I need to get better before the cruise..."

ONE MORE DAY! I CAN'T wait to meet/party/relax with everyone! Thank you SO much for all the love coming into this group! I feel very blessed and I hope I can do the same for all of you!

Yeah! we can leave 2 hours earlier than planned. Talked to my dd's teacher and she said go ahead and take her early. She wouldn't have gotten 1/2 credit anyhow. So we may make the pool bar at the Radisson after all!!!

I'm feeling much better...my DH is still struggling a bit but he'll forget all about his sniffles as soon as we get to Florida tomorrow. Looks like good weather for sailaway. We'll cope with the tropical storm if it comes...the captain will keep us out of harm's way and we might just have something serendipitous happen!

Just finishing the eighty zillion things I needed to do to be able to jet out of town for 11 days. In addition to my "day job," I run a racehorse rescue here in Illinois and we have a fundraising event coming up and coordinating that is something I now have to pass off to others...we'll see what happens!

I'm a travel witch, so I have this pile of documents and reservations for our pre and post cruise stuff all in a neat stack. Plus an enormous list with all the things we just can't live without on a Disney Cruise/WDW trip. Our golden retrievers are none too pleased the suitcases are out again, and they've been trying surreptitiously to empty them when we are not looking. I'm finding socks, bathing suit tops, and partially gnawed flipflops all over the house.

It was cheaper for us to take a taxi than park at the airport for this long a trip, so we can begin our trip as soon as the taxi turns up (and be spared the hideous and harrowing drive to Midway Airport. Chicagolanders will know what I'm talking about).

OK...time to zip the luggage up.

I'm so bummed, I got an email this morning from the Lord Sheffield that their boat is broken so our charter on Tuesday in St. Maarten is canceled...Oh well...

I planned to pack all day today - but got work to do so I'm hoping by noon to start - we'll be driving up in the morning.

Ooo... I just missed you guys. Thank you for "welcome"! I'm sorry I didn't personally thank you, as I'm still trying to learn what to do here. We are in San Diego. We'll be flying out of here around 8 PM up to LAX and then off to MCO. We'll get there about 6 tomorrow morning. Have a safe flight and SEE YOU THERE!

I'm glad you didn't have to take anything to get better. I think buying medicine put a dent in my spending money. I'm sorry your voice is not coming back yet. Maybe after a little sea air, it'll start to come around. I'll be praying and sending some pixie dust that it comes back sooner.
