November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Mozart, do you have that name because of your enjoyment of Mozart music, clasical music, music in general or is it possible that it is your last name? :rockband: :charac2:

I went through a phase years ago where I enjoyed Mozart's music alot. I even named my dog that. When I needed a screename, I just decided to start using Mozart after my dog, and have been using it for years now. I honestly don't listen to that much music anymore. It's not really a musical thing, I just like the name now.

Neat, at least your name came from something you once enjoyed. My son and I are into music. We both love classical. He can usually tell me what is playing and by whom. I just like to listen. We both enjoy all types of music and we both play instruments. Guess you can say we are both into music. I was just curious when I saw the name.

Hello All- Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I haven't been able to get to the computer all weekend.

WendyJersey- I'm sure we will meet at the meet and greet. I imagine one will be planned:confused3 right?

Time will start to go fast now because of the holidays. Hopefully just won't slow down too much this winter. I'll still be busy planning.

Do we have a name for the cruise yet? I don't have any in mind was just wondering. Everyone have a good night.

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

We we at the bottom of page 3.......has anyone seen Pandamom post lately, I did a search and she doesn't show up?:confused3 :confused3

Thanks for bumping us up:) I am sitting by our beautiful Christmas tree and reading the dis boards. What a fun evening. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the season. We are almost to 11 months out -- Wahoooo!

Anyone else on here know about the "Fish Extenders"?

Here is some more info. on them http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=22006143#post22006143

Would anyone be interested in doing this for our Cruise?

Also would love to find someone that would be willing to make me one( I would pay for it of course). Would love to have a Mickey Mouse and friends one!

Sounds like a fun thing to do on a Cruise and thought I would put the idea out here, to see if anyone would like to do this. Let me know what you guy's think....

It does look like a fun idea. I don't sew either. I believe they make a tape that you iron on between the material to hold it together. I don't remember the name of it but will research and get back to you. I was planning to decorate the door. My two little ones will enjoy that. I guess everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays. I haven't been on the computer in days. Between shopping, decorating and the kids its been a little hectic. I hope the thread picks up soon. Bye for now.

Hi everybody and welcome all new cruisers!!! Sorry haven't posted in awhile but life has been hectic.

I added everyone who is cruising to the first post -- if I missed you or put incorrect info please let me know! :)

My DD who will be 16 and I are currently scheduled for this cruise. There is a chance we might change it to the week before or after depending on parent teachers conference. I'm hoping for two days off in the same week so I only have to pull her out of school 3 days.

We had so much fun on our 11/10/07 eastern cruise, we thought we might make it an anually tradition.

We learned about the fish extenders on our cruise and plan to participate on our next.

I just wonder if I'm the only serious planner going on this cruise. I mean we're still almost a year away and my wife and I have probably already decided on excursions, Palo's schedule, spa treatments and times, etc...

First cruise I had was only 3 months notice. Second cruise tortured me with 7 months. It's been 2 since we booked this one, and 11 more before it's here.

This is gonna kill me...

Thanks Pandamom for getting the list together of all the names. Now we have all the names in one place.:thumbsup2

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thanks Pandamom for updating the names.

Mozart- We're with you on the planning. Now if I can only talk hubby into REAS.

Woo hoooooooo!

Yeah only another 11 months to wait!!!! The wait is killing me!

But good news today, I found out that we are getting $150.00 of on board Credit!!!!!!!!:cool1:  :cloud9:

I am thinking on starting to make some door signs, that will help me pass the time away!

It is great to see that we are at the 11 month mark.
From what I remember from the last trip in 2006 it seems once the holidays were over time seemed to go faster. I am hoping the same occurs this time because November can't get here fast enough. I can't wait!!!! :woohoo:
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I went to your link to read more on the Fish Extenders. :surfweb: They are cute, but I'm not into sewing. Someone mentioned the iron on tape I think it is called Magic Sew or something to that effect. It is great to use for hems etc. Just need an iron.
I was upset to read that someone would steal these Fish Extenders. :sad1: Most likely kids. It is just a shame. Just goes to show that just because you are on a Disney Cruise you can't let your guard down. Things have a way of going missing no matter where you are!
I worried :sad2: about that happening with the things we put on our door on the Nov 2007 cruise. The items were hand made. I would have been very upset if someone had taken them. The one I made was something simple. But.......
The other was something that was made for us by faireygodmother. :wizard: It was a family thing for our group at the time so it was something special. I know she put more thought and work into it than I did with the one I made. Hers was a keepsake item.
 I did try to keep them up high so that little fingers wouldn't be able to reach that far. Thankgoodness they were still there at the end of the cruise so that I could take them home.
Well let me get back to getting my :laundy: done.

Yes! :dance3: Yes! :woohoo: Yes! :dance3: Eleven Months to go!! :yay:

Hello everyone!! I am a newbie to the forum and to cruising.

We are on the Magic on Nov 8th also., we are toooo excited!!

DH, DD (12) and DD (8) will be going along with another couple with their two kids DS (13) and DD (11).

It would be great to meet some of you and get some pointers for excursions and just things to know.

My DD (8) might be looking for a friend about the same age, since her sister has her good friend going along. I don't want her to feel alone. Is that even possible on a DC?

Welcome Morgan4. :wave2: You are going to love cruisin with Disney. Coming to this thread is the best way to get info about anything. Everyone is very accommodating. This thread has been slow to start, but believe me in a few months business will be picking up as everyone joins in for the fun. This is my second cruise with Disney and I can't say enough about how great it is! Cleanliness, that is a pet peeve of mine, is the greatest and the crew, well you can't say enough about them. :thumbsup2 They are always smiling and willing to help you anyway they can. (Boy DCL should hire me as a marketer:rotfl: ) Anyway......You will meet a great bunch of people here. On my last cruise, 11/11/06, we all met at a designated location. :chat: It was fun putting a face to the name you had been writing to. You don't have to meet with the group, but it was fun. Most brought their families to the meet. We took pictures and a group shot. We also met for lunch on a day when we were at sea. Again you don't have to do be there. Our group wore these lime green bracelets, something that was planned ahead, so when you saw one on someone you knew they were from the group on the thread. Everyone helps everyone with any questions they have about the ship and the cruise. If an answer is not immediately available  someone seems to always do some research and post an answer for you. Don't ever be afraid to ask. That's the way you'll get to know things before you get on the ship unless you want to be totally surprized. It does make you feel more at ease before boarding the first time if you know somethings ahead of time. Especially if it will better your experience. I know we felt better knowing some things before boarding for our first cruise. There are a few cruisers from the 11/11/2006 cruise that will be going on this one. I can tell you from experience they are a great group of people :grouphug: and I hope you get to meet them. Some familes with children set them up ahead of time to penpal with each other. Just ask about this on the thread and if someone is interested in doing this they will let you know. Ask the question every so often as new people arrive and they may be interested. This always makes the kids feel more comfortable when they get on board. Makes them feel there is someone they know there. Kids are funny that way! But it doesn't take them long to make friends anyway. There is so much for kids to do on the ship they couldn't possibly feel alone or bored! DCL is a great way to vacation when you have kids. :thumbsup2 You have your vaca and they have theirs. They can have their freedom and you can have yours! What more could you ask for!!
Well in case I have missed other newcomers.....
"Welcome aboard, the more the merrier :yay: !"
I hope some of this info helps you. Can't wait to meet you all! We are in the ten month range and once I see it go to 9 I will really start getting excited. It will go by quicker than you think!:scared1:
Have a great day and weekend ahead. Snow is in the forcast starting Saturday night or Sunday for us in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic whatever they want to term us in NJ these days. So drive carefully!

WendyJersey,

Thanks for the welcome!! DCL should hire you, I am even more excited to go than b4 (if thats possible).

My DH is the big Disney fan, he would go every year if we could. But once we put down the deposit to go, I am the one who cannot wait and I have to research every possible thing to do. I want to do it all and not miss a thing!

I need to know, are all the shows "must sees" or only a couple of them? Like I said, I want to do it all, but don't want to be so scheduled that we are just running from one thing to the next. "OK everybody, Move! Move! Move!" I think that that might lose some of the "relaxation" factor of a "vacation"

How do I get the ticker at the bottom of my posts? Would love to see it count down!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!

If it's your first cruise, I would suggest going to the shows that are based on Disney characters. Disney Dreams, The Golden Mickeys, Twice Charmed, etc... I'm not a big fan of the other entertainers myself.

If you want a great planning website, there are some where you can take a look at the navigators, menus, and they have pictures from all over the ship. I highly suggest grabbing the latest navigator for the 7 day eastern and using those to plan your trip. That way you have an idea for what you want to do before you get on board.

They won't seem to let me link to the website I wanted to on the board though.
