November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

6032 is a GREAT room - category 6 - right near the forward elevator lobby, WITH a veranda! Why on earth would you be wanting to change it??

I don't want to change it (now that I've found out how great it is). Now my worry is - Can I keep it?

It is my understanding that once cabins are assigned, they won't move you. Sounds like a great room!

LOVELY day here today. It has not rained in like maybe 48 hours! I am so tired of rain but I know I should be thankful. We are going to watch Drew play soccer tomorrow (reserve game - he will play) so I am looking forward to that (and not sitting in the rain to do it). My errands are run and I think I have all my FE gifts for this cruise completed and better than half on the Western. DH has even been helping (shocking but he has). And, since it is a football day in front of the TV, I might not get many done today but we shall see. Not my favorite game - OSU or not.

Those that are under the weather - feel better quickly. Time to go do something housework related - or napping so I can ;).

Up from my second nap of the day. DH made and served lunch. I could get used to this!

It was pretty out this morning, but the skys have turned grey again. Glad to see at least it's not snowing, and won't at a balmy 48 degrees.

Linda hope you feel better soon gal. Shauna hope your little one feels better as well. I am so glad it is almost time for this cruise. So much has happened since I originaly booked it. I also agree kids should be at the meet. They are apart of us.

Gals remind me when the lunch is so I can make sure to be there. My mind is all over the place these days.

Welcome to our newest family Matt!!!

Kathy hope your mom is feeling better. Tim is looking so much better these days. Thanks for all of the support. Kinda sad but I was thinking I talk to you guys everyday and what happens after the cruise? I am going to be sad.:sad1:

Traci, lots of cruises keep the thread alive just to chat with each other. Or - we can e-mail or facebook. Kathy and I have been keeping in touch since our first cruise together back in 2006. I think I'll print a bunch of address labels with our names, emails and so forth on them, just for that purpose!

Scrapbookers, you guys could come over to the Scrapbook board too, in the creative community sectin.

Looks like we are going to have a beautiful weekend. It is 66 right now and is supposed to get to 71 and tomorrow 75 degrees. Nice to have a warm up. Also, since I'm stuck home with DD as we don't want to spread germs, at least we can go outside or even for a walk. I'd really just like to take a nap--long night--her fever spiked in the middle of the night. So this morning the pediatrician said a lot of kids get around 1 virus a month, and this is #2 for October so I told him that means we won't get one in November :) at least that is what we will hope for.

Rick--I think if they were to change your room at this point, they would call you first and they couldn't downgrade you, only upgrade. I think the chance of that is very low, but I like to hope that we might still get bumped up.

Have a great Saturday everyone! Hope you can all be healthy, get a lot done, enjoy football (go Utes), and enjoy some sun.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and greetings from cold and raining Virginia.

Nothing like gray drizzle to make one fantasize about lying on a deck chair in the med with a book in one hand and cocktail in the other....

Looking forward to meeting everyone soon.

Cheers
Matthew

Matthew just wanted to welcome you again in my other post I said Mike but meant Matt so sorry. I am all over the place right now. Furniture delivery was here and I didnt pay attention. So just want to make sure you knew we are happy to have you and you family to the group.:woohoo:

Linda I am happy to hear that bc I was feeling kinda sad. I like chatting with my peeps everyday!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to those who are just now joining us! It's going to be an awesome cruise.

About the scrap swap, does anyone know how many there are now? Last I heard/ checked, there were 8 total. (Including myself) Just wanted to make sure that this was correct, and did we ever decide when to meet and swap?

Hope everyone who is healthy stays healthy, and those that are under the weather, I wish you a speedy recovery! We have a cruise in less than a month, and you should definately enjoy it!!!

Oh, one more question... has anyone who gets sea sick ever tried the 24 hour dramamine, with the Meclizine (as the active ingredient). It's different from the 4-6 hour stuff, and I wanted to know if it worked well. One pill a day would be way better than 6! lol. :)

I totally agree with you. Facebook keeps me up to date with people I dont see often some since high school. We could even create a Ahoy St Criox Group on there too. But also great idea for labels. I think I even have business card paper at work so maybe I'll make them up so we can exchange them.

Scrapbook Swap I suggest a "speed date" style swap, on the first or second sea morning. It will take 5 minutes times the number of participants. And some spouse or older child needs to come and take our photo doing it. I never heard of such a thing, but we did it to exchange our circle journals once and it was a HOOT. Everybody gets to talk to everybody else and admire the pages and swap. We could do it around a couple tables on deck 9 or 10, or in the Cove Cafe (over COFFEE).

Sokay, do you know how to set up a group on Facebook? Can you give me *simple* instructions on how to find y'all?

There is a lot of activity on here today. Hi everyone.

Just got lab results back, DD has the flu. :sad2: They aren't positive if it is H1N1 but said 95 percent of flu cases right now are. She may have picked it up at her well-check on Tues. Bummer. Their office has seen 120 flu cases this week. At least we caught it early. Needless to say, I'll be home for at least a few days and will be checking the boards a lot to keep my sanity. I guess I should just be glad that it is now and I don't have to worry about her picking it up on the trip.

As far as the scrapbook swap, whatever is fine with me. I just want to be sure that it isn't when we have other things (like the DVC member party). I really need to get busy and figure out my pages.

Too bad about the kidlet - but better this week than two weeks from now! Take care of yourself too, ok?

It would be easier to plan if we got the nav's sooner than the night before. . . is this the cruise with the group lunch planned? If it is, right after that might be a possiblity. . . let me see if I can find a recent Navigator.

Scrapbook page swap -

I checked the old navs on castawayclubdotcom . Assuming they are the same, 9 am either Sunday or Monday looks to be clear unless you want to go to church or open house at Ocean quest on Sunday.

On Monday, if we met in the promenade lounge, at 9, there is origami at 9:45, guarenteeing we will be done, and putting us on location to make paper embellishments.

DH has issues with seasickness and he swears by Bonine. He used to use Dramamine but that alwasy made him so sleepy and this doesn't.

Shauna - we had a pediatrician office once that had two sides to it - on for well checks and one for sick kids - different waiting rooms as well as treatment rooms. Sounds like more need to implement that. I hope she is better soon and then I hope no one else gets it.

Well, take care everyone. We will be leaving early tomorrow for Alma to watch Drew and then I hear there is a scout camp visit in my future (oh boy, I can hardly wait). Have a great evening and I will check in tomorrow as time permits.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:Document Dance is here. All 12 are here. Only had one that needed a spelling correction.:thumbsup2

Shauna sorry to hear about your daughter but it will be out of the way by the time we sail. I'm going on a week sick and think its full broncitis now. Unfortunately my daughter can't get the flu shot since her father had a reaction to years back and they recommend our kids not get it since they don't know if they will be allergic too. So hopefully she stays germ-free.

Almost finished the FE but hopefully tomorrow while watching the Patriots and Phillies play.

Now off to work for the night.

Hi,

9 am on Sunday or Monday should be a good time as it probably won't interfere with Palo Brunch, the Adult entertainment series, Castaway Club party or other events which usually don't start until after 9.

Dale :thumbsup2

Howdy all,

Gosh I got shopping for one day and you post over 2 pages while I am gone:goodvibes

YES bring everyone, kids and all to the meet!! Its a family meet for everyone. The Promenade lounge is an family lounge and very large area for kids to walk around. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit and chat a bit. Even a bar that open for those who want to get the party started right away:woohoo:

Linda, you take care and get well soon. Let Bruce wait on your all day long and enjoy it!!:goodvibes

Shauna hope DD gets over the flu fast!! Keep us posted on her progress!!
Just dont you catch it too!!

Never had the problem with sea sickness so cant help you with that one.

I got almost everything i needed for the cruise today. So we are looking good:thumbsup2

Catch everyone tomorrow,

Kathy

You're right! that's what I checked for - the only kicker is - if people have the charactor bfst that morning or don't like to get up:rotfl:

I haven't every been seasick (stomach sick) but I have been bothered by the motion (head) and bonine works for me - I start the morning we set sail before I ever get on the ship. Which reminds me to check my supply.

Bruce made lunch, Kathy - it was quite a treat. OH, and he drove home from the er, got food and brought it back to me last night when we were still waiting at 8 pm and it had been over 8 hours since I ate. But I prepared dinner.

Scrapbook swap- I like 9 am. It sounds great. I don't think that anyone swapping has disagreed with 9! So it should be ok.

Happy Sunday!
