November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

It is yummy. I haven't done any canning since DD was born. The store bought applesauce just isn't the same. I love use Jonathan apples, they make the applesauce more tart and it is pink. So yummy!

Congrats on finishing your FE gifts. I wish I was finished, but my first priority is sewing right now because my NICU visit will be before the cruise, so first things first.

:cool1:I'm SO EXCITED that we'll be SAILING in 4 WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!:cool1:

It snowed here this afternoon - wet and didn't stick but it lasted about an hour.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:
Holy Snowflakes! Gosh, guess you don't want to hear that it was in the mid-90s here today! Then again, you'll know that we're keeping it toasty warm here for y'all when you arrive in less than FOUR WEEKS!!!:cheer2:

Congrats Kathy on finishing those FE gifts. I have 9 of mine done so far... lots more still to do.

We are off to the cottage today for Thanksgiving dinner. Looks like a nice day outside so we should be able to get a nice long walk in too.

Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Laurie

I apprecieate that you are willing to keep it toasty for our arrival. It was a big 30 degrees when I got up this morning and there is frost out there. I am not ready for this weather just yet but, Mother Nature doesn't consult me so I best be getting used to it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

SNOW! YUCK! (Althought my spouse is praying for the stuff)

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadian Cruisers!

I was over in Massachusetts having a little 'girls weekend' and attending a scrapbook crop. It was so much fun! Our tongues wagged at both ends, I can tell you :) Plus, I got 11 pages done, my page kits packed up for the cruise swap, and ate far too much delicious food.

It was 32F when I left there this morning, but the sun was out and the trees glowed with brilliant color . . . until I pitched over the hill to drop into the Hudson Valley where it was overcast, grey and dull. Welcome home :?

Now, safely back home and doing the "waiting for documents" dance. I know, there's nothing to them, anymore but the luggage tags. Still, it's an exciting milestone.

Groceries to get, we're going to drive over to Jiminy Peak and pick up DH's ski pass. Tomorrow, a harvest festival. Hope it's nice. Then I can get down to some serious packing!

Happy day, all!

Good morning all. Happy thanksgiving Laurie! Hope u get to eat some yummy stuff. Today has been a good day. Tim and I were able to sleep in and I can't tell you how long it has been since we did that. He is doing much better today and wants to get out to go to the store. So that is a good sign. I will take him to one store so he doesnt get tired out.

So I got lots of FE gifts done last night but having problems with the new cricut to cut out the items for the page swap. Sooooo.....I will be working on that today.

Everything is going well and hope everyone else is too. Can't wait to be on that ship. Have a good day everyone!

Happy Sunday! (One more day closer to crusing!!) We're so excited. I hope everyone is well today. I wish it would snow in FL, but no way. We're getting record high's. I would settle for 80 though. Wow, some have already gotten all the FE gifts done, I'm so far behind. Congratualtions to those of you who have! I'll be working hard today to get that done! :thumbsup2
I don't remember who posted about making applesauce, but that sounds so good!

Glad Tim is feeling better!!

I have always had trouble with my cricut when cutting out anything but letters. I have all the disney carts and have never really been pleased with how they turn out. I have even replaced the blade. Maybe my machine just stinks?? I buy good quality Bazzill paper too. :confused3

Anyway- once I finally finish report cards today I can get in full cruise-prep mode!!! And will finally be able to finish working on FEs and get started on my swap page.

Off to brunch in LA for my brother's birthday!! DD has been sick with the flu all week so DH is staying home with her. She seems to be on the mend though.

Have a great day everyone!!
Christine

Thanks Christine. The problem I keep running into is when I am trying to cut multiple of the same item it cuts on top of the previous one. Any help or advice for me? I am wasting my good bazzill paper too:headache:.

Good afternoon everyone.

Traci - glad that Tim is feeling better but you are right to hold him back some. Funny how that overexertion can have such a negative effect the following day.

Linda - your scrapbook event sounds fun. I should do more (or some would be a better assessment) but I just can't seem to get started.

And ladies - anyone used those Purex laundry all in one sheets? How are they? I so miss the tablets for travel, had seen the commercials for these but couldn't find them in the store - until yesterday that is. Way more than what I need but I am sure that Drew should be doing some laundry at school.

Take care and enjoy your afternoon.

Well I finally got time to say good morning although it's almost afternoon here.
Had to button down everything to move the RV to the gas station to get propane for the furnace. Its the only place in 30 to 35 miles. The man couldnt get the propane to go into our tank. He kept telling Greg something was wrong with the RV. No way. Greg said are you sure your tank has propane.
Yes we just got it filled last week.
Well guess what, due to a cold snap everyone filled their propane and they were out. No time to drive to another place, Greg had to get to work, so for the next 2 maybe 3 days I have about 1/8th of a tank of propane.

Thank goodness I have a small electric heater to use. One good thing I dont want to use the water heater so no washing dishes, everything will be paper plates and bowls.:goodvibes That was my morning.

Traci, great to hear Tim is feeling so much better so soon.

Melody our home is in Florida too and i know for a fact that the end of November and through December it does snow in Florida.:thumbsup2
We had snow every year at Magic Kindgom on main street and Hollywood Studios on the back side of the park:rolleyes1

Even some other parks had snow. Its special snow that isnt cold so it doesnt freeze you. Disney makes magic warm snow:lmao:

Well Kathy - here is to hoping your weather warms up a bit.

We were at WDW in December 1989 and it might as well have snowed - the real stuff. They shut the monorail down due to ice on the track. We had dinner somewhere in Epcot, my memory fails me but the windchill was zero when we came out. And, smartalic Gail - oh, let's leave our winter coats in the car at the airport - we won't need them. WHAT a moron I was. I am so happy that the internet now provides me with that info before I leave. While I realize that things can change, I at least have a rough idea of what to expect.

Well, I stopped for a chili break so I guess I best get back at the FE's.

Thanks Christine. The problem I keep running into is when I am trying to cut multiple of the same item it cuts on top of the previous one. Any help or advice for me? I am wasting my good bazzill paper too:headache:.

Did you do your plan for multiples in design studio? If so, your problem probably is you copied the item, possibly several times, but moved one less than you actually copied. So, the machine still thinks there is a stack of two cuts on top of one another. Does that make sense?

If you have an expression, the easy way to cut multiples is to enter one on the touch pad and then tell it to cut x times. (NOT the same as multi-cut - I think the key is marked quantity)

When using bazzill paper, it's helpful not to have the pieces extremely small or fine, and to use a higher than moderate speed and pressure, and if the cut does not go through cleanly, then press multicut, which causes the blade to go over each cut twice.

Kathy, I hope you can stay warm and keep your pipes from freezing!

Afternoon all,

well we are up to 64 and very pleasant out so I opened all the windows I could. When the wind starts up late afternoon, as it always does I will have to close most of the windows or freeze. I dont want to turn on the electric heater until I absolutely have to. I hate BIG electric bills.

I got all my FE gifts boxed up and ready to put in the suitcases.:thumbsup2

Now I will think about door signs? Not sure what I am doing this time. I want something different than all the other times.

So I will be messing around with ideas for that this week.

Kathy

Way to go Kathy on finishing your FE's. Me - not done but I will prevail, eventually. I may take a different route as I want to be able to ship mine the week before we sail.

I got my FE gifts together for the kids today. And I dont know how I am going to get all of them there. I kinda went overboard. Thought maybe I would ship them but I dont know.

Linda I need to talk to you about this cricut. I'm confused.

I can't help with your cricut (other than I am jealous) but I have shipped to the port several times so if you have questions, ask away and I will be happy to respond. Works like a charm and I have never had an issue. In fact it has always been in our cabin when we arrive.
