November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

Luckily, when one of you got upgraded, we paid a small fee and snuck into a vacated SPH cabin, so that will be nice.

Chris, Svetla, Sean & Sam

LOL! I bet that would be our old room. Is it 5524? If so, I can't believe it was open that long - several weeks. Usually there is a long waitlist for those rooms. It's a long story but when the FL rates hit, we upgraded from that room to a Cat 6, then got hold of our senses and went back to our standard Cat 9, - $800 cheaper than the Cat 6.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Sorry for the multiple posts here but I haven't checked in here for several days and darn it, you've added at least 7 pages on me! LOL!

Traci - DO NOT apologize for passing on the list. :worship:THANK YOU for everything you've done. Like the FEs, this is all supposed to be fun, not stressful!

As for dining rotations, our group will free up a couple of spots on the first rotation. We have 4 families linked, but 2 are on late seating, 2 on early. We're going to all stay on "late". Even with the little ones (4 kids ages 3-5), late still works out better. Plus, we LOVE the "Dine n Play" program they have on second seating where the counselors come in at 9pm and take the kids to the clubs!:thumbsup2

Being local, we don't really get to do any exciting "pre-cruise" events, but we did just book an overnight stay at Disney on Oct 24th for 5 couples (3 that are cruising) for the EPCOT Food n Wine Festival! I'm sooo excited.... I've always wanted to have and Adults Only trip to the Festival. Woo Hoo! (Sorry kids!)
Don't feel too badly for our kids... we have annual passes so they are far from deprived!!!

Congrats on all those that got Pixie Dust. This will be our 8th cruise and never, ever an upgrade so not expecting one this time. But, FL rates are exciting enough! (And, yes, we've known many FL rates that have been upgraded - doesn't seem to matter).

Boy am I behind!! Been a busy couple of weeks here, I seem to be meeting myself coming and going. :confused3 Don't ask me what I have been doing, cause I am not real sure myself, but between grandkids and working all the time, I am staying busy.
Traci, glad you and Nate are feeling better. Congrats on the new car!! I agree with everyone, you have done a wonderful job of keeping up with the FE list so far, so please don't feel bad!!
Gail, great shots of your boys playing soccer, and I agree with everyone, Earl of Sandwich is a great place to eat. I personally love their tomato soup!! And the Chinese Chicken salad is also great. As for the sandwiches, we have never had one that we didn't like. But save room and go get a sundae at G's (yep, I don't know how to spell it either)
Kathy, I feel for ya with the dogs, we used to have a pair of Malamutes, and let me tell you, when they would take off, there was no way to hold them. I was like you, I just let go of the leash and prayed for the best. Then we had a greyhound and the same thing, don't let her see a cat!:scared1: You'd think they used cats to train them to run. Mine would actually run after cats, rabbits, squirells, anything small.
Welcome to all who have joined since I last posted. :welcome:
I have been working on FE gifts, I will do a few more for any who join after today, as for the cut off, I agree, I will just make up enough for those who sign up as of a certain date, and then will take a few things for anyone who join afterwards. We will be leaving here the week before the cruise, so that will probably be my last day to make things.
I do have a question about the scrap page exchange. I was under the impression that we were making one page and then putting it together for a swap? Is everyone doing enough of the same page for everyone? So we would be putting together 7-10 pages? Just trying to think if I can come up with a creative idea, not a problem to duplicate the page, but be forwarned, I am a beginner so my idea may not be as creative as some of yours. But count me in, if you don't mind a simple design. Just let me know how many pages I need to make. I will have to think about what I would like to use for a subject, maybe embarkation day? Let me know what you guys think.
Well, I need to go pack my lunch for tomorrow. Talk to everyone later.
Vickie

Well thanks to everyone for being so nice about the FE. I am just all over the place right now and I dont want to let our group down. I am so glad to have the chance to meet such great people. Well we havent met yet but you know what I mean.:grouphug:

I am so excited about the cruise and I have done some major shopping this weekend. The only thing I dont have together is a formal dress. How formal do you ladies get? I have a dress for Palo and semi formal. We have late dinner seating how many other do?

Well going to get to bed. I am super tired.:cloud9:

Oh Linda - how can it be that I checked in before you??? I hope your internet and PC are OK as are you and yours - but if so, then let the teasing begin!

Traci - NO WORRIES - be happy! You have done an awesome job with the FE list and keeping it updated.

OK, pretty soon we will all be able to say that we are going on a cruise next month. This will be a busy week for me with the wedding on Saturday so if I am absent, you will know where I am.

Take care all and have a great week.

Well, here's my first post (hey, better late than never, no?). Our cruisemates have only been prompting me for a few months now! Traveling with Tiggerzfan, ILoveAllThingsDisney and Higgies. We can't wait!!!!

Traveling with DH, DS(8) and DD(5)

Vickie

Hi Vickie,

One page idea on one topic x 10 copies.

Correct me if I'm wrong Laurie, I think We decided if it was too difficult to pack a 12 x 12 page, to just bring the ingredients for the page in a ziplock bag (one per person). I, myself, am actually assembling my page, because of it's complexity, and bringing them in page protectors.

If you have trouble finding an idea, search for "page maps" or "scrapbook Sketches". there are dozens of them on the internet.

Have fun!

Oh sorry I didnt answer the ? I am going to make the items x 10 for everyone to use on their pages.

oh, and embarkation day sounds fine. When I get on the other computer, I'll post the list again with that after your name - unless Laurie gets here first. lol

Gayle - I was up but running late so had to go out to the gym, pool, pharmacy, make breakfast, etc before I could get on! We're all fine, thanks for asking.

Hi DJ! Welcome aboard!

Welcome Denise Nice to see you posting:cool1:

Would you like to have a spot on our cruise mates list? You can ask Donna what its all about if your interested. I will be sending out a revised copy soon.

I was just hoping for a couple more room numbers to be sent to me now that they are available before I send it.
Cool and cloudy today, rain coming in tomorrow. I guess fall is finally here:sad2: I hate to see summer go.

Traci, some are very formal with gowns and tuxes but most I see go more with a semi formal look. Its up to you. I dont like to dress up formal. I know its odd but thats just the way I am. So I wear a dark blue velveteen dress that comes to just above the knee and has long sleeves.
It is not formal but i have never felt out of place in it.
I see many dressy pant suits on formal night too. Mostly dark colors with bright silver or gold trim. They look really nice.

Vicki, I cant imagine walking your HUGE dogs. Thats worse than mine:lmao:
Pixie's father was a greyhound. She looks more like her mom (lab) but when she runs it is 12 feet between her strides, she is so fast. Thats when the greyhound in her can be seen.

Hi Mike, you gotta be fast to keep up with us. Wait until the cruise gets closer then we will really chat alot. My last 2 cruises it was normal to do up to 25 to 30 pages in one day:eek: One day I think we did 41 pages.:worship: The thread was started a little over a year out and at 250 pages you have to start a new thread. I think we did 11 threads one time. Thats alot of posting.

Have a great Monday everyone,

Kathy

yup, we got 5524. When we got switched to the FL rate, we moved from a CAT 12 GTY to a CAT 11 GTY and missed the pixie dust. When I noticed the room assignmenst were out I figured for $100 I would switch to the SPH. We don't spend much time in the room but it is nice to have some sunlight, so this cabin will work out perfectly. Thanks for upgrading so a cheapo like me can take advantage.

My formal dress is just a short-sleeved black chiffon dress that goes to my knee. It's really like a cocktail dress or a little black dress. Kathy is right, on formal night there are all sorts, from very formal, cocktail dresses, pantsuits, Sunday dresses, to pants. You could wear what you are wearing to Palo.

From post 1339:
Back to the scrapbooking swap, how about we just say that we can either do a page, or a bag, or some cross between the two. (for example someone might put some double mats together, make a border or title, put some appropriate quotes on to mats, some decorative tags, stickers etc. and put it into a bag without a page behind it, but there would still be some creativity there - this is what I was kind of thinking about) Then for those who want to put together a page, great, and those would find it easier to travel with pieces, that is fine too.

In the ensuing discussion, we decided to make 10, so we have room for 3 more participants, if anyone else is interested.

Shauna,
my order is correct, Thankyou.
Please tell us how much is it soon so we can pay you. Not sure when your m ailing them out but we are leaving Nov1 for this trip.
If i cant get it before then will you just hold it and give it to us on the ship?

i dont want to miss them.

Kathy
