November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

I'm not sure if this question has been asked and I don't have time to scroll through 143 pages of posts.

The FE list shows for cabin 6610 (Kathleen and Brent- Alexi and Colin)....but a few people down it says for cabin 6636 (Jeff and Robyn- Alexi and Colin).

Was this a typo or do these two families have the same aged children with the exact same names? =)

I need to know asap so I can get their gifts straightened out. I went ahead and made a boy and girl bag for EACH room but would like to know who is where and what ages so I make sure the gifts are age appropriate (as in for ages 3+).

Thanks everyone! =)

Everyone seems to be ready to pack up and GO!
Danielle, sorry about your poor dog
Tanya, good luck crossing the border!
LTR Kathy, also loved the glow stick story (how many of us with kids have at least one "uh-oh" incident!)
Yay for the power going back on! We lost ours for about 12 hours and that was a pain!
Wishing everyone safe travels, good weather and look forward to saying hello on Saturday. I have a busy day at school tomorrow and Friday so I'll be coming home and packing until it's done-and supervising my DH's wardrobe selections!

See you Saturday!

Sandy :)

No, this is not a typo. From what I have understood, Jeff in cabin 6636 is Kathleen's Ex, so Alexi and Colin's dad is Jeff in cabin 6636 and their mom is Kathleen in cabin 6610. So, what they've requested for FE's is if you have a specific gift for the kids (Alexi and Colin), only give ONE gift, and you can put it either in 6636's FE or 6610's FE because the kids will be going back and forth between cabins. But, if you have a specific gift only for the adults in the cabins, then in that case, you would give one to Jeff and Robyn in 6636 and one to Kathleen and Brent in 6610.

However, if you have just one gift just for families (not specific to kids or adults), then you can put one in both the FE of 6636 and 6610 since it'd be for all the poeple in the cabin to share.

Hope that makes sense!!! (And, I hope I got that right! If I'm wrong, please, somone correct me!)

Kathy

Kathy LTR explained it how I understand it as well

Can't wait to see the Pedi's...
Hope your dog will feel better :goodvibes
Hope the temp will catch on...

Alyssa : Thanks for the pixie dust! hahaha

Work is almost done and only a half day tomorrow...

Tanya

Thanks! Didn't have time for the mani since I didn't leave work an hour late b/c my temp was working sooooo slowly. Got the pedi though!

The dog and I are home from the vet. Poor guy :( They partially sedated him and then cut the remaining nail & quick off. He cried so loudly! I thought he would be sedated enough that he wouldn't feel it, but he wasn't, just sedated enough to not fight. So he's all bandaged up poor guy.

And there goes my packing for the night. It's 9:00 and I am finally able to sit down (well, except for the pedi in the massage chair :rotfl:) and I don't want to deal with it tonight.

Hi everyone!

Just checking in to say hi. :)

Today has been super busy, but I had a small break, so had to check the boards!

Tomorrow we are leaving (our house) but we don't fly to Orlando until Friday morning. Oh, I can't wait!!!

In a couple hours, we are celebrating Tyler's 11th birthday with my parents, so I'm getting ready for that. Then, after my parents leave, the suitcases are coming out!!! My goal is to be totally packed tonight before I go to bed because tomorrow I am pretty booked solid during the whole day with different things, so I really had no time to pack tomorrow. So, I'm very excited!

Looks like half or more than half of the folks here are either already in Orlanda or in route to Orlando... We may be the last ones to actually leave our home town! Oh, I think Michael... you guys are flying Saturday, right?

Anyway, glad the winter storms around the East Coast, North East, and Mid-West are calming down and power is back on, schools are back in session, roads are cleared.... fingers crossed for NO bad weather for anyone who is traveling in the next couple days!! The weather is GREAT here in Seattle... it is cold, but really sunny! Super nice for us! And, the weather is looking really good for flying out on Friday, so we should have zero chance of any weather delays, and we have a direct flight, so once we are in the air, we won't have to worry about any connections, etc... just strait to MCO!

Ok everyone! I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

It's funny, but the last time I met people online and talked to them online for a long time before we met in person was when I was pregnant with my first child 11 years ago... Not sure if any of you know about the website called BabyCenter.com... well, I met some gals on BabyCenter on the public bullentin boards who were due with their first babies the exact same week I was due to have mine, so we chatted online all the way through our pregnancies, and then continued to chat for a year after our babies were born. We all lived in different states. Well, after our babies turned 1, and we were all still friends and still talked on email very often, we decided to all MEET in person for the first time ever! Well, by that time, one other girl had moved to Washington, so since two of us were in Washington, we decided to make Seattle our meeting spot, and it was 4 girls total. It was SO neat... the 4 of us met in person with our babies (who were by then toddlers, and all pretty much the same age), and we all spent the weekend together. One girl and her baby stayed at our house, which was really fun.

Anyway, it is 11 years later, and we all stiill talk all the time, and we've all gotten together at least 4 or 5 times in the past 11 years (now all of us have more than 1 child... so this week is a fun week because all 4 of our "babies" are turning 11 years old this week!!).

Anyway, so this is the 2nd time ever I've met people online and then plan to meet them in person. Should be fun!!!

Take care,
Kathy

Happy Birthday to Tyler! Hope he enjoyed his bday celebration!

It's so funny that you mention BabyCenter boards! I also was a part of Isabella's birth board on BabyCenter! We've branched off a couple times and now there are 8 of us left. We all got together once at my house NJ, there were women from WI, IL, CT, NJ, & VA. Then one woman (who lives close to me in NJ) and I went to Chicago to spend the weekend with one of them.

And so same as you, this is the second time I've met online friends in person!

Have a safe trip! We are one of the last ones to leave too, also heading out Friday night.

Thanks! Tomorrow is Tyler's actual birthday (Nov 3), but we celebrated tonight because we are leaving tomorrow evening to stay at an airport hotel before our early flight Friday morning.

I am exhausted, though, and should be mostly packed by now, but haven't even started packing!!! :scared1: My parents stayed longer than expected (which was totally fine because we were all having a great time), but everyone is gone now, and NOW I need to start packing and it's almost 7:30 PM. I promised myself we'd be totally packed before I went to bed tonight, and the suitcases are still in the garage! :rolleyes1 Might be a late night for me, but that is OK because I'll get my second wind soon. :woohoo:

How funny you also connected with other women on Babycenter! I think that actually happens a lot...

Ok, I better get my suitcases out of the garage now!!

Kathy

Happy Thursday Everyone:yay::yay:

Which can only mean one thing, we leave tomorrow:dance3:

Happy birthday Tyler:bday:party::bday:

This week has flown by so quickly.

We have early dining.

Danielle, sorry to hear about your dog, hope he makes a quick recovery! We also had to take the puppy to the vet last night, he just needed his booster shots.

BT, glad you made it ok! I am not sure i would make it 22 hours in the car with my two kids, i think i would drive of the first bridge that we crossed:rotfl:

Carolyn, congrats on getting your Cabana, i am sure you will enjoy it!

It sounds like some of us have some pretty toes to show off, now all we need is a little warm sunshine:thumbsup2

My kids finally said to me yesterday, "Mom, don't you think we should start packing?" yeah yeah its all under control, i just am waiting for the packing fairy to show up.......pixiedust:

We don't leave until tomorrow afternoon, so i am making the kids go to school, how mean am i! I seriously need that time to pack thought, and i thought going to school would keep them busy:rotfl:

Have a great day everyone

Claire

Happy Birthday Tyler:bday:
Its Sean's birthday too he is just so happy that his name will be on the announcements at school :)
Can't wait till tomorrow we will be on the plane this time tomorrow.
Can't wait to meet you all Saturday, finially!
Well I better get some work done, I am leaving early today hoping by 1p and drive home which is 45 minutes away, get our bags, pick up the kids then head to my parents! Hope everyone has a great day!

Tanya

OK, we are out the door in about 15 minutes. Dog to the boarding place, cats inside, if it's not packed at this point, it is too late. Flight at 1:00 arrive @ 3:30; see everyone in two days!

Just got back from the chiropractor and am now starting to pack. Our flight is tomorrow afternoon so we have a little bit of time left. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to get everything done!

Glad to see that everyone's getting to FL safely!

Hi fellow cruisers!!
So all the replies about my Children Alex (girl) and Colin are correct. Their dad is staying down the hall so FE gifts in either would be greatly appreciated!!
We are on the road! We left Mass and all the snow behind yesterday and stopped at Ft. Bragg for the night. Now we are on the road again.. Can't wait to get there.
We can't make the meet and greet on the 5th because we have to meet with the wedding coordinator :guilty: Our we ding is on the 7th on deck 7 aft, so everyone come by (you can see it from deck 8)
Is there a particular day everone is exchanging FE gifts?

OK, now I am starting to freak. My husband has done the posting on here, and I have enjoyed reading everyones' posts, especially the tips. We booked this cruise a year ago, and here I am today NOT packed at all. The storm last weekend which took out our power really threw a monkey wrench into packing plans; it was too cold in the house to try summer clothes on and decide what to bring. No school, Halloween, half days, husband working on a project, yikes, at some point have to pack. Priorities: pedicure before I pick up the kiddo from school. And I don't know how to put the little smilie icons in :) Actually not even sure if this will post.

OK, just breathe.

Chris

Thanks for all the birthday wishes to Tyler, everyone!! I can't believe my first born is 11 years old.... boy, time really does fly!!

I just got back from the boy's school and dropped off cookies in Tyler's class for Tyler's birthday. :)

Happy Birthday, Sean!!! That is cute they announce his name over the school intercom! Our kid's school is too big to do something like that... So, the teachers just celebrate in the classroom.

Well, we're 90% packed. I just have to throw some things in the suitcases today. Ryan has basketball practice after school today until 6 PM, so after his practice, we'll head straight to the airport hotel we're staying at tonight!

Today, I'm getting a massage (it's a therapeutic massage I go in to get about every 3 weeks for my ankle, and I timed it to get the massage just before our trip so all next week, my ankle HOPEFULLY should not give me any troubles!! :yay: This particular kind of massage really promotes circulation, so it's great for people with joint problems....) and speaking of this, I always laugh when we fly because ever since my ankle injury, my ankle is more prone to swelling now (not really obvious to others, but to me, it's obvious), and so when I fly, I have to wear compression socks!! I call them my "granny" socks... but boy, do they EVER make a difference!! When I get off the plane, my feet and ankles are not swollen at all... where as even before my ankle injury, my feet and ankles would swell on flights (I think that happens to everyone). But, compression socks... they do the trick! And, it saves my ankle, too! :thumbsup2

After my massage, I'm getting my hair cut, and THEN I come home and have 2 hours before the kids get home from school, and that is when I'm going to finish the last minute packing. Then, pick up the kids at 3 PM, they come home for 30 minutes, and then Tyler goes to after school tutoring (he gets tutored at a GREAT place called Huntington Learning Center... they are all over the country), and Ryan goes to basketball practice... and DH and I have to meet with the director at Huntington to see how Tyler's doing.

Then, pick up Tyler at 5:45, pick up Ryan at 6:00, and then we head south on I-5 to the airport.... we are staying at a Double Tree tonight... then our flight leaves at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning!

Woo Hoo!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

Happy & safe travels to those who are leaving today!

No, no particular day the FE gift exchange is... you just put the gifts in the FE any time you want during the cruise. So, this way, there will most likely be something in your FE each day. :)

Sorry we'll miss you at the meet and greet, but I bet you're getting excited about the wedding!!! We'll have to stop by deck 8 to see your wedding!!! What time does the wedding start??

Well, the good news is that no matter what you bring or don't bring in your suitcase, you still be on the ship... once you get on the ship, the things you may have forgotten suddenly won't matter much! :woohoo:

Good luck!!

Ok, everyone!! Can't wait to meet you all.... see you all at 3 PM on Saturday! Wow, can't believe it's practically here! :)

Kathy

This time tomorrow Mom and I should be on final descent into Kansas City completing the first leg of our flights!!

Michelle

Kathy, you are right, whatever is in the bag will have to do! LOL.

Pedi done! Priorities!! Kiddo picked up and now time to pack. I am getting very psyched, but it seems like a long way til Orlando. Flying out tomorrow afternoon. I think I will begin to chill when we are at the airport.

BTW we did the Western Caribbean on the Magic 3 years ago and my daughter says it was the best trip ever. I think so, too. :-) :yay: She has had a countdown in her room for a year.

I have a question. It's possible it has already been answered, but my husband asked me to find out if there is an iPod dock station in the room so we don't need to bring it.

Thanks!!
Chris
