November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Lots of great ideas for names the last 2 days. I have all of them on a list and I will post the list for everyone so they can see all of them at once. Then you can vote on them.

Be thinking if you want a private note or public vote. If we do private we will ask someone who didnt suggest a name to count the votes and everyone will PM or e-mail them their vote.

Public we just post it and count the votes. Maybe we should say have all suggestions in by Thursday, then I can post the list on friday .

So by friday we must decide how you want to vote on it. Then vote over the
weekend and on Monday the vote counter can announce the winner.:thumbsup2

Does that sound agreeable with everyone????
Kathy

Sounds good to me. I don't care if the vote is public or private. Whichever name everyone likes is great by us. Thanks for tallying up the suggestions.

Here are P)oncho and Lefty, the Ring Bearers. They are waiting not so patiently for the ceremony.:goodvibes

This is Lefty, you can see the lace collar better in this photo and they tied the rings to the collars just before the ceremony.

Back later with the bride and groom,

Kathy

OH they are so cute!
I am good with private or public vote...
Hope everyone's night is going well, the kids are just finishing their snacks and bed... It is raining here tonight... It is to be nice here tomorrow, must put some laundry away....:laundy:

MY DW traded my services. She had me reload a friend of ours computer. In exchange this retired home EC teacher helper her make this FE.

I was also in charge of printing Magnets, and print onto some inkjet fabric that irons on.... Whoever would have thought Magnets, and Fabric that goes into an inkjet! Hmmm! Just doesn't sound right.

The totes, FE, and the Apron turned out well. Here is a photo of the FE and on of my DD favorite magnets.

See, I didn't really do a door sign, I printed off pictures of Mickey Characters and then cut them out.

Oh, and I haven't been following this as much as I should but I don't really have a preference for a group name....so whatever is chosen works for me.

Tim,

the FE is really cute. It came out great.:goodvibes

I love the magnet, although Disney may not see the humor in it:rotfl2:

I have seen it before and thought it was hilarious.

Kathy

Switzert: Good FE! Love the picture, never seen that before!:rotfl2:

Kathy(Gma): Public or private vote doesn't matter

Karen (GSO): Good names, I like them all. ;)

Alyssa (MulanRocks): I understand the picture posting thing. I can't post pictures of my own kids. We have a family policy that we don't post pics of our children. We are not on Facebook and have asked family to remove pictures of our kids from theirs. I have been very tempted to post our pictures but in keeping with the policy that we have enforced on others, we cant!

Tanya (Flygrl): Those apple desserts sound wonderful! I bought an "old timey" apple at lunch today. Not sure what old timey means for an apple but I can tell you that it reminds me of apples as a child, apples these days just aren't the same. :snooty:

I'm as excited as a kid...

Hi All,

Hope you all had a good day...

We just got home a little bit ago from dropping DH off at the airport... :sad1: He has a long journey ahead of him.... luckily, for him, they send him business class, so he can sleep well since those seats on the 747's and 777's fold down almost into beds. But, it's going be a long haul flight reglardless!! So, he gets home Oct 1. I'll be counting down the days!

Kathy, I love the dogs pictures!!!! So cute, and so cute they were the ring bearers... I loved the lace collars! Adorable. :) Can't wait to see more pictures!!

and, as for the vote for the name, I totally don't care if it's public or private... :)

This is my first cruise meet I've been involved in, so I don't know much about the group name. Will the group name be used on the cruise itself... like be printed out somewhere?? Or is it just for these boards?? Just curious how the group name is used, and that might help people decide which name they like best.

Thanks!!!
Kathy

Kathy,
Then name is just a fun thing to do. It will be on our CM and FE lst I send out. If the OP for this thread was still coming along they could change the cruiser title to our name and its easier to find. Nobody else can change the title accept her and she cancelled, although once we have a name I could send her a PM and aks her to change it if she would.

It wont be posted anywhere but here, just for us.

Just one more thing to bring us together as a group.:goodvibes

Oh, that is so cool! I didn't really know why there was a name (but it just sounded like fun!), but now I know why the meet groups get names, that is great! Yes, we should definitely vote on a name pretty soon. :thumbsup2

Our group cruise name on our Western cruise last year was "Mickeys not so scary Halloween Cruise" maybe that will inspire people to come up with a name…I am still thinking about it and asked my kids what they think!

Happy Tuesday everyone:yay:

Gma Kathy- The dogs are too cute with their special collars.

LTR Kathy- Hope the time goes by quickly while your DH is gone! How are you feeling?

Tim- The FE is great! and that magnet is hysterical, I've never seen it before. DD would love it!

Alyssa- I'm a little slow here so forgive me if you've explained before, do you live with the family whose kids you care for? Is the family also going on the cruise or just you & DH?

As for a vote on the names, can we do it as a poll? I've never tried to set one up here, would it have to be a new thread? Public or Private is fine with me, just seems like a poll might be less work.

Danielle, Thanks... I hope the time goes by quickly, too! I got an email from DH and he made it to London at 3 AM our time, and so now he's on his way to India. I have no issues at all with flying what-so-ever, but when DH flies by himself, especially long international flights, I do get nervous and just can't wait to hear that he's on the ground! I just get nervous when the kids and I are here by ourselves, and he's flying on the other side of the world from us. But, he always flies major airlines that follow all TSA guidelines, so that always makes me feel way more at ease. I am pretty independant, so it's not a big deal to take care of the kids on my own, so that is not necessarily why I don't like it when DH is gone, but I don't like it just because I purely miss him! The boys miss him, too. I'm just glad he only has to travel like this only a few times a year. I grew up in a family where my dad had to travel a TON, and after adding up all the days he was gone, it added up to about 6-7 months out of the year... my dad always told me when I get married to make sure I don't marry someone who has to travel allt he time for his job. :) So, since I grew up in a family where my dad travelled for a living, I feel like I know well how to deal with the kids/house, etc. when Eric travels, but I'm very glad he does not travel like my dad did!! :) I could not handle that.... I still don't know how my mom did it, and that was with 3 kids, and my oldest brother was special needs, which was a lot of work, and we had no family at all that lived near us to help since we lived up in Alaska... all of our family lived in the "lower 48". So, I always think of my mom as a total trooper! So, I'm glad Eric only goes about once every 3 months for just about 10 - 12 days, which is nothing compared to how much my dad travelled.

I am feeling about the same... still feel like this head cold could take a turn for the worse, or a turn for the better.... kind of just right on the edge. I've still been taking tons of vitimin C, drinking Arbornne (immune system booster), and trying to get sleep... so I'm hoping soon, it'll take a turn for the better and I will beat this thing!! Our weather just turned from summer weather to more fall-ish weather, and so I think it's the change in weather that caused me to get this head cold.

I like the idea of a poll, too! I don't know how to do those on here, though. That does seem easiest and very straight forward. :)

Oh, and Tim, I agree... I love that princess magnet!!! SOOOOO funny! Since I'm in a family with all males, that magnet would not work for our door, but I really love it!! :) :) haha!!!!

GMA Kathy - I love the pix of the dogs. It is amazing that they were so well behaved and good for the ceremony. My sister-in-law wanted her dog to be in the wedding party but her mom/my MIL wouldn't let her do it.

We had a rough AM today. Some days it is just too hard to get everyone out the door on time. DH had TV commercials running today and he's going to be very busy and was anxious to get going. Curly the dog needed to go to dog daycare because we've been busy and he needs some playtime. DS had school and I had to go to work. I miss the days (12 years) I worked at IBM and worked from home for most of that. I wish all biz's would allow telecommuting fulltime. It just makes it easier and less stressful for working parents - not to mention savings on gas, clothes, wear and tear on your car. I have so many scratches and dings on my car from this parking lot. Urgh.

Today marks 45 days until we leave for our cruise. I am going to make a countdown calendar for DS to cross off each day. Hope everyone has a great and non-stressful day!

Karen:flower3:

Good morning everyone,

Lots of posts to catch up on today.

I FINALLY got my count down chain done yesterday and put it on our window ledge. Its for the last 30 days before we leave for vacation instead of the actual cruise date. We leave Oct 28th. On soem of the links I wrote reminds about making a detailed packing list, chargers for camera and phones,FE list and stuff like that. Hopefully it will help my memory to not forget too much this year. I always wind up forgetting something on every trip. I am lucky its usually not something really important.

A poll sounds great but I have no idea how to set one up:confused3

Remember everyone to keep posting your ideas and I will add them to the 12 names we have already. We will have some great choices. It will be hard for me to decide which to vote for.

Kathy

Looks like we could start a new thread on the Cruise Meets Forum for the poll. I'll be happy to set it up if you want to PMe me the choices Kathy. We can have 12 total choices and that's what we have now so it would work. I'll post a link to the poll when it's up.

Ok,
we have 10 right now, so lets see if we can get 2 more ideas, then I iwll send them all to you.:thumbsup2
Thanks for checking that out for us.

Dainelle: I dont live with family, although I'm here so much I might as well. It will be just DH and I on the cruise for sure. One week from today I am traveling with my bosses and charges to WDW, for the girls first Disney trip. DH is very jealous.
Today I took the girls to play in bouncy houses, and worked to finalize our trip schedule for Disney. tomorrow is the 21st so we shall see if this cruise pops up on the cast member discount, crossing my fingers so my parents can come too. Also switched around my volunteer days for the zoo, so much to do in preparation, 45 days are really short!
Switzert: love the magnet!
Kathy(ltr): it's hard when loved ones travel. My dad was 26 yrs navy and he would be gone for 6 months at time then home for 3 weeks and gone again. How my mom could stand it I don't know. I said I'd never want my husband gone that much then we joined the air force, oh well best laid plans and all. Hope your cold goes away fast! And your DH makes it every where safe and sound.
Alright one stab at a name: Mickey's sailing Sparrows

Thanks for the group name. I added it to the list.
We need one more to make the limit of 12 for the poll.

Who else has an idea for a name??

Kathy

I am having problems with posting photos today, our internet is all messed up as usual.
Hopefully tomorrow I can post a few.
