November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

FYI,
I did find a Pirate T-Shirt I thought was funny. I'll have to run in by my wife for approval. I douby it. It has a pirate crossbones the slogan "Share the Booty". Just don't know if DCL is the right atmosphere:rolleyes1 for the double meaning.

Officially Vetoed. lol:lmao: I knew that would fly like a lead Balloon.
Her reactions was :scared1:. She didn't know pirates treasure was called booty. She totally took it the wrong way! It was hilariously funny.

pirate: Pirate Booty jokes are now off limits. lol pirate:

You should buy her a bag of Pirate's Booty as a gift. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

This stuff is the best! :) :)

My husband has lots of pirate T shirts and we also have pirate mugs. Souvenirs from cruises. Lots of great sayings on them too.:lmao:

I love those shirts, not obscene ones but funny ones like we have.

Kathy, you are right that stuff is awesome! It's hard to find here in NC. I first saw it at our co-op, now I see that Harris Teeter is carrying it. It was all sold out today at the co-op.

Interesting! Pirate's Booty is in every grocery store here... so easy to find! I wonder why it's hard to find in NC. Maybe Washingtonions are just more Pirate-ish people... "Aaarrrggghhh!" pirate: :lmao: :lmao:

Feel free to give us canadian whiskey! NC only famous drink is moonshine which all the pre-NASCAR drivers used to run away from the sheriffs, which eventually grew into NASCAR. Now it is actually legal to brew and sell in certain parts of the state.

Scott

I actually saw, on another board, where someone from NC gave small bottles of the legal moonshine as FE gifts. I thought about doing that, as I am doing NC themed FE's for the adults, but I know everyone doesn't drink alcohol. I'm not giving away any surprises, but it's not a big deal. I like giving consumables as gifts in general (I'm all about reducing, recycling and reusing) and I read somewhere that food for FE's was appreciated because of the high cost of snacks onboard. Folks like taking them to the shows from what I read. I will not give any food items to those with allergies so if anyone else on the FE list has food allergies, please let gma Kathy know so she can list it.

Don't forget about the Cheerwine! I was going to do that for FE's but I thought about the pain of lugging cans of drinks around!

:rotfl:Funny! I've always thought most everything starts on the west coast. Some things good, some not so good, but that gets political and that is something I'm not! Hey, probably not too many Disney fans are;). NC should be into to it, Blackbeard had roots here :rotfl2:.

Most definitely! She was bumped up to the Edge in May just a month before her 11th birthday because she was disappointed with the young ages in the Lab. I think it may have been an anomaly to our cruise, but I don't think there was anyone in the Lab over the age of 8.

PM me and maybe we can get the girls chatting. Do you have more than 1 child? DD11 is my only one and I would LOVE her to have a friend to hang out with, especially since the Edge is a check-yourself-in-and-out kind of place.

I am going to PM you now.........

I grew up on the west coast and we believed everything started on the east coast:rotfl2:

Good night all,

How funny! Me too!! It always seems to me like things start on the East Coast and eventually make it to the West Coast. :rotfl2:

Well, who knows... Maybe it's Starbucks, Microsoft and Boeing which all started here, that give the illusion that everything starts on the West Coast and ends up on the East Coast. :rotfl:

Although, I still remember back when Starbucks first opened and it was HUGE here in Seattle (still is huge), I went back to Massachusetts to visit my family who live in Boston. We stayed at a hotel, and I tried to order a latte with my breakfast at the hotel restaurant (it was a major hotel, like a Hilton) and I got the oddest looks... nobody knew what that was! I was stunned... I just thought EVERYONE walks around with Latte's in their hands... but then I realized Starbucks hadn't hit New England yet! :lmao: So, I had to settle for drip coffee. :lmao: But, now, there are Starbuck's EVERYWHERE! So, yes, there are things that start on the West Coast and make their way to the East Coast, but it still seems to me like things start on the East Coast and end up here on the West Coast.

Happy Thursday all:yay:

I am so glad that it is almost the weekend, its been a busy week....

This weekend we have to get DD passport, as it just expired! Can't believe that she is only 11 and is on passport #3!!

I was just wondering...Who is dressing up for pirate night? We all dressed up the first 2 times, but i think it maybe just our kids dressing up this time around!

We are total newbies to Disney cruising and I think you all will be shocked when I tell you that we do not have arrangements to get to the port yet! Costco advised me to rent a car and turn it in at the port, but I haven't looked in to it yet. Are there rental car agencies at port? I get the impression that the DCL transport is kind of pricey. We are flying in on friday and staying over at a hotel in cocoa beach. any advice from you veterans?

We have Starbucks here but our main coffee place is Tim Horton's yummmy, can't wait to get mine on break today... :woohoo:

Hope everyone had a good night, Big Brother was good, I am glad Rachel won, I rooted for her last season even though she is annoying. I am just glad Porsche didn't win.

Our flight got change for Departure for the day we are leaving to Florida so we are leaving 45 minutes earlier, which I am ok with :)

We have rented from Budget the last two times, and plan on doing so this time.Their office is right in the airport and then close to the port. We will pick it up Friday, then drive to the port. My DH normally drops us off at the port in the morning and then goes and returns the car, then he gets the free Budget shuttle back to the port. As long as you have all the pasports, you do not need DH to check in (unless it has changed)

On the day we get off the ship, DH gets the Budget shuttle to the rental office and then comes back to the port to pick us up. It is about $35 a day for the rental car!

I don't think Darcie and I will dress up... The kids for sure will, bought a few things for it.
As for car rentals, I am new at this too but we are renting a car from Hertz at the airport for the day we arrive which is the day before, we did rent another car from them for the 12th and we will drive ourselves to the airport to head back home :(

I was disappointed that Rachel won she is just so annoying, but then i didn't really want Adam or Porsche to win!

AH! I hadn't watched yet! I knew I would I wouldn't get through the day without finding out. I was so mad that it was on at 9:30-11:00, I just could not stay up to watch so I DVR'd the whole thing.

I forgot to mention, no food allergies for us.

I'm still unsure of my FE gifts. :confused3

I used to buy Veggie Booty all the time for Isabella, but I don't think I have since that recall several years ago.

As for dressing up, I'm sure I won't be able to get DH to. Isabella will want to & I might do something, but she'll want us to match so I don't know. I plan on seeing what's available post halloween. Unless I can get her to be a pirate for halloween, then I'd get her something cute.

Hi everyone,

Car rentals work good(as stated above) or if you rent a car to get to you hotel friday evening, then turn the car in friday night and stay at a hotel that offers a shuttle to the port. I know the Radisson has a shuttle and so do a couple others. Some rental places are close enough to walk back to your hotel.
They will pick you up when you return, then pick up your rental or just wait at the port while DH catches a shuttle to the car rental place and then come back and pick you up. Either way works.

We use DcL because welike th eno hassle of running back and forth on our vacation and the movie and cartoons they show on the bus get you pumped for the cruise. W can sit back and enjoy the view and no worries about traffic or getting lost, although we know the way since we use to live there,

Kathy

Pirate night:

I love dressing up in my pirate clothes for pirate night. The more who dress up the more fun it is. However when we moved 3 years ago it was packed and now I dont know where it is?? Still have some things stored , plus movers lost some things, so if I find it I will dress up from head to toe:goodvibes
If not I will wear a pirate t-shirt. Greg always wear a pirate t-shirt too.

Has anyone done either of these excursions?
The Doubloon Turtle Cove Sail and Snorkle
OR
Tortola Dolphin Encounter? What do you think? Are they fabulous? Is it worth it?

ALSO... looking at the onboard spa services. How do you feel about those? Are they that wonderful or just overpriced? Thought I might buy a gift for my Mom, but only if it's a really great experience.

SOOOO if anyone can give me some feedback, advice, or opinions from past experience or word of mouth, it would help me decide to book these things or not.

Do you all do online check-in? Saw that on there while poking around these other areas.
