November 3rd: 4 night Disney Dream - Who is joing us?

Hi. We also signed up for this cruise during our double dip last August. We are two mature adults but tend to act like kids on our cruises. This will be our 6th cruise, all DCL. We are also DVC owners and would like to meet other owners if there are any on our cruise.

My sister and I are meeting at WDW on October 24th, staying at OKW. As she is leaving for home on Nov 2nd, my DH will be driving down to spend the night at OKW, then we'll drive to Port Canaveral the next morning and hop on the Dream. We'll be on Deck 6 in a category 05D stateroom, with plenty of door magnets in place so we can find our room in that long passageway. :thumbsup2

Looking forward to continuing this discussion as the cruise date gets closer. :coffee:

We will be on this cruise also. We will have two friends with us and cant wait. We are on our 6th cruise on all ships. We love Disney Cruise line and have tried others, but Disney is the best.

Hi!! My family and I will be sailing for the first time on the Dream! We are SO excited! I sent a request for the FB page and would definitely love to join the FE exchange! There are 12 of us traveling (6 kids), so let me know what I need to know about it please!! Also, will there be a pirate night on this cruise?

Thanks!!
Jenn

Welcome aboard!!! You really gonna love the cruise and the Dream itself. She's a fine ship!!!! You may never see the children. The kids clubs are awesome. Not sure about the FB page. I have yet to get any info unfortunately and we opted out of the FE this trip because we had such an awesome group our last cruise we were overwhelmed with things to bring home. But it is a blast.

All the food is great, SEE ALL THE SHOWS, catch a movie in the theater, stop at the Cove cafe and grab a great coffee or latte (extra fee but pastries are free and yummy), turn off your cell phone completely once we leave port (I don't even trust it being on for the camera), enjoy Sail away Party but head to front of the ship for the best views and sometimes a dolphin (you'll find us there), stop at all the adult venues (free snacks are out in Evolutions late night), take a ship tour, try to hit the adult beach on Castaway Cay while kids are in the club (better food choices there for lunch, shhhhhh), try the Aquaduck, don't attempt the pools, they are just too overcrowded or go when its dinner time, not lunch. Oh and mostly....HAVE FUN!!!!

I feel like such a slacker! I offered to create a FB page ...then...well...life Lina got in the way. So sty all. But I see the page has been created.....can u add me...plz...plz...plz! I have quite a few comments. Unfortunately I didn't think to comment as I read...lol.
1. Someone mentioned this is part of a b2b. Is ur other cruise prior? We will be on the dream 10/27-11/7
2. Can I get info on the fish extender group?
3.I have a DS9 any interested in letting the boys get to one another b4 the cruise? My son is nervous abt having to make new friends 3 times.
4. Any special group gatherings planned?
5. Congrats on the baby!!!

I have to look at the calendar to which cruise happens on Thursday. Someone is watching scandal with me!!

Just booked this cruise for myself and my daughter.

It's been a tough year for us due to some family dynamic changing and I wanted to give her a little getaway. My younger daughter did not want to go which I am pretty sad about :guilty: but it will give my older daughter a chance for some time with dad and I'll take the younger one on another trip sometime.

This will be her first cruise, she is 10. I've only been on one other cruise and it wasn't Disney. It was only 2 nights.

Really looking forward to this. I joined the FB page and waiting for my request to be approved. My friend and his family is going as well and I see he is already on the facebook group. Can't wait for the fun. Going for 4 nights in the parks after.

Hi all... The day just keeps getting closer and closer... If anyone has not gone to the FB page to join the FE group, come on over.... I think they will be closing the FE on September 1st. We had also talked about forming a second FE group for those that wanted to participate, but joined after September 1st.

It is so exciting!!!!

Unbelievable!!:cool1: Here I am on Cruise Critic, posting for SEVEN months almost, with a total of TWO responses, wondering where the heck is everybody??? Suddenly it occurred to me to check the Disboards ( even though I didn't think anybody would have a thread for this sailing,LOL..) , and voila!!

OK, here's my info: DW & I have been on 28 total cruises so far ( Dream will be # 29) , this will be our 2nd on Disney ( 1st Wonder in '06)...as I am reading Gambee's amazing review with pictures to die for on CC, we are getting soooo excited to see the Dream...so what's happening as far as a "meet & greet" meeting? Anybody allowed to come? Where, when,etc...we have no kids, as we got married late in our lives...looking forward to meeting everybody as well as Mr. Escargots, Mr. Eggs Benedict, Mr. Brownie, Mr. Beer, and Mr. Karaoke ( which I won Adventure Of The Seas in 2005, "Karaoke Idol",:goodvibes LOL!!)...this is a birthday cruise for me and delayed one (10/13) for my wife, who is from Peru ( BTW, anybody on here speak Spanish??)....I will notify the few on CC about you all...Hoping to hear from someone soon...

Hi Big Al, I just posted to the FB group asking one of the admins to try to help you join the group. We are pretty active, so that should be good. Are you interested in the FE group? Cuz the sign ups for that end on September 1st... Have a great day!!!

Tell about the FE group..we don't have any children, so anything involving kids probably is not for us..but we are into a "Meet & Greet" type thing..

DH and I are kidless on this cruise as well, but still doing the fish exchange. It is something you sign up for by cabin, hang a "FE" outside your cabin door and exchange little gifts with other folks. It is anything that has a pocket so the gifts can go in something. Some folks do it and some don't. My DH is not into it, but I keep hoping that he will change, lol..... Welcome aboard! I think you were approved for the FB group.

Thanks, Betsy, I think I was approved, too, thanks for your help:thumbsup2...yes, the gift exchange is done on other cruise lines as well..most men think it's a bit silly;), but we've done it before and I'll ask Teresa if she wants to do it...I take it you're an RN..I was a Pharmaceutical Rep for 23 years till Merck took over our company and released 2000 of us on one day...

Oh I am so sorry to hear that!!! The medical field has definitely changed in the past several years. I am a nurse practitioner at a local cancer center. I work so I can do fun things like take cruises and vacations... Lol

Hi everybody. Only a couple months to go!
Just got an email from DCL asking if we'd like to upgrade from cat. 5D to 4A for $49. It's a larger room and takes us from deck 6 up to deck 9. There are just two of us, but we could always use more room, so I think we're going to go for it. Anybody else get an upgrade offer?
The difference in fare between Cat 5D and 4A is $256, so the offer for $49 is pretty good.
(I posted this on the Facebook group page, too.)

We are booked on this cruise with my MIL and SFIL and 4 kids. This is my first time cruising DCL, but my fourth cruise. This is also my first time cruising with my kids. I hope they realize cruising with Mom and Dad is going to be different then just cruising with Grandma and Grandpa. 3 out of the 4 kids are all DCL returning travelers. 1 of which this will be his 3rd DCL cruise. I am bummed that my oldest will be too old for the Oceaneers club, but am hopeful she will find some kids to hang out with. Hanging all over me isn't gonna cut it. I am slowly getting excited about this trip. Life has been too busy to focus on it much until this point. Now that we are just 2 short months away, time to get planning.

Welcome aboard! It will be interesting to hear how you like DCL compared with the other cruise lines.

I am sure Disney will do it right. It's the cruising with the children and in-laws that has me scared.
