November 30th Waitlist

Hi all!

I'm so sorry to ask another waitlist question, but you all are the best and I have never waitlisted before!

We are booked at OKW November 29th in a studio, and are waitlisted for a OKW studio (hopefully) or 1 bedroom for the 30th, then are booked December 1 - 9th in a OKW studio.

The 30th seems to be totally sold out everywhere in the DVC resorts which is understandable. I have a couple of weeks until it would be 31 days before. I know I could put a cash reservation on hold for POPS while waiting. Do you think there is any chance of the waitlist coming through? When do you call it quits and just decide it's not going to happen?

Instead of moving back and forth for one night, we were also thinking of using some extra points at Port Orleans French Quarters (our happy place before DVC) for the 29th and 30th if our wait list did not come through - although I hate using the points. There is availability now, but who knows for how long.

How often do you call to check on your waitlist situation? Since it is so close to the 31 day mark, is everyday too often? Will I make them crazy?

I too am on a waitlist but for a 1 bedroom at OKW for the 29th & 30th. I currently have a studio booked for the 29th & 30th, so let's both keep our fingers crossed and maybe I'll get my 1 bedroom and you can have my studio, at least for the 30th.

I've had a lot of luck being on the waitlist. I think you have a good chance of it coming through as many of mine came in around that 31 day mark and OKW is such a large resort that I suspect there will be some cancels.

If I were in your situation, I'd call everyday for the 30th. Like I mentioned, OKW is a large resort, so there could be someone cancelling everyday and you don't want to miss the chance that someone cancelled for 11/30 and not picking it up as soon as it's available.

If you'd like, I can PM if I hear on my 1 bedroom coming through and you can then call because my studio for 11/29 & 11/30 will be available. I suspect you may hear something before me, as I was just put on the waitlist this weekend, however, I will still contact you if I hear something about my waitlist.
