November 30, 2013 - Walt turns 112 on the Wonder

Is anyone going to the beach in cozumel? I'm trying to figure out if it's safe to take small children ashore here?

We are not going to the beach (well, I think our tour here has an hour at a beach) because of where we currently live (7 miles from Galveston) and where we're from (Tampa), lol. BUT we are taking our son on our excursion with us. We went to Cozumel on one of our other cruises and I never felt unsafe. I don't think we'd dock there if it was bad. :goodvibes

Where's our FE document? I need to change our stateroom # to 7116!

SO excited about that. I'm really not sure how I can keep it from John that not only are we saving a few hundred $ (though, if DCL doesn't change their minds about our OBC we're really breaking even...), but we are in a wayyyy better room! He's going to freak when we walk into it!!! I was seriously worried about nights before...if our son wakes up and sees us, it's all over... The new room has the little extra area with the couch before the verandah and it has a curtain!! YEY!!!! His pack and play will fit nicely right in there each night!

I'm also going to order the cigar pack and champagne as a surprise. He only has a cigar once in a while so I seriously doubt he'll use them all there...if he has one the whole week I'll be surprised...especially since he'd have to go to the smoking area. But it'll be something fun for him to bring home and remember the vacation for Months to come, lol.

Andddddd I have 3 of one FE stateroom gift done and 6 of another stateroom gift done. Plus I have a ton of another gift and tooooo many other ideas. LOL

BUT FIRST...Halloween. I've decided that this year I'm going to be, John Pocahontas, John will be John Smith, and Sebastian will be Meeko! I ordered a pattern that actually has the 2 adult costumes...but am having a problem finding any sort of raccoon to make. I don't mind DIY if it's easy enough but I've only found a couple things with "written" instructions and...yeah...don't know about that. I've only been sewing for about a year!! Last year I made a Wendy dress for myself and Peter Pan for Seb. We already had a Capt Hook costume for John, lol. I'd love to have the three new ones done by the end of Sept as we're going home to Tampa for 2 weeks and will be in Orlando for 5 days..and are going to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party!! Woot!! But we'll see...I need to have a good start on them, at least, as I'll only have 2 weeks until Halloween once we get home. And after Halloween I need 4 more costumes done!!!! UGH!!!!

So glad to hear that this is safe. I could win an award for most protective mom lol
And I've always heard horror stories about Mexico so I wasn't sure what to think?
Thank you for letting me know :)

Lol!! Well I wouldn't go walking down any back alleys...and I'd stay in the touristy/main areas...but I'd say that about Anywhere that you've not been before or aren't very familiar with! :thumbsup2 Have fun!!!

FE link is on my sig! I'm so glad you got the deal!

I will send out a reminders about FE, 1 week prior to deadline(nov 8th) for room changes, adds and confirmations!

Hey everyone!! We just changed our Dec 7th Bahamas cruise to this one last night so we could jump on the military deal!! Same category for almost 60% less!! I see a lot of spa time in my future ;). I am interested in joining the FE list and I sent in my request to the FB page :). It will be myself and DH along with our two kiddos DD (3yr) and DS (turns 11mo the day we sail). It is our first cruise ever so we have no idea what to expect! We usually head to Europe each year but the idea of relaxing and having a place to drop BOTH kids off for a few hours of quiet time seems almost too good to be true ;). We are rm #6618

Welcome!!!! The military rate was Awesome, yes!!?? We were in a Deluxe Ocean View and I changed to a verandah for 200$ less, lmao! My husband is in the Army and we're in Texas right now. What about you guys??

Europe is my very favorite place to go! My son and I just got back from two weeks in London with my mom & sis (Hubby had to work). My mom was stationed there when I was younger so it always feels like going home. *sigh*

Anyways, I think you'll love the cruise!! We've only gone on 2 others...Disney and then Carnival and my husband says he never cares to do Carnival again and really enjoys Disney! And the last time we didn't even have a kid!! Our son will be 21 months on the cruise...so not too much older than your little one...and I guess actually not too much younger than your eldest! :goodvibes

Soooo excited about the military deal! I was PIF for our Dec cruise when I just happened to see a link to it. DH changed his leave date and we grabbed the same room for an almost 3k savings! I convinced DH to let me plan another trip somewhere this spring with the savings! :) :yay:

DH is Air Force and we are currently here in San Antonio (and praying everyday that we get new orders!!) We used to live/work just a few miles from Disneyland and went 5-6X a month. I miss it! Our last two Disney vacations were WDW with the kiddos before DH deployed so we figured we should give the cruise a shot! The thought of dropping the kids off for a few free hours of adult time seems almost too good to be true!

We were pif too, but for this one! My dh has no clue and I'm hoping to let him walk in the room and be surprised! fingers crossed when we check in they don't mention it!

Ah SA. Dh loves it there but I'm not a fan. We are over here in Houston (medical recruiter) and he likes it but I'm hoping for a change soon! New England is where I grew up and I'd love somewhere up there.

Tampa is home so we go to WDW all the time! We will be there next month!

Hello! We're joining you!! Is there an FE group we can join?? Also, is there a Facebook group?

Hi gang!

My name is Jordan, and I'm excited to be heading on my first Disney Cruise! My girlfriend (Mandy) and I are both currently interning at Disney World on the Disney College Program, and we wanted to get a Disney Cruise in before our program ends on January 3rd. Even though the cruise doesn't depart from Florida, these dates work best for us, so we'll be using frequent flyer miles to fly to IAH. We bit the bullet and just booked our transfers through DCL.

Mandy has never been on a cruise of any type, and I've cruised a few times, but never on Disney and I've never been the one to plan the trip. So her and I are both new to this, and looking forward to getting tips/tricks from the DCL alumni here :) We're both in our mid 20's, but kids at heart!

We're booked in a stateroom category 11A, with a GTY stateroom. The way I look at it: there's so much to do on a cruise, I don't think we'll be spending a lot of time in the stateroom.

My birthday is November 27th, and Mandy's is Dec 12, so we'll be using this cruise as a late/early birthday celebration for us.

Since we've never cruised on DCL before, our check-in window is on 9/16. I work at the Magic Kingdom until 1AM that day, but I'll be doing check-in right when I get home! I hope there is a Palo reservation still available for us! And hopefully we'll find some fun excursions to do.

I tend to go through times where I'm on The DIS a lot, and times when I'm not. But now that I'm planning a cruise, I'm sure I'll be on here a lot more! So feel free to say hi!

Welcome Jordan and Mandy!! It sounds like you both are disneyfied!! That's awesome!! There will still be Palos available, I'm pretty sure of that! It's going to be a fun cruise!!

This is our second DCL cruise and the first time we didn't do Palo, but I'm sure there will still be spots! We are doing it this time...though hubby doesn't know that yet, lol!

As for excursions, I had no issue finding/getting what we wanted last time so you'll be fine!! :-)

Hey all we just booked and amazing interline rate for this sailing. I'm over the moon with anticipation. This will be our between 2nd (our 1 year old) and 5th (my mom) sailing on DCL. Can't wait. We've been to all the ports so we plan to make this pretty much about the boat this time. I will get off at the terminal in Cozumel because there is this bar that make dangerous margaritas for $5 and in Falmouth because the terminal was like a big party. But other than that we are just going to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Can't wait to see you all.

It'll be me, mom, 4 year daughter and 1 year old son.

I'm wondering too what night to do Palo. I'm debating between day 3...but worried it might be a show night (as it was on the magic this exact cruise last year) and those are must do's for us. Second choice is pirate night-kids love that so was thinking about doing MDR with kids and skipping eating then do an 8pm reservation which should still give us enough time to grab kids and hit the deck for the fireworks (right?)

PS-we just grabbed that military rate too and cancelled or other one. So excited! With the savings we can do the dolphin encounter in Jamaica!
