Anyone else going?

Our cruise is "7-Night Western Caribbean Itinerary A". As far as I can tell, there are only 5 cruises total that have this itinerary (all on the Wonder), so I think it would be great to get together any thoughts for excursions, etc. We'll also be one of the first Disney cruises stopping in Falmouth, Jamaica (and we're there for 10 hours!).

Our first cruise on DCL was two years ago on the Wonder this same week (back when Walt turned 110) in the Mexican Riviera. We enjoyed it so much we're doing it again! Here's a birthday reminder to celebrate the occasion (modified from the one I made two years ago).

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :beach:

Have a great cruise!

...and still wondering if we're the only ones on the ship!

Hi there!

We've been booked since last September and have been waiting for this thread to be started. Thanks so much for starting this! :thumbsup2

We have two cabins reserved, but four total in our party.

Can't wait!

:rainbow:

Cshaw, welcome to the cruise!:woohoo: Two cabins sounds nice. My wife, daughter (8), son (6) and myself will all be sharing a 5C cabin. This is the same we did in 2011, and we had a great time then.

Hello all! I'm Sandi... Tomorrow we will be moving our reservation to the nov 30th cruise!

We will have 2 cabins as well....
Cabin 1 will be
Janet (grandma)
Sandi
Evan (11)

Cabin 2 will be
Nate
Sherrie
Brittani (17)
Brody (1)

This is mom, Evan and mine 3rd Disney cruise, Brittani's 2nd and the rest their 1st cruise! We cruised out of Galveston in late April, and can't wait for Jamaica!!!!

Also, if FE group is started, we will want to participate! We have had lots of fun with them the last 2 times, and think that Brody will love it! He will turn 1 in Sept.

Sandi,

Welcome!

DCL should be posting their excursion list for Jamaica any day now. There's only 123 days until the first cruise there, and they promised to do it by 120 days for the Platinum Castaway Club folks.

That's great to know! Thanks! We are really excited! Just got room #s today!!! We are in 7628, and my sister is 7592!

Our last cruise we fell in love with the navigator verandah! We had a down pour in Key West and hole aloud us to be out in the rain, and not get to wet!

Is anyone else staying in Galveston the night before? Flying in? How are you getting to the port from the air port?

Thanks, Hokeysmoke and WELCOME, Sandi!

I'm so excite that we have a thread going.

We would be interested in the FE as well if we're able to get one started. We have participated in a couple of these and have enjoyed them!

I can't wait until they post the excursions for Jamaica. I've been checking everyday figuring that it should be any day now.

We're flying in from CT the night before and are staying at the Inn at the Waterpark. I have mixed feelings about this...I know there are better places, but right now the rates are pretty high at those places. We're figuring it's just one night and then we'll be on the beautiful Wonder! :cool1: Plus, the Inn at the Waterpark has a rate that includes parking and roundtrip shuttle to the cruise terminal.

The hardest part has been getting transportation back and forth from Houston Airport...most of the options I've checked into are soooo expensive!

How is everyone else getting to Galveston?

We cruised out of Galveston in April. We chose disney transportation to and from port and hobby. The shuttle wasn't there, so disney put us in a taxi... It wasn't the prettiest. The cab fare was 102.50 for the 3 of us. I'm thinking with 7 of us, that we will have to find a different way to go. Thinking we will have to rent from enterprise. That is the only company with a rental place in Galveston. Will look at rates of van. For both the day, and week. I think prices a so high because of bird day. Can't believe I will be flying on Black Friday instead of shopping! Think I will be excited either way!!:rotfl2:

I guess I can take charge of the FE... I like it laid back. I don't like schedules or days. I'm not the most computer savvy person... Figure I can put it initial a doc and put a link on my sig.... I will work on that in the next couple days...:yay:

I just made a Google Doc. Anyone with the link can open, and add info. Here is the link!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ao8qxxkKomkNdGNIejc3QXNEa0d1cmZzX242OHV5TUE&usp=sharing

The only rules that I have are that it is for fun! You are to have FUN looking for the gifts, making the gifts, getting the gifts to the boat, passing the gifts out, receiving others gifts, getting the new gifts home, and enjoying the gifts!
If you receive a gift that you don't think you will be able to use to it's full usage, there are probably 1000 others on the ship that would love it, and you would be making someone else cruise! There will be no scheduled day or time for delivery because we are on Vacation meaning Island Time!!

In reality.. There are no rules... This is all to have fun!

If the sheet needs things added please feel free to add! Let me know what you guys would like as a cut off date, if you are making things! I"m easy going!!

Thanks, Sandi for starting the FE! I clicked on the link for this file and although I can open this, I can't type in it for some reason.

Here is our info (if you don't mind adding it): :)

Cabin #1 Room#: 2612
1 Woman
1 Boy (14)

Cabin #2 Room#: 2614
1 Man
1 Woman

To get from Houston Airport to Galveston, we're actually renting a car for the week through our Bank of America credit card rewards program. We're paying $195 for the entire time and we'll have the car from Friday, Nov. 29 to Sat. Dec. 7. It's the cheapest option I've found.

I actually called Entreprise and despite others having luck with this, was told that they do not offer one-way rentals from Houston to Galveston. :confused3

I was just doing my daily check of the DCL web site and discovered that the excursions for Jamaica have been posted!

Cshaw- if at all possible, may I have first name initials to add the list. I understand if you don't want your full names!

I will look into bofa rental! That would be neat.... I will be leaving this page and going straight to disneys to see Jamaica!!! So excited!

Sorry, Sandi! I completely missed this important piece of info!:faint:

Cabin #1 Room#: 2612
Sandy ~ 1 Woman
Daniel ~ 1 Boy (14)

Cabin #2 Room#: 2614
Dave ~1 Man
Cindy ~ 1 Woman

Thanks so much for adding our info!

Cindy

I went MIA for the last week... Evan had some health issues, and school is ending. We are switching from year around to traditional school, so trying to decide what to do with him all summer! Trying to keep this cruise a secret until his birthday (sept) is killing me... He is getting a count down chain for his bday!

The countdown chain sounds neat! I don't know how you can keep this a secret though. I would have the hardest time doing this. Whenever I book a Disney cruise, I want to tell the whole world. :yay:

My son has always had the summer off...we're trying something new this year since he's 13...he'll be staying home. Have mixed feelings about this, but we'll give it a shot at least one time!

Hello everyone!!! :goodvibes

So long as all goes well, we'll be joining you!! I just sent out an email to our travel agent (Dreams Unlimited) asking her to please move our dummy reservation to this one!! EEKKK!!!

Hubby (John) and I (Alexis...Lexi) went on our first cruise in 2008 or 9 with my mom and baby sister. It was Disney and we fell in lovvveeee. We're already Disney freaks so this just pushed it to another level. I think he and I were some of the only people without children on the whole ship and even after going on a Carnival cruise a few years later, he said he only wanted to do Disney again, lol.

Anyways, in Feb 2012, our son Sebastian was born! We were all booked on a 7 night cruise that left on his first birthday and came home on our anniversary...and then Disney changed most of those to 3 and 4 nighters. *sigh* So we've had a dummy booking since then.

I just found out that they're leaving Galveston and so we knew we needed to hurry and BOOK!!! John's in the Army and so we're only here until next August.

Anyways, I don't know our room number but, so long as it stays small like I see it is so far, we're def in on the FE! It was so much fun on our first! I'm going to have to get a new holder though... :rolleyes1

Very excited!

Welcome, Lexi and John!

Glad to have you on the ship with us! :)
