November 30, 2013 Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy

When I sailed in April, Julia the concierge host helped us with a breakfast meet that we had set up (she got us the Captain's Table)

When it gets closer to the time, I can ask them for help. Maybe Ooh-La-La would be a perfect place? I had read on the link you sent where the ship set it up just like a champagne tasting. That might be possible?

The picture I put on the FB page above is from Ooh-La-La, I too, think it would be the perfect place, I'd love for us to work together! (or anyone else that has some ideas). Please check it out, I'm not sure about the settings or anything...I'm not too FB savvy!!

Looks like a blast!! Do you know how far the Hard Rock Cafe is from the pier in Saint Maartin?

Hi Every one, I'm Kelly, and DH Gregg will be joining you on the cruise....we will be part of the 50 crowd with Deernut! :goodvibes ALMOST empty-nesters, our youngest (19) is hanging onto the nest by one little talon. :rotfl: It's kind of nice being "sort of" empty-nesters, so we have someone around to watch the dog and house while we are out having fun!!:banana:

Anyway, it's going to be fun getting to know each other. We are assigned to cabin 10047, and will be late diners. I can't wait to see the Christmas Decorations, and DH can't wait to wear his tux again (I think, he thinks he looks like 007 in it  though I have to admit, he does look quite debonaire.

MAYBE WHEN THE CRUISE GETS CLOSER WE CAN LINK OUR DINING. WE ARE ON LATE DINING AND HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON. WERE OVER 50:rotfl2:AND MY KNEES ARE SHOT 2 BUT IM HOLDING OFF ON REPLACEMENTS. LET US KNOW ABOUT DINING TOGETHER.

Sounds great, it'd be fun dining with someone we're acquainted with, though I have no idea how you linking dining. We've only been on the Dream, and our table-mates either didn't speak English or were fuddy-duddies! My DH is retired Army, so I got a good Army OS to agree to do my knees, I'm sooooooo tired of hobbling around, I was afraid he'd discourage it because of my age.

I KNOW HOW TO LINK, WE HAVE LINKED EVERY MEMBER CRUISE AND SAT WITH SAME TABLE OF 8. WE HAVE A BLAST YEAR AFTER YEAR. WE ALL KNOW EACH OTHER SO YOU DOUNT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT SMALL TALK. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS LINK YOUR RESERVATION WITH OURS, THEN THEY PUT US AT SAME TAbLE. ONE TIME WE HAD 16 PEOPLE LINKED SO THEY HAD 2 TABLES OF 8 TOGETHER. A WARNING THOU I LAFF AND JOKE AROUND A LOT AND DRESSUP AS PIRATE ON PIRATE NIGHT.

YOU COULD JOINS US 2 AND BE LINKED UP IF YOUR ON LATE DINNING. WE COULD SHOW THEM THAT 50 SOMETHINGS CAN have fun TOO!!!

Yes, I am late dining, and I think linking with you would be fun! Dining with you "kids" would be great! ;)

It is easy to link dining, although it might be best to wait until after people's PIF date (paid in full) so the linking doesn't mess up reservations people are trying to do. I think I've heard that if reservations get linked before the booking window it can create havoc. I do know it's usually two weeks before a cruise when they do the actual dining arrangements. Therefore, if we link say 70 days out, everyone who is linking should be all set with their excursions, reservations, etc.?

I am not totally sure on this so if someone knows the actual answer please chime in. I'm all for having tablemates (or a few table's worth) that I sort of know since I am the "dreaded solo woman" :scared1:

That was the only thing so far that had me a bit nervous about going solo, is being sat with a group of couples, and then to get that look of "ut oh, we'd better guard our husbands!" Trust me I am no femme fatale and people's husbands are safe from me. Well, that is unless they happen to be my favorite movie star...then all bets are off! :lmao:

Sounds like a blast! Oh, not too worried about the pirate thing, me and DH will be right with you

You may not want to hang out with someone that wears Christmas Converse though...I think I even embarrassed my DH...until the jingle bells fell off :rotfl::rotfl:

We're already PIF, so no problems there....sounds like we'll have a great group, and the more laughs the better!! My DH is no Brad Pitt, but you're welcome for him to join you in your cabin at night, he snores like a friggin freight train!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Or I will join you, and let it be out "neighbors" problem! If they have FE's on their door, I'm going to put ear plugs in them.

Seriously though, don't be nervous about being solo...you've already made friends here, and you're more than welcome to join me and DH when we go to the theater and stuff. We're not sure what we want to do on any of the excursions though. I know I HAVE to parasail at Castaway Cay...you can go tandem with me if you want, if DH won't....he mentioned being afraid of falling in the water and sharks. I think I have him talked into it though. We'll probably do the catamaran snorkeling too, we want to practice, as we plan on going to Aulani in 2014 and want to snorkel. I'm sure we'll want to do a few "romantic" things alone together, but he tends to love his afternoon naps, so I'll probably have some alone time myself in the afternoons at sea. Maybe some of us can get together and play bingo or something. I think getting a scavenger hunt organized would be a blast.

Hmmmmmm, I just noticed someone's having a birthday on this cruise....what are the dates of your birthdays Holly, Julia, Larry, and Ashley's DD?

Oh man, we are going to have to eat at Cabana's for dinner one night!! They have the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes as an entree there...that was my absolute favorite dish on the Dream, only they didn't have it as a meal, it was an appetizer!! I felt like saying..."Uh, no main entree for dinner, just keep the Pasta Purseittes coming!!" I'd like to eat on the deck in the evening sometime anyway.

That sounds good. I'm going to try and do some different things on this cruise just to mix it up a bit. Had a great time on my other cruises, but think it'll be interesting to try new things.

My birthday is Christmas, so I won't exactly be celebrating it on this cruise - just close. But that means I'll not turn older until a few weeks later.... :rolleyes1

Now hopefully we get some people interested in the Pink Champagne Girls!

Hi everyone!

I'm working on a website for our cruise. Hopefully it can help the FE organizer, as well as anyone putting on meets. It'll take me a bit longer to have it ready for viewing, but as soon as I do - I'll post the URL.

I hope to fix it to have a Cruiser Sign-up so people can input their info. Last names are NOT needed, and you do not have to put your cabin # if you do not wish. Easy to simply put "Deck 7" or something like that.

In past sailings someone usually has done this and its been helpful. This DIS thread will always be the main place to come, with the web site just a place to organize info that's easy to find in a glance. I'll post about the FB site too.

Hi Kelly!! It's Julia here!! Yes! Kelly has been added to the FB page and we are all having fun getting to know each other! :)

I would be interested in doing the Champagne Girl Party!! I'm not really a drinker, so a few sips and I'm gone!! DH will like that! :-D keep me updated on the planning!
I'm thinking it would just be easier to have DCL provide the champagne if it still costs $20 corkage fee anyway, right? Less to have to bring on board!

I have the Master FE list, which also has the celebrations during our sailing. It is as follows, so far:

1. Tessasmom (me)- Julia (DW), Sam (DH), Tessa (DD 3yrs, 9mos old)- Celebrating Julia's 49th bday, December 3- Cabin 7194, early seating
2. Cthia-no info yet
3. Belleandmaddysmom- Ginger(DW), Zach(DH), Isabelle, Madeline-Cabin 8574
4. Minnieandmickey-Becky & Sean- Cabin 8188
5. BlakeNJ- no info yet
6. Auroralovesphilip- Jean (54,DM), Amanda (24,DD) cabin 9060, late seating
7. DVCDeernut- Ian(DH) & Laura(DW),late seating
8. LocustPoint- Tom(DH) & (DW, celebrating 49th birthday 12/2)-cabin 9560, late seating
9. Scrappy_Tink- Kelly(DW) & (DH)

Ok. I just had second thoughts about posting the cabin info...sorry. Let me know if you would like it removed. This is my FIRST time organizing the FE, so please bear with me and offer any ideas on improvement!!

I also just wanted to suggest a Meet Up on embarkation day. We did it on the Dream, although not many people attended, it was great getting to put a face with the name. That way when we saw each other on board we could say hello! I'm thinking people didn't attend because it was a 4 night and didn't want to cut into their short time on board! We did ours in D Lounge I think at 3:00, right before the safety drill, but it may be fun to have a set place during the Sail Away and toast the cruise, or possibly in the Atrium and take a group photo! What does everyone ekes think???

I think this far out from sailing, 6 cabins is pretty darn good!! I will be adding info as I get it. I'm about 99.9% sure DVCdeernuts will also be in on the FE since he was in on our last sailing on the Dream. I don't have his "official" word yet! Beware!! He gives awesome FE gifts!!!!:)

HI JULIA, I THOUGHT I ALREADY WAS ON THE FE LIST. IF NOT JUST ADD LAURA AND ME.:thumbsup2 I WILL HAVE TO LOOK UP OUR CABIN I KNOW ITS AFT AND THE FLAG POLE IS ON OUR VERANDA :rotfl2:
