They released the school calendar for next school year I am so excited the girls will be out for 2 of the 5 days. So they are only missing 3 days which are the first 3 days of the new grading cycle so they won't miss anything at all.

Thats great. Our schedule wont' be out until March/April. We most likely will be off on Friday with Mass(they to a catholic school) and Veterans Day program on either Thursday or the following Monday. That takes up half the day. So either way it works out. Although this year my 3rd grade whizzed through a weeks worth of work in one day and aced tests we briefly studied for despite not being there for any of the chapter and me telling her to wait a few days to take the tests My other daughter will be in 7th though, so a bit more work. She may do the online school next year though.

Just read a report on our German Disneyboard that there was some vandalismn on the Fantasy.Some "Idiot or Idiots" opened water pumps(don´t now the exact word-outjets or something)in various locations and at different times.Damage worth about 1 Million Euros.48 Staterooms have water damage.
But the Float out date still remains and Police and State attorney Office are investigating.
I´m shocked why people feel the need to destroy something they built themselves,because there is a high probability that it was someone who works on the Werft.I really hope they catch them.

I read the same story. I don't get it, I just don't get it.....this helps situations how? If I were a cruise company, I would have to think long and hard about using Meyer Werft to build my new ship...I would be concerned about the damage, etc that might be done to my new ship. People need to grow up. <rant over>

I so need this cruise...at least it's less than a year away!!!

I was wondering if anyone has been looking at the Port Adventures? I have been looking and ST. Thomas/ St. John and CastawayCay have listings, but nothing yet for Puerto Rico.
Has anyone done any of the snorkeling tours with a Tween before?
Would like to have a some good ideas before final payment is paid, so we can sign up for the tours right after wards.

This is the first year that Disney will be sailing to Puerto Rico and they are in the process of finalzing the plans.

Nutcracker was a sweet ride. One proud mommy here and Matti had the time of her life. She got rave reviews from the Director and Choreographer.

Oh, I'm so glad that the Nutcracker was a good experience. That kind of thing is so good for kids. Mine love drama and the youngest is quite a performer. I hope this is a great love for the rest of her life.

I think that's a great idea. Although I don't have young children anymore, I do understand the need to protect them.

I'm available most nights for chat, but I go to bed quite early (9pm Eastern) because I have to get up at 4, so probably this won't work for most people.

thanks so much--I am generally laissez faire but a friend and fellow disney friend's 13 yo was just lured on the internet and taken for about 30 hours by this person. but she's home and safe now!

Fantasy Float Out Moved to Sunday

The Meyerwerft ship yard announced today that the Fantasy Float Out is now scheduled for Sunday Jan 8th at 11AM (local time). Here is the text from the press release:

New ship leaves shipyard's covered building dock

Papenburg, 5 January 2012 – The new cruise ship for the U.S. cruise company Disney Cruise Line (Orlando), the Disney Fantasy, will leave MEYER WERFT's covered building dock on Sunday, 8 January 2012. Around 11 a.m. the new ship will slowly be floated out of the covered hall, followed by a couple of tests and trials to be performed while the ship is in the harbour.

When the ship is berthed alongside the yard's pier the remaining work on board will be completed, for example the installation of the mast.

The ship is scheduled to be conveyed to the North Sea two weeks later. The passage on the river Ems will be depending on the weather and tidal conditions.

The Disney Fantasy has a length overall of 340 m, is 37.0 m wide and can operate at a speed of 23,5 knots. Delivery of the ship to the owner will take place as planned in Bremerhaven on 9 February 2012.

The undocking procedure will be broadcast live via webcam on the internet:

Ok everyone we are 302 days away from the cruise WOW I can't wait and I have set a goal of losing 100 pounds before the cruise.

I just started P90X (its a killer) and I am on day 4 and I only made it half way through an hour and a half yoga video. Amazingly I can make it through an hour of arms yesterday and today not close.

So I am starting my countdown of weight to go along with my countdown till the cruise.

Is anyone else trying to lose weight before the cruise?

I just rededicated myself to Weight Watchers and have to work out an exercise plan. I'd like to lose 25. That wouldn't make me skinny but I'd be happy there!

Well best of luck to you, I am doing Weight Watchers also.

I am totally planning to do the 5K on Castaway Cay and trying to walk/run on the ship just a little bit.

Final goal is to run the Tinkerbell and Princess 1/2 marathons in 2013.
