November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

WOW Thanks muches for the responses! Yes, Make a Wish is a great organization, and we are so blessed by their generosity. We will be limited by our sons exercise tolerance anyway, so there is no way we could do it all. In fact, we probably won't even get off the ship except briefly in the ports. Does anyone know if the ship docks or tenders to the ports? Also, how strict are the kids areas regarding age groupings. Our "Big Dave" is 13, but in many ways he is much more like an 8-10 year old..and he is very small, only 64 pounds. As for wishing for Brittany...not a chance...Although I was afraid he'd wish for Hannah Montana! How will we find the right folks at the meeting?

I saw some Make a wish kids at WDW one year that had name tags on. If you get a Make a wish button or name tag be sure to wear it. The Disney Cast Members and the Dis folks here will make you stay even more magical!

Also: I fyou want some extra fun put up a "fish extender"; put one up and watch the magic happen! you may not know what it is now but you will be suprised when you read the threads on this.

Love, love, love the fish extender idea! I saw that thread earlier but never read it because I was afraid it was about stuff they put in the food. How silly...oh well, what can you expect from a "newbie"? Now I've just got to get busy and find one for our room, only 2 weeks to go! Is there a place I'd need to register to be involved in the fish extender game?

Glad to hear there is only 1 tender port. Hubby and I hadn't planned on leaving our son to go off ship. We didn't even make ressies for Palo or the spa. This is our sons trip...so we are there for family time..just the 3 of us. But, I know our son would get a kick out of the little extras I'm learning about.

Getting more excited every day!

I am a newbie also at this, but I just purchased my fish extender on ebay item # 320171510615 hope this helps. Also quick question for everyone, How many grab bag gifts do I purchase? Do you give one per family or are you including all the kids? I have to go out today or tomorrow and get those along with finding something lime green.

Scrapping cruisers!!! I've pulled together 11 awesome 2 page layout kits (22 pages in all!) for the cruise, but I need an opinion or two (or three!) I'm trying to think of a nice title for the "formal night" layout. I was trying to avoid the obvious: "formal night" or "all dressed up". Any ideas of what you might like to see?

Graygables,

I've tried sending you a reply to the pm you sent, but it says I have too few post. Dern...David would love to make some new friends! I just gotta figure out how to get you his email addy...

By the way "puttin on the ritz" sounds pretty good!

As far as the grab bag, that's up to you. I figured whoever brings something, gets to take something. If you want to bring just one item, or if you want to bring more than one item, whatever works for you.

Two weeks from now I will be eating chocolate dipped Key Lime pie on a stick.

Oh you better believe I'm getting one of those. They sound like the "Dole Whip" of the Disney Cruise!! A must have!

:rotfl:

Thank you so much love2travel for locating them for me. Yummmmyyy!!

omg! you people are evil! chocolate dipped key lime pie!? ur telling a pregnant woman this?:scared: lol jk. i already told my husband that we need to get key lime pie , so i dont think extending it to choc covered is not a big deal.

ok so my week will go like this...packing and organizing, last minute shopping, halloween shopping, making door magnets, and getting the house ready for my brother in law when he house sits. next week is for double checking to make sure we have everything, cut/color hair (me n dh, cut for dd), and dd and i are getting our pedicures, and then i need ot give myself and dd manicures. sorry just thought i would get my thoughts out on here.

I think since your pregnant, you get to have 2 chocolate covered key lime pies on a stick. One for you and one for baby!:lmao:

Just curious, has anyone received an upgrade? I'm still waiting!!!

You might want to check with your salon. When I booked my pedicure they scheduled me a manicure for only $4 more. Hair is this Thursday. Manicure and pedicure next Wednesday.

Okay. Clueless here.

What price range are we talking about here? I saw some cute Tinkerbelle stuff for $1 and a Disney stuffed toy for $5. Or are we talking about the $10 grab bag gifts like we have at work?

Sorry to be specific, but I don't want to get something really nice and then stress about the "cheapie" item I gave to the group. (Yeah, I stress about that sort of thing. It messes with my vacation psyche.) Sad, huh?

The stuff I got was between the $1 and $5 range, just something small.
Please don't stress over it, we have enough of that with getting ready for the trip. I am so not ready!
