November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

I didn't get a packet. Where's my packet? I want a packet. WWaaaaaaa! :(

A: I got my packet!
and
B: I am from central NJ mon county...looking for anyone from around here to talk to! speak up people!

I guess you don't want to talk to me since I

A: don't have a packet

and

B: I'm from the great state of Texas (just living in Indiana temporarily while my husband comes to his senses).

Hey, and I'm originally from Oklahoma now in Ohio, so we're neighbors all around! ;)

Tomorrow is the big "Reveal" for my DDs. I got them a Polly Pocket cruise ship and I have a postcard from Mickey/DCL, the one that says he's happy we're cruising. I'm going to put the dates of the cruise on it somewhere and hide it. We're going to have a Caribbean dinner with Grand Cayman Basil-Pistachio crusted fish (chicken for DDs), Caribbean Jerk veggies, chips/salsa, and Key Lime pie. I'm giving them a scavenger hunt first, here are the clues:

Arg, mateys, to the dungeon with you (the basement)
Look where ye have "pets" for clue #2 (littlest pet shop)

Pirates have rags and pirates have riches
Now go ye and look where yer Ma stitches (my sewing table)

Where, might ye ask, can the treasure be found?
Look inside the chest where there be doors all around! (this is a cabinet in the middle of our school/studio, I'm including a map to make this one easier to figure out)

I'm hoping they'll actually EAT after finding it out, they both tend to get uber-hyper, so I know there will be no sleep at all, either.

They'll be ready to start making some e-mail friends next week, so if anyone is interested, please let me know and we'll connect! They are 11 and 8, entering 6th and 4th grades, but don't mind friends that are older or younger, since we homeschool, they are used to different age ranges.

noooo i guess that was misunderstood! OF course i wanna talk to anyone goin on the cruise! I was just wondering if neone in my area wanted to meet

Since I only live 5 minutes from the Ohio line and Ohio isn't that big, I'm sure I can be there in plenty of time for dinner tomorrow. What time did you say you were serving the cocktails?

We had originally thought we would do the full sub, but it got low reviews while the semi subs got high marks. The full sub is more cramped and the windows are smaller (according to all the info I've been able to obtain). My extra long husband doesn't like sitting with his knees tucked under his chin, so we've decided on the semi-sub.

Where did you find the info on the full vs semi sub? I would be interested to read more about it, because I'm still in a quandry over which one to do, but from what you've said it sounds like the full sub might not be as good.

I am from Howell, NJ. We are flying out of newark on oct 31st and we are staying at bwv.
I also got tickets so we can take the kids to the not so scary halloween party on halloween. we are doing a 4 day wonder in less than 2 weeks :woohoo: & while at the parks my 7 year old wants to get a storm trooper costume from mgm for halloween. The only thing is the kids want me to dress up too, so not sure what I will dress up as for halloween.
I am so excited to also be ther suring the food and wine festival at epcot. always wanted to do that. :drinking1

im not that far from you! i live in middletown! How old are your kids? my daughter is 8 and my sister and BIL live in belford and my niece and nephew are 6 and 7. Maybe we can hit the mall together at the end of the season and shop forthe cruise.

The reveal is done! DDs were very quick on the clues and their reaction was not what I'd hoped. :confused3 11yo has Asperger's so she tends to not get excited about things and really keeps it in, BUT they enjoyed dinner and asked lots of questions (and are happily setting up their Polly Pocket cruise ship at the moment...)

VENT warning!!!

I will say, there is a reason H (no D tonight) is NOT going on the cruise and it has NOTHING to do with the fact that he just "isn't interested" I asked him to move a dining chair and he flipped out about always having to move other people's stuff (this, after I have been trying VERY hard to teach DDs that sometimes we help put other people's things away or clear other people's dishes out of a sense of cooperation and FAMILY). I didn't say anything (should have, but he'd have thrown an even bigger tantrum), but he knew I was ticked, so sat through dinner all grumpy, which upset DDs. He's angry that we're going on the cruise, but tough luck to him. Just b/c he has no interest in travel does NOT mean that I'm going to sit at home and stare at his grumpy gills. DDs and I are going to enjoy our lives, thank you.

Did anybody hit the Bath and Body Works Super Sale over the weekend for some tropical scented potions and lotions? I ended up with Gardenia, Coco Cabana and some Pineapple Shimmer Lotion (plus a lot more, but I won't bore you with the details).

graygables -

You will probably have a better time on your vacation without him than with him.

Best wishes for your vacation!

I actually bought some at last year's sale, the Coco Cabana that is, and still have a ton of it. I buy the stuff, but forget to use it often enough to use it up quickly. So, I'll just be setting it aside for a few more months now! I hope it doesn't get all icky before then, but it seems like that stuff lasts a good long time!
