November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

The final payment is due Aug 20. If you are a repeat cruiser, then you can book excursions 90 days out, which is Aug 5 (but you'd have to make final payment before then), and for first time cruisers it is 75 days out.

I guess we better decide on excursions soon, it will be Aug. 5th before we know it.

Kate, YOUR final payment and MY final payment are due July 20. For some reason we have to have ours in sooner since we booked through the "Lou and Tink" cruise. I think that is a total rip off, but maybe there will be some perks for us on board. :thumbsup2

Has everybody decided on excursions yet? I was going to do the submarine in Grand Cayman, but now I'm thinking about the Pirate Encounter. In Cozumel I think I'm doing the beach break, and in Key West the Pirate Museum/scavenger hunt.

So far the only thing we know for a FACT we are doing is the dune buggies. I think I might just walk around a bit in key west :hippie: ...and in cozumel or on grand caymen i plan to have a shopping day :cool1:

if the funds are available i really REALLY wanna swim with the sting rays...:scared:

This weekend is DH n mine FIRST anniversary and we r having a bbq :woohoo:
only problem is it eats up some $$$ so after this weekend we will start to save

Just another friendly reminder about the Yahoo DCL Kids group...PM me for an invite!

I think we're going to the butterfly farm at Key West, one of the sub things at Grand Cayman, and Chankanaab on our own in Cozumel. I'm a little worried about this one, it's been ages since I've done any truly foreign travel, so I'm going to brush up a bit on some Spanish and hope for the best!

We swam with the rays on Castaway Cay the last time and it was an excellent excursion, however, I have developed an unnatural fear of the critters over the last year or so. It didn't help the The Aquarium in Nashville had a feeding tank and their 'method' allowed me to get my knuckles boo-booed. :(

I'm thinking we'll just rent a paddle boat and relax that day.

Ahhh, well that applies to me too then. I also booked through the Lou & Tink Cruise Travel Agents. I thought she said July... Thanks iwannabeminnie!

What port is the dune buggies in???

(or to Cleveland when it's Browns-Pittsburgh :scared1: ) ;)

I'll be happy to be an honorary Pittsburgh fan when the Ravens' heads are on the line!

I've actually been to Cleveland many times during my days before children to watch the Steelers Browns games. We used to have loads of fun with the Browns fans.

They were actually very cordial to us, Steeler fans. When the "flats" was the place to go, we even would stay a night extra so we could go to the flats for some dinner and drinks of course wearing our black-n-gold. We actually never had one bit of a problem, just some friendly teasing back and forth. :)

You're cordially invited to be a Steeler fan anytime you want. :thumbsup2

So do you have any connections with the Steelers?? Me and DH would love to get to a game at Heinz Field. We have been there for a pre-season game but not regular season.

Happy Anniversary.

Has anyone done the Pirate Cruise excursion? Is it available through DCL or is something you need to book on your own?

Isn't this in Grand Cayman?

My kids are Pirate obsessed. We're definetly doing the museum in Key West but deciding if we should do just a beach day or the Pirate cruise thing?

Shoot I wish! :cloud9:

We used to have season tickets for years but right after they moved to Heinz Field we got rid of them because they got to be pretty expensive.

We beg and plead for tickets just like everyone else around here who doesn't have season tickets. But actually they started something new this year and sell the remaining of non-season ticket holder tickets on ticketmaster. They just had the sale on June 24th. We were lucky enough to get 2 tickets to opening day on September 16th. When I tried to get tickets for another game in a matter of 10 minutes after they went on sale, the tickets for all the other regular season games were gone.

Keep an eye out, I'm sure they'll do the same thing next year. We'll stay in touch and I can email you when I find out when the sale is.

There's always Ebay but I'm sure you don't want to go that route. But if they stink this year you may be able to get some tickets toward the end of the season cheap. Last season they were pretty much going for face value on ebay, the last couple games.

The Pirate Cruise excursion is available through DCL, and it is in Grand Cayman. I was wondering about it too, because we were thinking of doing this. Has anyone else been on it?

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. We are going to try and maybe get some when they play the Jets, it's not too far from our home.

I wanted to do the Pirate Scavenger Hunt in Key West but I am worried about how DS (1 1/2) will be....DS9 has always been pirate crazy and I thought he'd like it. Anyone heard any reviews about it?

In Grand Caymen and Cozumel we're doing beach days, not sure if to book through Disney or venture off on our own. Anyone have any tips on doing the beach on your own? That scares me a bit:scared1:

It scares me to do stuff on our own also. Key West we are doing on our own but seriously its Florida and the island is only 2x4.

When we cruised DCL 5 1/2 years ago. We took the Blue Lagoon excursion in Nassau. We were taking the last boat back from the beach to the port and it broke down. They had to call another boat to tow us in. We were well past the time we were supposed to set sail when we got back. If that was on our own it would have been bye bye DCL. But since we booked the excursion through DCL, they waited for us.

I know thats an exception rather than a rule but it still makes me nervous venturing on our own.
