November 2nd 2002 anyone???

We are from Ocean County! Our flight leaves that Saturday Morning at 7a.m. I wish i knew about these boards before I made the reservations, I would have arrived on Friday. We are going to be getting up very very early to be at the airport by 5a.m. Hopefully the kids will nap on the plane!

Our group is the NFFC ( the National Fantasy Fan Club ) which is a national non-profit organization based in Calif. and devoted to all things Disney and the people who just can't get enough of it. There are over 7500 members worldwide with local chapters in many states and several countries around the world. Most of the activities takes place at the local chapter level. Our chapter, the Jersey Shore Chapter , is just a group of people who came together to share our enthusiasm for Disney and have over the years become friends and have grown to over 50 members. We
meet every other month at one of our member's homes to share a nice evening and have some fun talking about Disney and just socializing. A bunch of us went on the Wonder about 1 1/2 years ago and had a great time. My family wanted to go on a 7 day cruise and so we booked one right after our last cruise (Nov 2000) 2 years in advance because we wanted the royal suite and this was the only one available at the time. When we went to our next club meeting, we talked about our next cruise and the rest of the group was along with us the next day. We went to a travel agent and they handled all the details for us. We usually don't
travel as a group, we just live vicariously through each others trips.

HowardK: Those grandchildren must think you are the coolest Grandpa around!

Six months from right now we'll all be on Castaway Cay!:D Everyone excited?

This grandpa thinks that those 4 beautiful little people are the coolest kids in the world. What a pleasure being on that amazing ship with your family enjoying a week in heaven compliments of Disney. We CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken many vacations in my life and this Disney cruise will be my second cruise. There is something about a cruise that is different than any other vacation I have ever taken. I am so looking forward to our cruise in November. And every time I come to this discussion board I get more excited!!!!! The food, the shows, the people, the sea.......and all the places you get to go along with all that.....it just doesn't get any better!

Anyone else out there for 11/2/02?

Bumping up because this thread is fun. It's nice to find people who are excited about exactly what we're excited about.:)

Just curious...since there are so many of us ...how are you planning on getting to FL. We are driving down and spending a week at PO-R before we sail.

We're not from NJ, but will probably drive to the port. Still might fly, but most likely take the car. We're at the Radisson the night before, but after reading about having to sign up for shuttles and not getting a shuttle until later in the afternoon, we'll probably just pay and park at the port. That will get us back on the road earlier the day we have have to drive home also.

Any other 11/02/2002 cruisers out there?

We have less that 150 days to go....Horray! Anyone else joining us ?

We are so psyched for this cruise. This will be our third Disney Cruise in 1 year! We went on the Halloween Cruise on the Wonder in 2001 with another couple and their 4yr old dd..and we were floored when we all agreed that this was the BEST vacation ever. It was a terrific mix of friends, family and Disney fun! So we re-booked while still on the ship. But we already had a Jan vacation to WDW scheduled..so .....I took it upon myself to check availability and..woohoo! Cruise #2 was snuck in there! It was so much fun seeing everyone on the ship again..they all remembered us too! The Wonder crew is awesome! So here we are...just a few short months to go! I already have my 3 yr old's wardrobe ready!...lol We are going to have a BLAST!!!!!! And it will be fun to see some old friends..I know Deanna from Mickey's Mates..she told me she was moving over to the Magic. I'ver also heard conflicting stories about Sasha's whereabouts...lol..of you haven't met him..get ready..he is a riot! A genuinely nice person.

I think this time..we are not taking planned excursions..I have found them to be a letdown in the past...we will go it alone and live a little dangerously <g>. If there are any first time cruisers..DO NOT MISS the shopping presentation!! It's usually on the 1st day of the cruise, but on the 7 day it might be later on..check your navigators! You will leave will a bagful of FREE or nearly free goodies to take home with you.

That's it for now...looks like we will have a great gang going!

See ya all REAL SOON!

We are also deciding wether to do excursions, or go for it by ourselves. My dh wants to snorkel, and St. John's looks really good.Oh well, we will keep thinking and thinking and thinking.Any suggestions?

Just a word of caution about snorkeling and St. John's. We dragged our snorkle equipment there - it does take awhile - only to get there and find out that the ocean was too rough and they had closed the underwater course. DCL rearranged their excursion trip but for those of us who planned our own trip were not told till we were standing at Trunk Bay. The beach was beautiful but it was too rough for me to swim, though my eleven year old and husband had fun. I think if we had gone to the other side of the island, snorkeling may have been possible. I think a few other groups moved on but by that time we were tired of traveling. So be flexible and ready to change your plans at the very last minute.

Hi Karel,
I also do not know if I want to travel to St. John and only spend a few hrs there, cause I want to leave some time for shopping! But thanks for the information, we are probably leaning toward's Coki Beach or sapphire beach. What did you do in St. Marteen?

We did a land/sea package last November, and in January booked another for this November. Then I really got the bug and we cruised on the Magic over Spring Break. We enjoyed the 7-day so much more than the land/sea that we changed our November reservation to the 7-day Magic on November 2. And coincidentally, are taking a trip to California this summer, so we'll be able to feed our park appetite at Disneyland and Great Adventure, and won't mind skipping WDW in November.

We're from Northern Virginia, and our schools always have a holiday the first Monday and Tuesday of November, which gives us a nice long vacation missing only three days of school at an off-peak time. We're all excited about our third cruise, but we're locked into this week, and are repeating the same Eastern itinerary that we did in March. It would have been nice to be booked onto the Western.

We spent a wonderful week at Sapphire Bay on St. Thomas a couple of years ago in November. The water was warm, snorkeling (our first experience) was great, and the beach was almost deserted. Over Spring Break, though, we took the a taxi there early, only to find that within an hour excursions from at least 3 ships arrived. It was very crowded, and after lunch we left for Coral World, which is DD's favorite place on St. Thomas. Maybe this time we'll make it to St. John!

We will be on the Magic making magical memories right along with you and all these folks from New Jersey! Joining DH and me will be DS (12) and Grandma (my mom). We can't stay off the DIS boards because we are so excited!

This will be cruise #2 for us. First one was 2 years ago during Thanksgiving, land and sea package, 4 days on the Wonder. We were hooked. Have been waiting for an opportunity to go back since the day we left.

See you all there!
;)

Hi Eisia Babe:

Glad to find even more families on our trip! It's only 4 months now. Time has actually gone pretty quickly since we booked well over a year ago.

Welcome to our gang Eisia Babe..as my3kids said..not long now. This week I promise to REALLY start my diet :). We have friends who left today on the Norwegian. Even though I am a tad jealous that they are on the high seas...I am much happier I am on DCL.

We booked our 3rd cruise on the Disney Wonder ( 11/2/2002 ) ,
almost 2 years ago. When we started the count down it was over 700 days. We are now at 100 days and counting. WE CAN"T WAIT but the anticipation is half the fun. I am sure that the cruise will be well worth the wait.

Howard, was yesterday really 100 days??? I hadn't figured that out. Cool:D
