Thanks so much for putting together the FE list! And it works out so well that we have 25 families, otherwise I was going to have to go buy one more thing. Good thing I checked today!

No, we'll be at the Radisson At The Port. Anyone else staying there?

Beth

We are at the Radisson as well....all 4 of us. Called this week and got the 11:30 shuttle. More time in the pool for us. The front desk said the 11:00 and 12:00 shuttles were full.

Hello everyone,
I haven't been on the boards for the past 5 months or more. I'm so sorry for dropping out of site but things have been, well, to say a nightmare wouldn't due it justice. After taking care of my Mom in hospice at my parents home, my father has become mentally ill. It's gotten so out of hand that my husband and I have had to get an order of protection on ourselves from him because of threats, accusations and harassment. We're in the process of trying to resolve things through the legal system with the best case scenario being institutionalizing him. Between that, my husband's rheumatoid arthritis, working on a book that I'm under contract for with deadlines fast approaching, working 40 hours a week and most recently, our beloved dog dying, I've been struggling to keep my head above water.

Can I tell you how happy I am to be going on vacation?:yay:

I'm so glad to see that we're still on the FE list. I had originally wanted to put together an ornament exchange but honestly, I think it might be too late for that. I do have a photo scavenger hunt list from a previous holiday cruise that I created. I'd still be happy to bring sheets along for that for any interested parties. I saw Kristyk13 was interested since I've been gone and I have info on 2 others from before but it probably would be best if you PM'd me if you're interested. That way I'll know how many sheets to bring. A photo scavenger hunt is a bit different that a regular one. You'll get a list with items to photograph. On our last day at sea, people participating will meet up and compare shots and socialize. There isn't a single winner. The idea is to get you around the ship to take different pictures than you normally would to enhance the memories that you take home with you. It's a lot of fun and absolutely no stress. Participation is optional and you work at your own pace.

If you're interested, PM me. Since we're meeting at 3PM in the Promenade Lounge, I can hand out sheets then. If you can't make it, I'll drop it off at your stateroom.

Again, I'm sorry about the ornament exchange and for being gone for so long.

Thanks!

YIKES. You totally need a vacation. When I booked this cruise, I had been going through an awful time with my Dad, who passed away in May. I booked the cruise shortly after then. He had Alzheimers, and the last 6 months of his life (and ours as caregivers) were heartbreaking and awful. That doesn't even compare to yours! If I happen to run into you on board, I'm going to buy you a DOD (either alcoholic or non) You deserve it.

Hello All! My dad just booked the cruise for my boyfriend and me this afternoon, with DVC points! It's an a early graduation from nursing school present! I know it's last minute, plus I have never been on a cruise before. If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated! I am so excited!! Thanks so much,
Emily:woohoo:

Congratulations on almost graduating from Nursing School. Good for you. What a fun gift from your dad. We are going to be at WDW for Thanksgiving as well. Youl will have such a blast on your first cruise. You will become a cruise addict!

I can't believe we set sail two weeks from tomorrow. HOORAY:dance3:

We got our room assignment. We're 7054, I guess that's good guarantee? I don't understand the differences between a 6A and a 5A but whatever.

We leave in 14 days, woohoo!!!!

We're probably going to take a taxi to the port. We're Platinum, so arrival time isn't a problem, and we're not in a hurry to be the first onboard. We'll have a nice breakfast at the hotel and then head for the ship!

I can't wait for this trip. I'm going to be away all of next week, so I'm busy doing all the things I would normally do before vacation and before the holidays. I'm going to do all of my decorating this weekend and next, and then I'm ready!

I'll see you all on board!

Beth

I have updated the FE list with your information!

Thank you!

I am so excited that in just 5 days, we will be stepping foot in WDW and in just 13 days, we will be boarding the Magic. I can't wait. Thanksgiving at WDW will be so wonderful, but I am equally excited for the cruise. :cool1:

Packed all of our stuff yesterday and sent it to Florida in the car with my parents today. We fly to Florida on Saturday for Thanksgiving! Can't wait till the cruise!!!

We leave Friday and will be there for Thanksgiving as well. I am so excited. This week can't go fast enough. I'm already obsessing about what to bring. I'm stumped on what type of weather to pack for on the cruise. I know that Florida weather is very similar to AZ weather right now (with the exception of the expected rain showers next Tuesday), but I don't want to bring too warm of clothing for the cruise. I'm a huge overpacker, so I'm sure I will have enough to clothe a whole football team. In fact, DH was laughing at me today while I was trying on clothes for the trip. His packing will be done Friday morning, shortly before we leave for the airport. Men are so different than women!

Remember there are laundry rooms on the ship if you really need to wash something. I'm taking mostly shorts/bathing suits and casual dresses. I have no pants and 2 pair of capris. I've got a dressy black sweater thing for dinner in case it is chilly and a zippered hoodie for other times on deck or in port. Worst case - I have to go to the gift shop and buy a $100 DCL sweatshirt!
