November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Just wanted to check in and say hi! I think we have Palo's dinner on Monday night...whichever the WWTBAM show is. And we have our brunch on Thursday. I wanted sea days and not missing any shows, or any theme dinner, we will see how the rotation we get pans out...

I am getting ready to head down to Disneyland in a few days. I cannot say how excited I am to be going back, and for the 50th. :teeth:

Wow! High tea in London at the Ritz .. .now that would be a true English tea :) My MIL is from England, but she doesn't practice the custom. Pretty funny that her very Irish American DIL loves it . . .LOL.

I thought the Captain's Gala was on Sunday night. It's the formal night according to the Navigators at **********************. Anyone know more?

Have fun in DisneyLand, Michelle. We're now talking about a California West Coast trip next fall. DisneyLand is one of the places we want to visit.

Have a great day!

CJ, I am very jealous of your high tea in London at the Ritz. I bet that late dining will work out better coming from the west coast. That will sure make fifteen people on the wait list for early dining happy :teeth:

Dialady, Sunday is formal night. Thursday is captains gala (or as my family likes to call it Lobsterfest). We have always been able to get the lobster in Palo if we want it and it goes well with chocolate souffle. However, my favorite dessert in the dining rooms is chocolate lava cake and it is served on Thursday. We dont do Palo for dinner Sat., Sun., or Mon., because not knowing the rotation we are on, my kids dont like to miss their first night in Animators Palate, their favorite.

Michelle, going to Disneyland for the 50th, that is awesome :earseek:

Where is everyone staying precruise? We are having to revise our plans to accomodate my parents and our airport schedules so I am back to square one on the before part.

Hi, I am starting to lose track of people's screen names or real names. So the London tea was quite some time ago, but great. They had dancing in the midddle of the ballroom. I always order Earl Grey.
Going to Calif to disneyland is the best, I grew up in LA. I prefer disneyland to WDW, because everyhting is right there and with kids or elderly parents you don't have to walk too far. Enjoy!
I read somewhere that thurs nite was captain's gala, but the navigaotr was old. Does anyone know where to find a more recent navigator?

Also, i hae been reading there are lots of boys on this cruise. My DS are 12 and 10. They would love to e-mail some new friends. I also have DD 6.5 years old by the time we board.
I am having a hard time picking up snorkel gear, almost all the stores are out. Forget about a new bathing suitas well.
hope to get the names straight, caroline :teacher:

Oh, Jeanne, i forgot. I just bboked my brother and his family and my parents at the Embassy suites. I like their breakfasts, easy and fast. I will be arriving from detroit that morning with NWST, hopefully they are still running. :wizard:

I have two boys, 8 3/4 and 11 yo. They would love email buddies. You can send it to me at twagar@bww.com. Have them put DIS in the title so I know to give it to the boys.

We're staying at the Comfort Suites by Universal and SeaWorld. We're flying in early on Friday and planning to visit SeaWorld for the rest of the day. We have season passes to Busch so it is free (we like free on vacation!). When we return, we're planning to stay for an extra night at Polynesian - Riverside. Dh and the boys want to go to Downtown Disney. The boys have been talking about the LEGO store there since our last visit two summers ago . ..LOL.

Now you all have me thinking about changing our PALO reservations . . .ummmm. Any votes for the best night to do PALOs???

Have a terrific Labor"less" day!

cjmx-

I sent you a pm with my son's email address. He is 10 and would love to email someone his age on the cruise.

Dear TJGORMAN,

My boys tried to email you , but mail ws returned? Could it be blocked.
My boys email is bg12@sbcglobal.net. It has been a great weeked here so we have been out at the pool.
Does anyone know where to get a current copy of the eastern navigator?
or one for the kids, they like to plan ahead?
thanx, CJ :earsgirl:

Since the Magic has been on the left coast for the summer, recent navigators is a relative term. You can find some at *****************. The Magic is going into drydock before we go on it. It comes out the end of October. We'll be able to see the ship b/c it will be in drydock in Norfolk shipyard. We saw the Wonder when it was here.

We're headed to Seattle to visit family this week. Can't wait for a real vacation!

Have a super day!

It's been quiet around here.

I know we are really busy now that school is back in session and kids are all back to their activities.

We just got main dining today (waitlisted since we booked in January). I wonder if they have had recent cancellations due to final payment being due?

All of our excursions are planned, reservations booked, things falling into place. Now I am starting to think about when I would like to rebook for our next cruise.

Dh surprised me with a trip for just ME (no dh, no kids) to Costa Rica (meeting my best friend there). I am leaving tomorrow and will be gone ten days. I am taking my laptop :goodvibes since my kiddos want to email with me while I am gone. I am wondering if I will be able to stay off the DIS boards for ten days?

Hope everyone is enjoying beautiful weather (sunny and 70s here). Wishing you all a great week.

Jeanne

I just found about this site today. My DW and I booked using DVC points. We have been on the 4-Night cruise and the 7-Day Eastern.

We are very excited to be going.

disneybride96 - I am also doing the Regatta in St. Marteen.

Is anyone doing the Scuba Dive at St. Marteen? My DW is doing that.

Also, do they still do they Cup for the sodas? You buy the cup and get free refills on soda.

Welcome! I found a link for the Regatta....it looks awesome.

This is our third DCL cruise too. We have been on the same as you...a 4 night and 7 night eastern. It has been just me and my dh, but we are taking my mom, dad, sister, BIL and the three nephews this time. I am sure we are in for a change!

Hi again everyone! We just got back Monday night from our trip down to Disneyland. We had a fabulous time, and the 50th anniversary was awesome...a few bumps and mistakes along the way, as usual, but so much luck and magic to make up for it! We are now setting our total attention on the cruise! My kids are really excited. :teeth:

I am thinking of getting some kind of list or index with the user names, real names if available and kids' ages. I know I am forgetting everyone that has kids my kids' ages...I will work on this and post it here on this board.

I just booked two excursions - Doubloon Snorkel on St. T and Betterfly Farm on St. M. Decided to go through Disney even though it costs more. I know lots of people go on their own but I just wanted to have it done and not have to think about it once we got there. Hopefully these are good choices. Anyone else doing either of these? See you real soon! :earsboy:

I have put together a list of the people in EXCEL. I do do not know what the best way to display it is. Formatting on this is not the easiest thing.

If someone would give me a suggestion, I will be glad to post.

jon

That would be great Jon...I wish I knew how to format it onto here, but I am not very computer savvy. Hope you can be able to post it! :teeth:

Almost 2 months everyone....remember when we were saying 10 months (or more)? I think back 2 months ago, and that goes so fast...I better get movin'.

Hi, Jon

I thought i would provide an update. Thank you again for compiling the list. I know it takes time and energy.

CJMX- Caroline and Scott
DS- Evan -12 (soon to be 13 in dec)
DS- Bryan- 10
DD- Kathyrn -6
We are with my extended family
Grandma & Grandpa
Brother's family with 3 kids boys-8, 7, 5
Sister's family and i kid DD- 5
I am not sure where my cabin may end up being.
I have three cabins booked on Deck 2. My brother is in Cat 3.

As for escursions: none planned as of yet. I am in the process of gathering info about St. Maarten. Because my parents are really old, I was actually thinking of getting a hotel on the beach for them. Kind of as a rest stop and it was also have all the pools and changing facilites we needed. But this may sound crazy. My family from California can be pretty spoiled. We can't wait!!My DH and I are going to Cancun in mid Oct for our 15th anniversary. With all my trips planned, time goes by quickly.
Thanks Again, Caroline :hourglass
Thanks again, Caroline
