November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

I will be taking my laptop. I am self employed and have to stay in touch with clients in case of an emergency. They all know that I will be out of town, so hopefully everything will go well, and I won't hear from anyone. I've been working like a dog all month trying to get ahead of schedule, so that I can relax for 7 days. When I get back, I'll work crazy hours for another couple of weeks trying to get caught up.

My DD will get her homework the day before Thanksgiving. Her school expects her to have it completed by the time she gets back to school. Hopefully she will get it done on Wednesday night and Thursday (in between eating turkey). But if she doesn't, she will have 15 hours in the car on Friday to get it done.

I'm with you, Katiesmom! I have to bring my laptop in case of client emergency. Many of them aren't happy they can't just call me . . .LOL. C'est la vie! DH thought I was a bit crazy to think it would be relaxing to have a quiet place to work (like the secret deck 7 aft) without interruptions :) It's way too tough to get away anymore. But it is worth it! Looking forward to meeting you.

Have a super night!

I'm sure I'll see you on Deck 7 aft. I've already mapped out my quickest route!

I would be happy to contribute a bottle of wine (or 2) for the tasting party! I will be bringing my own corkscrew (can't seem to get the sommilier to the stateroom w/his) so we can enjoy some in our cabin. Where should we have it? We only have a porthole cabin, no verandah or I would offer ours.

Lisa

Who else would like to participate in a private wine tasting? I'm assuming this will have to be in a private cabin and not in a public area. Please correct me if I'm wrong... I've never been on a Disney Cruise before. Anyhow, I'm in cabin 7558 and will offer my cabin, we do have a verandah, but space will be very limited. Just to throw out a suggested time and date... How about Sunday at 3:00? Unless of course you have a pressing football game to watch. The Steelers play on Monday night! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: How about each couple bring 2 bottles of wine? I'll supply some plastic cups, and will call room service for the cheese and crackers. Just need to know who is interested? Please post or PM me, so I can get a count. If anyone else with a larger cabin would like to offer to host, that's fine with me. I'll even still offer to bring the plastic cups :goodvibes

PS. If you have a local winery... bring that wine, otherwise just bring a favorite wine. There is a local winery near Pittsburgh, but PLEASE don't expect much... after all, it is Pennsylvania, not the Napa Valley! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi neighbor! :wave2: 7600/02 here! I (well a coworker actually) would be really greatful if you could manage to fit some :worship: Yuengling into your suitcase! :drinking1 I think she prefers Black & Tan but the traditional is fine too.

 But you know, it looks like I may be able to get some in FL.... hmmmm

Sounds good to me. I just need to figure out how I am going to pack all this stuff.

I am going to try to get the list exported into excel.

This way it will have the room #'s and it will be easier to print out. It will not have any of the other information. As soon as I get it done(It should not take me that long), I will let you know and then you can PM me if you would like it.

My family (husband and 2 boys, 6 & 4) are also going on this cruise! We are very excited, but I just checked out the weather for St. Marteen and St. Thomas and they are expecting rain for the next ten days! Does anyone know if this is typical for this time of year????

Also, what is close to check for castaway cay?

So not happy right now :sad1:

jfishkind - welcome - if you have not found it yet, you can check the main cruise post that has all the information about who is going, when the cruise meet thread is and more information. If you have any more questions, please let us know. I will add you to the list shortly.

I would not worry about rain.

Castaway Cay - probably Nassau or Freeport.

The trip will be great.

I forgot to say. That post is #358, a direct link to it can be found at the bottom of my signature.

I have funally finished the printable list of names.

If you would like the list e-mailed to you, please PM me with your e-mail and I will send it to you.

I've made a decision to leave my laptop at home and try not to log onto the Internet while on the cruise. I'd like to avoid headlines or any other info about the real world while on vacation. My Blackberry will stay home and I will have a work free vacation.

You can add my cabin # to the list...it's 6635 (Cat 11)

Only 2 days till my 30th and 8 nights till I get on the plane.

Looking foward to meeting all of you.

That was my question, too. I contacted the folks we're doing sailing excursion (non-dis) with in St. Thomas and asked what we do if it raining. She said they normally predict rain daily this time of year, but usually it's just a brief shower during the day. The rest is sunny and warm.

I agree with Jon. Somewhere in the Bahamas would give you a close reading for Castaway Cay.

EIGHT more days until we leave. I am so ready for a vacation . . . Don't think I can get away with leaving my laptop home, but not having the cell phone ringing all day will be wonderful!!

See ya'll soon!

Hello all!! My name is Les and I just found this site and wanted to add my name to the list. I'm traveling with my two kids Carissa - 14 and Coby - 8. This will be their first cruise and my second on the Magic. The kids are very excited and looking forward to it and it appears this will help the kids in meeting others their age before the ship sets sail. My daughter dislocated her knee playing soccer a couple of weeks ago so this will be interesting as far as what she'll be able to do. Her knee popped back in place and she is in physical therapy right now. Thank goodness she's off crutches but she'll be limping around a bit. I just did the Eastern Car. last November on the Carnival Glory and I like it much better than the Western Car. This is my first time attempting to meet others prior to the cruise departing and think it's a great idea especially for the kids. Looking forward to meeting everyone next week. The kids and I are arriving next Wednesday to hangout at the Disney Parks for a couple of day's. We'll be at the Hilton on the Disney Property. Our cabin number on the ship is 2584 and we have the late dining time. Until next week, travel safe and we'll see you next Saturday.

Here's the latest on Delta: http://www.forbes.com/business/manufacturing/feeds/ap/2005/11/16/ap2342222.html

Looks like the court will take a while to decide so we should be safe. Just get me to Florida, if I'm stuck I'd rather be in warm Florida then cold New England! :cheer2:
I totally agree, just get me there and I will be fine! I am just worried about the trip there, I don't care about the one back! :teeth:
Wow, I just cannot keep up with this thread! It is going so quick.

I am excited to meet everyone too, we leave a week from today, and I need to start packing! LOL
And katiesmom, we are going to be right next to you in 7563 abd 7562! :cool1:

Your birthday is 11/19? I think that makes 3 of us! :grouphug: Boo Mc's birthday is Saturday as well. Since there's no James Bond movie this year (they traditionally come out now) I get to see Harry Potter instead.

Jon,

Thanks for updating us on the list. Could you fix Coby's name please you have it spelled Cody instead of Coby. Thanks, he gets upset with that sometimes.
