I've been doing all kinds of planning and just had a big "oops- almost forgot" hit me in the face this morning. Parking at the departure airport!
We rarely travel on holidays, but are flying out on Thanksgiving day - I am sure the lots will be full since it is the biggest travel weekend of the year. Got my reserved spot today. Just a reminder for everyone!

My big oops, I forgot to upgrade my travel insurance to cover my new costs. Thanks for making me go back over my lists! :goodvibes

Well, I changed my signature. DD couldn't wait to try out her formal. In case you can't tell by the photo, yes, she is a diva.

She doesn't have her "jewels" on in this but she has the princess tiara she and my mom made together.

Just thought I'd share.

K. Lee, can I drop off my ironing?? :rotfl2:

Honey, this mamma refuses to iron, that is why steam was created. I have yet to ruin anything with my handy dandy steamer! Put an iron in my hands and look out, I iron in more wrinkles than I iron out.

Actually the prices for pressing (based on a thread I was reading, will try to find) ranges from $1 - $2.25 per item, depending on the item.

Just in case anyone else was thinking about getting a alarm for their door for their veranda we found a pack of four at linen's and More. they were $9.99. I have not tried them yet but the girl at the register said she has them and they work great.

My ds-6yrs. old is feeling a little left out since his db-10 and ds-7 have both started e-mailing other dks. If anyone has a ds around his age that would like to e-mail he would be very happy.

About the irons!!! I read on a different site that if you use their irons they are so old that you do not want to iron anything that you really like.

Our countdown for leaving is soooo close, we will be leaving for disney world the monday before the cruise. How exciting.

Jon,
I can send my clothes out to be pressed, but it takes 24 hrs. I must admit, I have never had concierge service before, so I really don't know what to expect. I am used to just pulling out my steamer and getting rid of the last minute wrinkles. I will probably just put everything out the first night so it all is OK when we need it. I keep forgetting we will have ample closet space. I keep thinking of the posts I read early on that state the closet is to store luggage. Hopefully we can get extra hangers because my DD is a clothes horse and is bringing many of her "diva" clothes that wrinkle.

As for coffee, I have been warned that even with the Cat 1, it is not good if you are a coffee person. I guess it is an instant coffee. I can deal with that, I think coffee is mostly just habit first thing in the morning. It is just such a bad habit, I bought the travel coffee maker when I saw it. I can go to the coffee shop to get it but I figured out with the cost of the mocha I will spend between $126 to $200 on coffee. Oh well, it is just one less excursion, I will have to spend more time in the room.

We have done category three several times and when sending out the clothes for pressing always had them back in a couple of hours. Even though they said 24 hours, we always made sure to confirm how long when they were picked up and didnt have a problem. I also have used the steamers in the laundry room myself and never had a problem. However, on formal night, the laundry is busy that day with people steaming.

My dh HATES the nescafe yuck coffee on board. What we do is bring his one cup coffee press, and his own favorite blend (takes up no room in the luggage). Hot water (delivered by room service) into the coffee press, two minutes later his own perfect coffee, no electricity involved. He likes his coffee better from the press than the pot anyways.

Disneybride96, thanks for the parking reminder. I totally didnt think about it. Need to go reserve some parking.

Havent been able to find any magnets yet, but still looking.

WE ended up making ours. We found something that we liked to have give away as magnets and just added Magnetic Tape to it.

I agree. No ironing for this mama :) On our 4 day two summers ago, I sent out all of our items that needed ironing for the 4 days. It only cost $15 and everything was ready for the week. I'll do the same thing I did then ... As I unpacked, I took the items that needed pressed and put them out for our steward/ess. They were back the next morning when he made up our room.

Yep, I'm still working on magnets, too. I know what I want. Just have to find them. :)

Did you know the weather in St. Thomas today is mostly sunny with a high of 87 degrees F!!!

Have a super day!

That is a lor better than the 37 degrees F, when I drove to work this morning. It was at 5:00AM, but still, that is cold. Especially for NC around Halloween.

A one or two cup coffee press (nice one that we are happy with) runs about 8-12 bucks.

I bet you can get them in any coffee/tea place. As plain or fancy as you want them to be.

I use mine for tea too.

Can you beleive how close we are getting to actual being "Live" on the cruise. It seemed so long ago that we were planning a trip, then booking, now we actually get to "Cruise". I love that verb!!!

Anyway, does anyone have any idea when to expect travel docs from Disney. I know all the forms changed, and need to begin to fill out these docs. Don't want to have to do that while waiting in line.

I have 2 of the 5 passports. My daughters in the only critical one since I need it for of citizenship.

Anyway....Happy Halloween.... :Pinkbounc

Louie T. - We are ALL Hoping Docs come in at the end of this week or sometime next week. We have seen people get them about 2-3 weeks out. I know I am hoping it is more like 3 weeks. I want to have everything ready and packed. I have a few more things to get and I should be packed. Hope those passports come in.

Yes, we will be sailing this month!! :cheer2:
I have a question to all those that are packing or have already packed! (Wow that really impresses me!)

Clothing wise, how much are you taking?? Being a first time cruiser, I really do not know what to expect. I usually overpack a bit on our trips, and I hear everyone say "pack light, take what you have and empty it by half", but then I see other threads that say all these things you should be dressed in for dinner....If you pack an outfit for formal night, semi formal night, and each of the dinners...doesn't that add up to alot? Do you wear the same thing more than one night? What do you usually wear during the day, both at sea days and excursion days?

Sorry, I am baffled a little on what to pack...especially as a family of 6....how many things can I expect to wear more than once? :goodvibes
Or those with kids who have cruise before, what are you packing for them clothes wise? TIA

Last time, we packed to much. Definately cutting down this time. I will start putting the clothes in the suitcase this weekend. Here is what I am going to do. Formal & Semi-formal dress, pirate night outfit, pair of black pants and a pair of tan pants. I plan on taking two different tops, so I will be wearing each pant twice. A skort and blouse for the Palo brunch. As for the daytime, swimwear, Tee's and shorts. I will pack basically the same for the children.

I also have to go get the magnets for the DIS Meet. I talked to my TA yesterday, and he said Disney mailed our documents to him on Monday. He expects to get them on Friday and we will get them sometime next week. So, hopefully we will start to see the documents soon.

Great News on the documents.

As for the clothes. We normally pack too much clothes. We are bringing clothes for the Dinners that we can wear twice. If we have to do Laundry, tehn we will get up early and do it. As for Daywear, I am normally in a bathing suit or comfortable shorts and a t-shirt. My DW will bring more clothes, but she normally will wear it all. For two people, we can pack carry-on suitcases and normally be fine, but with Formal Wear and Scuba Equipment we will probably have some bigger bags.

When you start getting documents, if you would post it, I will then update the list with documents received and when.
