November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

HI All --

I've been talking with my Ds's about what to bring for an exchange. We're from SE Virginia. Remember VA is for lovers? There is usually a crab on the logo, but you probably don't have a cooler for a live crab. Then the boys thought of oysters Oyster growing is an important part of cleaning up the Chesapeake Bay. But they can be kind of yucky too if you don't eat them quickly. Did you know Planters Peanuts started in SE Virginia? There are peanut farms all around (beside the cotton and tobacco).

Considering there are about 100 families, we'll probably bring small bags of VA peanuts (unless the DS's come up with something more interesting). Or maybe a magnet for your door of a crab? We're still thinking. Biggest thing is remembering there are 100 families with over 100 kids!

I'm redoing my kitchen this week. I typically go to Lowes, but I'll try to stop at HomeDepot to see if they have the Green Disney paint chips.

Have a super day! One more to take off you paper chain! Yeah!

I count 29 User-id's. If every user-id has two-families within the group, then that would be 58 Families. I know that is going overboard since most have only one, but there are some that have more than two.

I like the idea of a magnet. It is small and simple.

Are we going to do one per family? Or maybe bring 5 of something and swap that way. Once again, I have never done this, so just trying to figure it out.

I think a magnet trade would be a great idea! My DD loves pin trading and this would be like an extension of that. If we each brought 5 magnets that would be a perfect amount without going too overboard (no pun intended)

I love the idea of 5 hometown magnets! Let's do it! I haven't gone to Home Depot yet. I will try to go this weekend. I have so much to do, so little time!

Right now there are three People that agree with getting 5 hometown/state magnets. If anyone else has an idea or agrees with it, please let us know.

This is my first post. I have been reading the posts for weeks. I was glad to find other people like me in this world. (as my DH says - obsessed with Disney). I am so excited about the cruise. I have read everything that I can put my hands on.

Question-DH wants to play golf in St. Thomas. Has anyone experienced this? I don't want to take up one suitcase with his clubs, but he doesn't want to rent them. Any suggestions?

I am looking forward to participating in this forum over the next several weeks. I would like to join in the meeting on Cruise day if possible.

Our cruise party consist of DS-12, DS-6, antisocial DH, and me. The family is not quite into to the whole planning thing as I am. But, I can't wait. I love vacation planning. It helps me to get into vacation mode earler. This is our first 7 day cruise, but second Disney Cruise.

Well that is all for now. Thanks for letting me talk with you all. :flower:

EDDJMOM - We are glad you can join us. I will add you to the list. Hopefully you have found all the information on the list. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Golf on St. Thomas was Excellent. The course was in excellent shape and the scenery was awesome. If I was better in Golf, I would probably play again. When I played in 2002, they had Titleist Clubs. They were GREAT Clubs. However, I understand him not wanting to use someone elses clubs. Have him pack some of his clothes with the clubs.

I went to Home Depot last night, they have the green mickey heads. I got a four for our nametags. I am starting to put together the packets I am making for our group. This weekend I will put out the suitcases and start accumulating clothes/sun lotion, etc. I hope this board starts to pick up it is getting close now!

:cool1::banana: ONLY SEVEN MORE WEEKS TIL WE CRUISE!!!!!

jjbescher - I think we can manage 5 magnets. That way, you give 5 magnets, you get 5 cool magnets back :)

EDDJMOM - Welcome to the party. If weren't doing our only excursion on St. Thomas, I'd volunteer my dh to golf with your dh. I know he'd love it, but we're off to sail around the island. Hey, I have a DS - 11 coming. Would you like them to exchange emails?

TJGorman - Yeah! for the green mickey heads. I'm painting my kitchen cabinets and redoing the kitchen in general. I stil haven't made it to Home Depot . . .LOL. Kinda hard to explain the mickey head thing to DH. But hey, it might be interesting to see what he comes home with . . .ummmm:teeth:

Have a super day, all!

I am not technologically advance, but I want to respond directly to DiaLady - Hey, I have a DS - 11 coming. Would you like them to exchange emails?

My DS has an e-mail address. I am not sure how we exchange e-mail
information. My DS had such a great time last year on the 4 day cruise. He was out later than me every night. The younger DS went to bed by 11:00, but my older DS was out everynight until 1:00 a.m. I could not believe it. He connected with 4 boys on the first day and they ran all over the entire cruise. They participated in various group activities, but they spent most of their time and my money in the arcade.

I will get my DH to pick up the paint swatches from Home Depot.

My DH has decided to take his clubs. I will just have to pack more compactly.

Question for the group - Will there be any availability to get Palo reservations on the ship? We missed the opportunity on line, but last year, we could not get reservations on the ship either. What has been everyone's experience?

As I looked back, I guess that I am suspose to give my background information. - We have late dining (8:30) and My first name is Kelly.
We will bring 5 magnets from city (well actually they will be from my work). Our room number is 2620. Not sure what other information you need to include us, but let me know.

Thanking you in advance for your response. I am looking forward to writing more over the next few weeks.

Hopefully I can answer a couple of questions for Kelly. I got my Palo reservations on-line but others in my party didn't, so I called DCL and was told that they will still be scheduling Palo reservations like they used to (in Wavebands starting at 1pm I believe).

Also, we love to use Space Bags when we travel. They're great for compacting clothes and keeping dirty clothes separate from clean ones too. A word of caution though, airlines are now VERY STICKY about the 50lb weight limit on bags, we have had to pull our bags from the scale and "re-arrange" stuff so that we didn't have to pay the fine.

Lisa :bounce: :cheer2:
(Leaving 4 weeks from today to start our trip!)

Umm...Isn't only 5 weeks?

Here's a green mickey head for anyone who wants to use it:

I am up for magnets

Glad you liked the spreedsheet. I tried to let people decide for themselves what to delete.

My Disney suitcases have arrived and I am packing.

HELP!!! I am very close to upgrading to a Cat 3. I have a post on the main thread, but wanted to see if any of you have input. Mainly to help ease check-in, get more room so I can escape the snorer and like the idea of concierge.

Hollar if I can do anything. I will go to HDepot Sunday to get heads, anyone need me to pick-up extras? I can mail them to you.

I am going nuts with excitement

I like this one a lot. I may have to use it in our Door Magnet.

Halestrm - If you can afford it and it is available, I would say go for it. Since it has only been two people in a room for us we have never needed a suite.
