November 25th, 2016 - Black Friday on the Wonder

Welcome to the cruise fellow platinum cruiser!! I've been thinking about becoming a travel agent, but I can't figure out if I'll have a large enough client base. I'll have to get together with you sometime on the cruise and chat about it! Stitch is one of my favorites and my daughter (turning 1 on the cruise) will be traveling with her stitch (just a medium sized one)! Oh and my husband is a huge Donald fan

I have a question about arrival times. We are driving to port that morning from Louisiana.. I chose a port arrival time around 12:30pm.. If we arrive earlier than that will we be able to get in line to board the ship based on when we arrive or based on the time I selected? We would like to arrive earlier if it means a chance of getting on board earlier.

You guys are killing me! I didn't get Mickey mail:sad:

Don't feel bad, I almost forgot the countdown to. Hope you find your stuff cause dealing with any postal/delivery service to get your package is not fun.
My mom and my nephew got their Mickey Mail.. but not us yet.. my kiddos are dying to get their suitcases ready to go!!

I hope that being a TA got you a good rate this close to the cruise. It has sold really well and probably has around 50 rooms left. This will be #2 of 3 in a row on the Wonder. I am more a fan of the Magic/Wonder but I will have to do the Fantasy eventually just to have gone on all the ships.[/QUOTE
Ok now that we officially have a cabin and are booked, I want to introduce myself and our family.

This cruise will be one of many firsts for our family. This will be our first cruise on the Wonder. We have been cruising since 2006 when my daughter was only 11 and my son was 9, we have spent over 121 nights on a Disney Cruise and 80+ with the same server! We have sailed all categories and do not care which one we do as long as we are on the ship. This will be the first cruise with out my son who cannot miss a week of classes. This will be the first cruise my daughter has taken since she is legal drinking age. This is our first cruise with ALL adults. This is the first cruise we have gone on as a family unit without others since 2011. This will be the first cruise we can spend the entire day at Serenity Bay.

I am a travel agent and I am going to use this cruise to show how you can do Disney Cruise on less than a $100 with great take-home memories and items (not including tips). I am excited to do this. I am also an essential oil educator and writer so I will be doing an essential oils and traveling article.

I am so excited to be on my 13th Disney Cruise!

Oh my name is Krisann and I love Daisies, including Daisy Duck! My DD (21) is Ashlyn and she loves Stitch (she will be bringing her giant Stitch with her), my DH is a computer guy and my MIL is a school bus driver.

@KrisannB I am a newbie to DCL and vacations period.. haha.. I would love any tips you have on saving money.. We are avid Dave Ramsey followers and FPU coordinators ourselves.. so this trip is our first big vacation since becoming debt free.. I'll take all the tips you can give.:thanks:

I have a friend who is a Disney Travel Agent.. She has been on the Wonder several times and prefers it because it's less people, so lines are much shorter than on the larger boats.. We shall see for ourselves very soon!!

You can arrive earlier but there is no guarantee you will get onboard earlier. Once boarding starts(usually 11:30-noon), it goes quick.

Don't know about shorter lines but I just like the feel of the smaller ship. Not that the Dream was bad, it was just bigger than what I was used to at that point.

I guess what I meant to ask is if we arrive before our selected time, will we be able to get in line or will we have to stand to the side until our selected time?

You should be able to go through security and check in but you may end up sitting around longer. Really depends on how fast boarding goes. The terminal won't open until 10:30 I think but you will be allowed in no matter what time you show up.

Yea!!! Our documents came in yesterday, so excited!!!! The boys say 37 days is tooooooolooonnngg
To wait. It'll be here before we know it!!!

I have a blend called digest zen that I use, but singles such as peppermint, fennel, ginger are all good!

Wow! Getting some Mickey mail really livened up the thread!! We too prefer the classic ships over the newer ones (we like the size and intimacy), but of the two new ones, we prefer the fantasy over the dream. The Wonder is probably our favorite, but we're excited to see the upgrades. Check out the dry dock thread to see pictures!

I would be glad to share tips! It will be next week before I can post some. Having done 12 cruises before I do have a few ideas :)

out of our 111 nights aboard disney ships, only 14 have been spent on the Dream (7) or Fantasy (7) so 97 have been on the Magic and we LOVE the Magic. enjoyed the time on the newer ships, but prefer the smaller ships.

I'm gonna run two 5k's on Castaway.. My first and my last :tiptoe::yay:.. haha.. anything for a souvenir.. haha

Same for me! We are going to start "training" for it (walking) this week. Short notice but will do our best. Just got back from disney world 2 weeks ago and did 9 miles a day at the parks and did not get a souvenir for it, so I know I can do it! I want that keepsake! In 12 cruises I have never done it!

Would be glad to sit and talk to you! I do not have a large client base because I mostly book travel for my trips I go with my team on or that they take for business. We do Disney trips because it is fun. In 2 years I am taking my team builders and their families on a Disney Cruise as a thank you for their work in our business and of course I will be booking them all :).

Suggestion for debt free cruising is to prepay your gratuities by your Paid In Full date. Also DD has been buying a $100 Disney gift card each month for a while so she won't need to put any shipboard charges on a credit card.

We put a whole bunch of gift cards on our last cruise thinking we were going to spend $$ and most of it ended up back on the cards cause we spent very little. Live and learn that next time take the cards on the ship and use them as needed instead of calling all of them in and having a big onboard credit.
