Thrilled that we just booked our first family trip to WDW today! :woohoo: My DH and I have only been once before on our honeymoon in '95. Now we have a DS8 and a DS5 (who will turn 6 during the trip!) :bday: We've been talking about going to them forever so we've decided now that we've booked it, we're going to stop talking about it (with them anyway) and keep the date a surprise! :rolleyes1 We're booked in at ASM from Nov. 25-Dec. 1. Anyone else going then? What should we expect weather and crowd wise? Do tell.... :hyper2: I'm so excited that I'm bursting at the seams! :yay:

I am going from November 20th to the 26th First Christmas Trip.:santa: :cloud9:

Don't forget to book Merry Christmas Party Tickets are available. We are going on the 25th I can not wait.

we're going the same dates and staying at POFQ. i have the same questions about weather and crowds. we've always gone in summer or spring so we're looking forward to the different season and would like to know more about touring that time of year.

thx!!

i don't look often, but i was surprised this was buried so deep! help, there must be some veterans who can give advice and insight to to this rookie traveler, and words of wisdom regarding what to expect in late november. are my expectations of low crowds and easy touring right???

Phred-since you're going the same dates as us, I was wondering if you'll be taking advantage of all the holiday extra's at that time of year?:santa: We've ordered our tickets for MVMCP for Tuesday the 27th and plan to do the Candlelight Processional at Epcot on Wednesday the 28th. (dinner package at LeCellier) Monday the 26th is my DS's 6th Birthday so we've planned a character breakfast and character dinner at MK. This is our first trip with the kids, am I missing anything?

We're going Nov 19th - Dec 6th :dance3:
I'd definitely recommend MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional.
As for the weather, this is our first time going in November, but last year when we went in December the weather was gorgeous - just into late 70s/ early 80s most days and hardly any rain (apart from the Tornados on Xmas day of course!! :scared1: )
With regard to crowds, I've been reading around on the DIS :disrocks: and in guidebooks and although I'm sure it will be busy over Thanksgiving weekend, hopefully from then on it should be a breeze (anyway it can't be any worse then Dec 26 - 28th last year - what a squeeze! :crowded:
Good luck all with your holiday planning :cheer2:

hello; we haven't planned anything "extra" like MVMCP or the candlelight procession--what is this by the way , but we are doing several charactor meals. my DD18 will always be a princess princess: so we have to go to cindy's for breakfast. i guess i'm hoping between the lighter crowds and EMH's we'll have the time we need for rides and that we won't need the additional time MVMCP provides, but is the parade and fireworks worth the extra money?? we enjoy these 2 things, but the rides are the main attraction for us

phred

phred-I think MVMCP will be worth it (pending we don't get terrible weather that night!). I've never been before, but our boys DS8 and DS5 are Christmas crazy, so just the thought of them enjoying a Christmas parade with Santa Claus, hot cocoa, Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas reading and snow on Main St. gives me goose bumps! :santa: Yes, it is expensive. But what I say to my DH is once the money's gone, forget about it! Selectively forget how much the tickets cost and just enjoy. We do plan on having our youngest nap that afternoon so he'll be able to stay up until midnight and enjoy the attractions with (hopefully) minimal waits. The Candlelight Processional (I've heard) is the reading of the nativity with Christmas music, a huge choir and a guest celebrity reader at Epcot in the evenings, at the American Pavillion. Please find some threads on here about it, or look up info on www.allears.net It sounds wonderful! We plan to book a dinner package through LeCellier for priority seating. I've read that it is an excellent show, that's not to be missed, and well worth the line ups! Also, don't forget to stop in at MGM and see the Osborne Christmas Light display! I can't wait till the 29th to get my ADR's booked!

We're there from Nov 25th to Dec 10th!!! See you there Tink!!! We're staying at POFQ for 7 nights, then a Disney 4 night cruise and the last 4 nights? Not sure yet! We have our MVMCP tickets for 29th November - we loved it last year. This year we aren't doing the Candlelight Processional though we did enjoy it last year. Weather was great so I hope we aren't disappointed this year!

We're going to be there Nov. 24th thru Dec. 1st staying at Wilderness Lodge. I'm planning on doing the Osborne Family Lights on the 25th, MVMCP on the 27th, and The Candlelight Proc. hopefully combined w/Le Cellier on the28th. I have two questions: 1 - If the weather is bad for MVMCP, can they be exchanged for another night? and 2 - Should I go ahead and make ressies for Le Cellier on the first day I can make ADR's and then when they release package info on the Cand. Pro. see if I can change it to that?

As far as what I learned last year your MVMCP tickets are non transferable, sorry! We did have amazing weather for our party last year - shorts and tees at midnight, but I know it can be cold and rainy too!

As far as the Candlelight Processional, last year you could not transfer your prior restaurant bookings to the package. However, we made earlier reservations anyway(Le Chefs) and cancelled them when we booked the package. Le Cellier will be the favourite restaurant, so you will have to be on the phone quickly.

We are going from Nov. 26-Dec. 4. Yahoo!!! Have tickets for MVMCP and doing other fab things. Counting the days!:rotfl: :rotfl:

DH and I are going 11/25 - 12/2/07... very excited!!! I'm driving him nuts with the planning! We are staying at POFQ

:cheer2:

We'll be at the BWI 11/25 thru 12/6. Went Thanksgiving week last year and it was freezing, had to buy sweats & jackets for everyone. The parks were packed all day every day, hopefully the week after will be much better this year!! Can't wait.:cool1:

We will be at OKW from November 25th to December 2nd. We normally go the first or second week of December, but are hoping the crowds will be smaller the week after Thanksgiving. I guess we'll find out.

DH, DD-11, DS-16, and I will be there 11/25-12/1 - ASMo for now....unless they give good discounts then movin on up lol ....MVMCP 11/27 - Candelight - 11/25!! Can't wait!!

So did we. We also bought the kids gloves one night. A CM told DH that it was the coldest November that he could remember.

It is official. We are going 11/24-11/30 and are staying at CBR. We haven't made a decision in regards to MVMCP. The whole family is excited and we can't wait.

We are still trying to decide the dates for our trip -- I really want to go just after Thanksgiving (travel down on the 24th or 25th) but am nervous about crowds flying that weekend. We've never flown around Thanksgiving -- has anyone flown down that weekend before. If so, how crazy are the airports??

Last year we last Orlando the day after Thanksgiving and the airport was not bad at all. We got through security relatively fast and and plenty of time to get to our gate.
