November 24, 2012 ~ Western Fantasy ~ Pachyderms of the Caribbean

Anyone have any insight to if the DCL webpage changed how the calls are? It says one can enter the name of the person getting the call and the person who sent the call but it doesn't let me enter that information. Am i missing something?

Congratulations. Feels good, doesn't it? Now the planning really starts.

Jon, for this technically challenged guy, just getting the photobucket set up is difficult but I'm really going to give it a shot this year. Just haven't been successful at it in the past.

As a technically challenged individual, can asomeone answer a question for me. When I post to the Facebook page that is set up for the group, does that go on my "wall" so that any of my "friends" can see it as well as the group? Reason I'm asking is that we don't want the kids to know we are going on this trip (they may get mad that we aren't taking them and then there goes my Christmas gifts! Of course if they really wanted to go, they could pay for it themselves since they are 30, 28 and 26). This morning it sort of just "hit me" that with the posting on Facebook, I may have blown that since they all live on that internet site and all look at my DW's facebook postings (which she never does since she doesn't know how to do it).

I maybe able to help you with photobucket.

As for FB, it depends on FB. Sometimes it shows up that you posted stuff to a group that other people do not belong to. I know I get posts from some of my friends that they posted into a group. So, your children may have seen posts.

Janice, I don't know where you came up with that but it is great! I've saved it and will send it to the kids the day we leave. Thank you.

Thanks for the offer. Maybe I'll bring the I-Pad to the DIS meet and we can do it then. I am planning on working on it when I'm down in the Smokies in a few weeks. Plan on sitting on a chalet deck talking things over with my good friends Jack (Daniels) and (Maker's) Mark. Jack and Mark have a way of straightening things out when you listen long enough.

That was designed by RustManFan from the "Creative DISigns" section of the DISboards. It seemed appropriate for you :thumbsup2

Sorry, I haven't been so active here but keeping up with the FB page is sure convenient.

Anyway just to update the FE page, we are in 7506. We don't have my parents stateroom number yet but they wont be participating anyway so don't worry about it.

My family will also be coming:

BrutusBru (Connecticut) Janna, DH Will, DS Matthew (4) (Stateroom: GTY)

Our stateroom has changed. We are now in 2036. Please update the roll call & FE list. Thank you!

Those that are not on Facebook and may not have seen it, it seems the port taxes have dropped. So if you are Paid in Full, you may want to contact your booking agent(TA or Disney). I just e-mailed mine, so I do not know about my reservation yet.

The drop is small, but as someone said, it could be a drink on the boat.

Do you know when the drop happened? We paid ours in full about 7-9 days ago.

I paid mine on August 20th and my TA replied back that at the time the port taxes were already reduced.
Government Taxes & Fees: $207.18 - Original Taxes

Government Taxes & Fees: $198.90 - Taxes paid at Final

So, it sounds like they were already reduced for you.

Well we may or may not be on this cruise. We are playing a kind of Russian roulette or maybe more of a game of chicken with DCL. :upsidedow Looking at the availabilty and prices on these cruises and looking at what DCL has been doing with discounts to fill the cruises these past few months we decided to take a bit of a gamble in hopes of snagging a great discount. We cancelled our cruise reservation and booked a free dining package at WDW for the same week. If a great discount comes up then we will cancel WDW and jump back on board the cruise. It is a risk because if the discounts do not show up or the ship fills then we are left out but our worst case scenario is a 9 night WDW vacation during the holidays - not exactly a bad consolation prize. ;)

In the meantime I am continuing to plan for the cruise & WDW. Not knowing what we are doing for a while may drive me a bit crazy but if we can save $1,000 or more doing this then I figure the extra stress will be worth it.

Still here as well. Just taking advantage of the warm weather here in the great white north before the weather remembers why we're called that. Only a couple more weeks of good pool weather left before I'll have to close up for the season.
