73 days for us!! We honeymooned at POR in 2001 and now taking our 2 kids (ages 8 and 12) for the first time. Getting super excited but getting a bit concerned that all the resorts are completely booked that week. Not real sure why that is.

count me and DW in! we changed our 10/2016 trip to this years week of Thanksgiving to see the Osbourne lights one more time!

Paid the rest of our balance yesterday. Can't believe we are already within the 60 day window!! Last year I remember time just flying by once we got this point.

Out of curiosity, I checked availability of other resorts for the 6 nights we'll be there (ya know, just in case I wanted to make a change!). There was not ANY availability at ANY resort... Starting to freak out a little... We went mid-November last year and the crowd levels were just fine... Was hoping for a similar experience but now I'm getting nervous. If the parks are going to be super packed, just want to be able to start mentally preparing now.

Same here. We paid in full recently and have been checking other resorts, just in case. I've never seen such a lack of availability. We were at Disney the same time last year. Consider myself mentally prepared!

I've read some posts that say just because the resorts are full, it doesn't mean the parks will be full because they are designed to handle much more people. However since we have only been in what are considered, or use to be considered, slow times, I can't really picture in my mind what that means. I have tried to look it up but really haven't found anything to figure out what it might actually be like. I guess if the crowds are high, we will just follow the advice I have seen for high seasons. Get there early, take a break and come back in the evenings. We are doing MVMCP one night, so maybe that will be good. Crowded or not, at least we will be at WDW!!

Exactly!! I also had been reading some things about resorts filling for the Food and Wine Half Marathon and that the parks may not be busy just because the resorts are. We'll be there 11/8-11/14. I can still make fast passes for anytime I want at any park (except for 7DMT) during our stay. We got all our FP+ and ADR (including BOG) that we wanted for that week and I believe we have a pretty good plan overall. Just like you said, busy or not we're going to WDW!!!!!

I was playing around with the reservation site this morning and ran Monday - Thursday of that week just to see what would happen. 17 different resorts came up all the way from values to deluxe and DVC. POP and all 3 All-Stars, POR and POFQ, CBR, Coronado, and several deluxe resorts show openings. I think maybe with all that is going on in Nov, the weekends are making it look very crowded when you look at bookings with weekends involved.

I just re-ran my same searches from before (which didn't include weekends), and there is alot more availability now. The fall room offer expired yesterday, so it looks like they released more rooms into the pool. Even though my previous searches showed no availability with the offer or without, somehow rooms magically appeared overnight! Sneaky, sneaky....

42 days left to go! Hopefully it won't be as crowded as the resort availability would have me believe...

Last time I went the first week of November with my family the parks were practically empty! Crossing my fingers the crowds will be low-ish this time around as well.

The only time we have been there during Thanksgiving week was in 2007. We did the MK on Friday, the day before we our cruise left. Honestly, it was not near as bad as I thought it would be. That's been a while ago though.

We will also be there during Thanksgiving 11/22 - 11/30 and we also went Thanksgiving week 5 years ago. Early in the week the crowds were very good but then it got more crowded Wednesday thru Saturday but we still had a great time. Cannot wait!

We'll be there 11/20-11/29. Got to do FP at midnight and due to some glitch it would not let me do online checkin. I tried again when I got up to go to work and then I could.

Your dates was our original dates, but we found out that our oldest DD will be in the Nutcracker ballet and the 4 performances are 11/20 thru 11/22. So we cannot leave until after the afternoon ballet on Sunday. DW has told me that I have to have all our Christmas lights up before we leave, its not the Osbournes but there are a lot
I will be up late tonight to do FPs, we rarely do online check-in so no big deal there. We are REALLY looking forward to this trip Have a great time

We are going Nov 17-23 staying at the Yacht Club! Getting more and more excited each day!!! I'm still working on getting our dining reservations down since we only booked a few months ago. It's tricky!!
