November 2014 Car Rentals

chefmb, That seems like a decent price. However, some of us have found better deals using different discount codes. Right now I have a midsize rental for 115. Prices did go up about 2 weeks ago and I haven't looked today. Do you know which rental company that is through?

1stTimeDisneyer---Hotwire doesn't tell you which company until you've booked. It is in the terminal. I used Hotwire in 2011 or 2012 (forget which trip) and the company was Alamo. It could be any of them, though.

Hi, try thecheapestcarrentals.com. Offers great deals, my family always use this.
Highly recommended.

rean--Thanks! I actually booked with hotwire before seeing this. I could have saved $11 using your suggestion, but now I know for next time! I just wanted to book and be done with that part of the trip:) I ended up with a midsize through Alamo for $150.75. Not too bad, and now I can check that off the list!

Jumping in! Just decided on a last minute surprise trip for the kids. Hoping rates will still come down a bit for 11/26-12/3

I'm thinking they will. Me, my wife and son were down in August and the lowest rate I got was 2 days before leaving. It's NEVER been like that all the years I've been going down there.

So keep checking every day right up until the day before you leave, I'm sure they'll drop. And an fyi, I booked cancelled and rebooked like 4 times the final week before leaving because it dropped by something like $20-30 different days 4x that last week.

It's weird doing this again after all the months of posts in the August thread, lol. I ended up getting a Premium through Costco/Alamo for 14 days in August for $302 all in said and done. Since it's just us alone this time for 11 days I'm hoping to get something smaller for maybe $140-$165 but we'll see. Right now I have a mid-size booked for 11 days Costco/Alamo for $220... Yeah, not happy with it but I'm checking every day. Oh, this is all with a p/u and drop off at MCO, in terminal agencies only, I won't bother shuttling to six-t, payless and those other places.

Thanks - You're right it is weird doing it again but it's ok, can't believe we're going back already! We have always been lucky to get a great price in August but I'm concerned because of the holiday this time around. I always do the same thing book, rebook, cancel etc..I guess it's time to start stalking! I feel so unprepared lol

I have a 10 day rental booked Feb 28-March 10 for an economy through Hertz for a whopping $86 TOTAL. I really wish I could get that for my Nov 22-29trip. Best I have as of now is $110 through Alamo, also an economy. I check every day, multiple times a day.

Yes, you have to keep playing the game. We're going the Thanksgiving break, and the rates started off over $200 for a mid size car. A few weeks ago, the rate dropped down to $116 on Dollar and $123 on Alamo. Now the rates are through the roof. You just have to keep checking. I also check the Dis Board to see when others notice that the rates have dropped too. :moped:

Would you be able to share the codes and for which company?

I found a great rate w/Alamo - $119 for 11/1 to 11/9 - picking up & returning to the WDW Car Care Center but returning after they close. When I inquired if they had taxis after hours, Alamo told me they have an arrangement w/Dolphin that returns could be made there after the Car Care Center closed, at no extra charge. Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone done of this?

I've returned an Alamo care to the Dolphin off hours, but it was a couple of years ago.

Not sure if anyone else is going Thanksgiving week, but I was just able to get Nov 22-29 for $92.72 with everything included through Budget. It was for a compact with pick up at MCO & drop off in Fort Lauderdale, but it was the same price MCO to MCO. I used Costco code W852802 & coupon MUGZ165. Before this my best rate was Alamo for $110.

What company is this with?

Thank you for sharing, but it didn't help me lower my price. :( Prices seemed to bottom out around early August and I haven't been able to lower my price since then. I've given up at this point.

Nothing great for me so far. We're picking up at MCO on 11/26 at 11:30pm and returning on 12/3 at 6:30pm. Right now I'm booked with Dollar's Lock & Go for $223.19. It's not horrible and I know it's a holiday but when I compare it to the $243 that I paid for a full size with Alamo for 2 weeks in August it sounds like a lot. Hopefully it will come down in the next couple weeks. :worship:

I am getting $92.72 or your reservation dates using the codes I mentioned above for a compact. A intermediate is a few dollars more. Even a full-size is only $106.

This is weird. If I select Canada as my residence (which it is) I get the $92 rate. If I select US I get WAY higher. Wonder why that is? The difference is not exchange because I always look at USD and if it was, the Canadian would be higher anyway.
