There are ways around it. I've been a witness of it.

I'm sorry, but there is not a way around this policy. I was a TA for years and now work for a travel site and track these kinds of historic discounts and we have used Free dining personally, every year since 2005. I do not know of anyone on all my years as a TA, or on this board or through my work and travel blog who have ever been able to apply a FD discount where there check in date did not fall within the promo dates. You simply can not lead people to believe there "is a way around" this policy and procedure.

You can do a room only reservation for 1 to 3 nights and start a package on the day the promo starts, that is the best way to handle the situation when your check in date is before the FD promo starts.

Yes there is a way around. Do you want to argue when it has happened for my family? Just because you haven't heard of it with your history doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Okay, IF it happened to your family, you were NOT given a FD discount under any kind of normal set of booking circumstances and you should consider it a pixie-dusted fluke. The ONLY way your family member would have been able to receive a discount under those circumstances would be if a CM supervisor went in and overrode everything and used their personal log in codes to apply some sort of discount. That is NOT going to happen but in very rare instances and the, literally, thousands of people who read these boards should not be told they can apply a FD discount to a reservation where their check in date does not fall within the FD promo dates, because they can not.

we are from the UK and I have booked through the Disney Travel Company for our holiday in November 16th - 30th does anyone know if we will be entitled to free dining in November? Will I get a pin code and what are they or are they only available if you live in America?

I am booking our dining reservations next week and hope that Disney may offer free dining in November for UK guests.

I have also booked our MVMCP tickets for 17th November but wondering if I should also buy tickets for 22nd November too or is once enough we have never done Disney decorated for Christmas before. This time we are travelling as empty nesters so it will be strange, a little apprehensive about doing Disney without the kids but I know we will have fun.

This will be our 8th visit last visit was 2008

Are you booked through the US Disney site? UK and US Disney FD and discount promos are usually very different. Pin codes are sent out randomly and are name-specific and non-transferrable. Most of the general public will not receive this pin code.

There are not any general public free dining dates/promos available for your dates yet. The October-December FD dates for the general public are not usually released until July, sometimes August. If the GP FD dates follow the current Pin Code FD dates, you would not qualify for the FD promo. The predicted FD promo would start on November 17, and your check in date must fall within the FD promo dates to apply it to your entire stay. What you would need to do is wait for the GP FD dates to be released and if the start date is the 17th, you could do a room only reservation for November 16 and then do a package reservation that would start on the 17th - many people do this to take advantage of a FD discount, you would simply have them link your room only and package reservations in the booking system.

We were booked to be in Disney this year for 29th April - 13th May at the Wilderness Lodge with FD but we cancelled as our daughter told us they were expecting their second child in August 2012 and the baby was due the end of April! It was a nice reason to cancel holiday though and our granddaughter was born on 16th April and she is gorgeous and doing well.

So we talked about rebooking and we thought it would be nice to go in November but all the FD offers are no longer available now. So it will be a bonus if FD is offered again for November and if not no problem.

Unfortunately, since you are booked through the UK site, you can not apply a FD discount that would come out and be available on the US Disney site - they are 2 totally separate entities.

I would highly suggest looking at the UK Disney forums here on the Disboards and they could probably give you a lot more insight into discount and promos for UK visitors.

Hi 411, just have to ask but I thought the pins they are sending out start November 11-17. I'm only picking this particular week because when some people posted the dates I noticed I would probably have to do a room only ress on 11-10 so I could start my pkg on the 11th.

Hey, you are correct, those November dates would qualify if the pin code dates go public and if the other poster would have been booked through the US Disney site. I am trying to work on my blog post for Monday and track some other discount dates for fall cruises and I think I transposed some numbers. I've been working and posting in between games at a soccer tournament today. After next week on going to be taking a little beak from the boards and all my electronic devices! lol! Thanks for that clarification

Well don't be gone for too long because I look for your advice when it comes to my up coming trip. So far I have not gotten the new pin code and most pin codes I have gotten have been through snail mail. If they have always sent you pins through snail mail, would that be the way you will receive them all the time. I mean they have always had my email but have never received pins that way.

I am so jealous! My friend just got an email pin code for free dining 8/25-10/2, 10/18-10/31, 11/11-11/23, 11/30-12/4, and 12/15-12/22. Boy I wish we had gotten one of these emails; all of the possible times we figured we could go this year, this email covers all of them.

No, that is not correct. Your CHECK IN date must fall within the FD promo dates to have the discount applied to your entire stay. If your check IN dates does not fall within those dates, even if every other day of your vacation, does they will not apply the discount to your reservation. There is no way around this, it is not up to the CMs discretion, that is how the WDW R
reservations system is set up.

I had this problem in October, we were there from the 14th-20th and FD started on the 19th that week. Because we checked in on the 14th and not the 19th we were not able to receive it. It sucks but what can you do.

It is just random. I have done all the same as you and have gotten nothing for years. As I stated a few posts ago I would have loved to get the most recent pins. We really need FD to go anymore. DH also called last night and there's nothing under our names either. He told the CM about our friend's email and she just said "it's random but make sure you are registered on Disney's websites and check your email spam folder".

Check your email or call Disney directly. A new PIN for free dining was just released. I think the Nov check in dates around your timeframe were the 11th through the 23rd. Public discounts won't be out until at least July. Good luck and so sorry for your situation.

Got a snail mailer today from Disney Destinations. Isn't the FD I was hoping for but it is discounts for November. It isn't a PIN either but there is a package code, so I don't think it only has to apply to me. Here's the details:

Value Resorts:
$113 per night, plus tax in a standard room, For most stays Sunday-Thursday nights 11/1/13-11/22/13 and 11/30/13
Moderate Resorts:
$181 per night, plus tax in a standard room, For most stays Sunday-Thursday nights 11/1/13-11/22/13 and 11/30/13
Deluxe Resorts:
$316 per night, plus tax in a standard room at AKL or WL, For most stays Sunday-Thursday nights 11/1/13-11/25/13 and 11/30/13
