It seems like such a relief to not have to make ADRs. This will be our first time doing the quick service plan and I'm excited to see how it works out.
We did qs last year and it was fine! This is our first foray into ADRs so we'll see which we like better. We're going for 2 weeks so I just can't imagine eating qs for that long.

So I made this dining review type book for a fellow DISer and she wanted to pay me for my time BUT I said no its alright-its some pixie dust for your trip:) well anyway she did a WONDERFUL thing and sent my girls new bookbags and stationary sets from the Disney store!!!! And a gift card!!  THANK YOU~You know who you are ::yes:: :worship:   :woohoo: :yay:   My girls were so excited! That sure was some unexpected pixie dust!!! :faint:::yes:::cloud9:

Hi there. I am new here, well sort of, I have been lurking for a while. This board is awesome. My family is booked at the AOA in a Finding Nemo Suite from Nov 21-24th. We have 3 children (9 yr old son, 3 yr old daughter and 4 yr old daughter). We live in Tampa, however this is our first trip to DisneyWorld and we are all very excited. :jumping1:

Welcome!! Glad you joined us. Have you started planning yet?

Of course! ;) I'm a big time planner, so this board is right up my alley. ::yes::

As of right now we are booked with a MYW package at AOA for 3 nights with 4 day park hoppers and dining plan. However, I came up with a few calculations and I am really thinking of dropping the dining plan and just paying OOP for food.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to call reservations and have them take everything off my package except for the room? I don't want to lose our Nemo room in the process of making some changes. My reason for this is that I seem to be able to get everything cheaper if I pay for them seperately. Since I am a florida resident I can get the resident 4 day park hoppers and reserve the room seperately while knocking off the dining plan. Doing this saves me around $840. I'm pretty sure a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 very picky kids) we can eat for less than $840 for 4 days. I am up for suggestions/help!

You guys rock!:thumbsup2

It really is! DH and I discussed it on his lunch break and his only concern is it not being enough food. I told him he's flat crazy lol A lot of CS meals are larger than table service meals, IMO to begin with. And Disney has such a huge variety of CS foods, it doesn't have to be burgers and fries at every meal. You can get ribs, salmon, rotisserie chicken, sushi, pasta, tons of stuff ;)

Has anybody done either of the putt putt courses at WDW before. My BFF said she is willing to go and I am not sure which one to do. BTW she has no athletic ability whatsoever and I am a scratch golfer, which is why this is huge for her to offer. Of course I now have to video Wishes for her. It is totally like a survivor challenge. I guess it is worth it. :lmao:

DH and I have done Wintersummerland both courses and Fantasia, but just one of the courses. We much preferred Wintersummerland. We maybe did something wrong, but for us the long walk from the bus stop to Fantasia was brutal. After walking for days in the parks, DH actually got a blister walking to Fantasia. It was brutally hot, so that didn't help. As far a challenge goes, I thing Fantasia offers more. But for a scratch golfer, I don't think you'll find it challenging. For just pure fun, I would go with Wintersummerland. Just hope on the BB bus and there you are! Have fun!:goodvibes

I would love to do this also. Which one is more kid friendly/easier? Do you know which one is easier to get to and how?

I think the Wintersummerland is definitely more appealing to kids. Not easy especially, but easier than Fantasia. Depends on the ages of the kids. Definitely easier to get to.

So i've been working on my dining reviews from last trip and now I just want to do the quick service plan again! lol I'm not sure if I can talk the husband into it, but i'm going to try! I think this is why i'm just having so much trouble with my ADR's, because I honestly don't want to have to make them.

I think you should do whatever makes your trip more magical. Sounds as though QS would be best for you. As far as QS meals, we find them large enough to share and there is more variety than ever before. Try DTD Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express. Columbia Harbour House in MK is a favorite as well.

Got a sale email from Southwest today and for ONCE Houston was actually having fares on sale. Got an $84 credit! :cool1:

What are your dates? Are you not eligible for free dining?

You are so right! I think he'll be really surprised. As I said in my earlier response, we split CS meals and are fine. Don't forget there are lots of great snacks in case your DH needs a bit more between meals. Sunshine Seasons is awesome as well as the sandwiches at Kringla Bakeri in Norway. Also the sandwiches at Starring Rolls are great. I know you probably know all this, but I can never resist once I get to talking about food at Disney! :rotfl:

Nov 21-24 (Thanksgiving). Free Dining is blacked out during this time. :worried:

In that case, are you a member of AAA? I would check with them to see if there is a discount available. You could definitely eat more cheaply than $800+ for your family for 4 days. Assuming you do CS mostly of course.

How long have you lived in Tampa? I think if I lived that close I would be going to Disney all the time! Maybe it's different once you live there? ;)

im gonna attemp to make some shirts but im scared lol this will be my first time.

It's funny because when we did the dining plan the first time, we did the regular dining plan. I was determined to not have to pay oop for any food while we were there...my DH thought he was going to starve. He would joke about telling me he was going to the bathroom and going off to buy snacks. The first day in, he realized how wrong he was. There was plently of food. I don't see the quick service being any different. When we pay oop for cs we don't buy dessert, so he's really getting more food this way.

Good afternoon!! I am new to the disboards....will be traveling to DisneyWorld 13-23 November. My kids keep telling me enough Disney talk already (they have no idea how much planning is required), so I am glad to have a group of people that are as excited as I am....
