So I am torn. I am thinking that FD will not include LM rooms. So do I stay with the new resort and pay for dining, stay somewhere else and get free dining, or do a split stay and have the best of both worlds. Guess I will be doing some disney math today.

We decided to stay at AoA LM room. It is more important for us to stay at a new resort than get free dining. We are just gonna bring food for breakfast and eat 1 or 2 dinners off property. Still keeping Ohana for breakfast, Canadian Steakhouse, and Chef Mickeys. Hopefully everybody else will get what they want as well.

Okay, so am I nuts to just pass this up all together? This is our first trip, I'm not ready to try a split stay, I don't even want to try that check out and check back in to my same hotel thing. I just want my Poly theme park view room. We're checking in on the 5th and leaving on the 15th. Or am I being really stupid?

You have two options, if you really cant arrive on the 1st, and you have to arrive on the 5th, maybe do a split stay(like mod the first part) then Poly the second with FDing OR Poly the whole stay with 2 diff packages though. Me personally? I would ask a CM to run the numbers when it gets released(which they will do) because alot of times, spliting tickets will be expensive, Disney only charges like $8 per ticket when you get up to like 6,7,8 day tickets. By splitting that, you will have to pay full price for some. It may NOT be worth it.

That's what we did! Back when the pins were coming out for FD, I realized that the week we are going (Jersey Week) would probably be blacked out on the general public offer since it was blacked out on the pins. The 5th-8th are the only dates we could go so we decided to rent points! Now we're staying at AKL for the same price I would have paid to stay at CSR, so we got a discount anyway, even if it wasn't FD!!!

That's what we did! Back when the pins were coming out for FD, I realized that the week we are going (Jersey Week) would probably be blacked out on the general public offer since it was blacked out on the pins. The 5th-8th are the only dates we could go so we decided to rent points! Now we're staying at AKL for the same price I would have paid to stay at CSR, so we got a discount anyway, even if it wasn't FD!!!

Thats great that you were able to rent points for AKL!!

I want to stay at the AKL. And I keep telling myself.......one day. DH and I just can't seem to break away from the WL.

I think the best thing we can do for ourselves with a Disney vacation. Is book what we can afford/want. Then when/if discounts come out ..... all the better.

One more thing......I love your name. We have 3 boys and a girl.

i am so frusterated right now, the fd would have saved us some money which really would have helped but of course its blacked out during our stay and at the one hotel dd was really looking forward to. I'm sorry. Really I am.
But you will be in Dsiney at a resort that your DD really wanted.
Who knows....maybe something will change.

Hello again my friends, for the second consecutive year I´m bringin the Free Dining offer news for this fall, and the best it´s that only in 10 days it will be out
OK after all the negative comments about the credibility of my previous year announce and after the release in the exact day that I have predicted I hope that all of you are more confident this year.


These are the dates of the new offer that will be released in July 12

9/30 to 10/4

10/19 to 11/1

11/9 to 11/15

11/23 to 11/29

12/10 to 12/13

All resorts will be included except the LM rooms at AOA.-

Like the last promotion quick service for values and standar dining plan for moderates and the luxes

Hope that these dates work well with your plans and knowing that this announce will bring happiness for a lot of families I send all of you a lot of Pixie dust

I actually NEVER thought we would be able to afford AKL, I have looked at rack rates and even rates with room discounts/pins, so I was over the moon when I realized that my DH and I could stay there for 3 nights renting points for the same price as a mod! So looking forward to it, it's our 21st Anniversary!

I totally get the frustration. We changed our dates a while back b/c I realized if fd came out, we would be there during a black out. In doing so, we lost out on AoA which bummed me. But now we're at POP and at the right dates for fd and I'm a happy camper. It comes down to which you really, really want: FD or AoA. A shame you can't have both, but there it is. Hope you get back to your happy place and feeling the magic. After all, you'll still be at Disney.

That's exactly what we plan to do...visit AoA. It will still be there next year when we go and maybe easier to get into. Meanwhile, we'll enjoy POP and our upgrade to reg dining. If staying at AoA is a huge deal to your family, keep the reservation there. If free dining is more beneficial, change resorts. It's so difficult to make that decision, but once you do, don't look back with regrets. Just enjoy your vacation and focus on what you love about it!!

That is awesome! What a great anniversary gift to yourselves!! We love eating at Boma, but that's as close as we've ever gotten to staying there. I think you will just love it. Good for you!

Yeah. We'll probably be happier with FD. And we'll be saving on our reservation too since AoA costs slightly more. No way will we regret our decision! We enjoy the AS resorts too! Cozy...
