NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Thread~ Everybody is Welcome~Part 3 already!

Okay I was thinking about it all day. I wasn't planning on any DTD time, but...

If I leave the GF at noon will I have enough time to go to DTD and be back at Chef Mickey's by 545. I have no idea truly how long travel time from place to place will be, is it doable? We would probably only go to the big Disney store and the scrapbook store and walk around a bit. What do you think?

Be careful about how much time you leave for bus travel. Buses to and from DTD are notoriously slow in coming. So while the ride itself might only be 15-20 minutes, there's no way to know how long it will take for your bus to arrive in the first place.

Or better yet, keep some money budgeted for a taxi if the time gets too tight. I just hate to see you have to get stressed about missing your ADR.

When I was originally making ADR's I wasn't planning on making that day a MK day, I was going to be at AK all day and I made CRT later so that we would have time to go from AK, back to resort and then MK. Now that I switched it to a MK day, I wasn't able to get an earlier ADR for CRT. Soooo now I just check every other day or so for an opening to try to make it earlier. Then again, there's 2 parades, if I can get my DD3.5 to take a later nap and then head to the party, go to dinner and then we would be able to stay up/out later... it's all a toss-up...

I honestly would never pay money for a party then spend a moment of our limited time sitting in a restaurant. That makes for a REALLY expensive meal. There's too much to do on a party night even without that chunk of time being taken up.

I do undersand your desire to get to CRT. Here's what I suggest. Stalk the November cancellation thread. I think once the Be Our Guest ADRs open up there will be a LOT more movement of ADRs than is typical. I bet you'll find something better.

Three Angels...he was like 14 at the time and I can't remember if that was the same trip he parasailed or not! I think the parasail was wen he was 13...it's a blur! LOL!!! I have to say it is a strange sensation, but the rest of us were ok, just him. Looking back I get tickled every time but I really felt horrible for him then.

I'm doing the same thing! We're staying at Pop and hoping for LM room for the 28th! My original dates (11/7-11/14) I had LM room at AoA, but when I switched, I lost AoA. But at least if I don't get in there, I can walk across the bridge to check it out. Not the same as staying there, but better than nothing. You could take a bus there and check it out too if nothing happens for you. Good luck and pixie dust that you get what you want!

If I can't get in for a room, I'm definitely going to drive over and walk around. Taking a peek is better then nothing. With my luck lately it'll be too cold to swim anyway.

There is only a small portion of rooms there that are standard, and since many don't want or need the larger suites, it is booking the standards fairly fast. I like many others, want to try out the new resort while it's new, but there is no way I would pay the suite price.

I can't justify the price for a suite for just me either. The rest of the family is interested in AOA but not coming on this trip. Maybe I can convince them to do a MNSSHP night and stay in a Cars suite. Hm, think I need to go plot.

It is possible, but keep in mind that the buses for DTD are notriously slow. Allow at least an hour for travel time each way. I have waited more than 40-60 minutes for a bus from DTD on more than 1 occasion and going to DTD isn't always fast either. Buses are supposed to come every 20 minutes, but DTD doesn't seem to stick to that rule as much. That is the one place I suggest driving to if you have a car available.

We won't have a car available at all, is this a case where it would make sense to use a taxi? Are taxi's readily available or do we have to call for one?

I have talked to a few people and we decided that this thread is just moving WAY to fast for a lot of us. We thought it might be best to split it in half. A lot of us going in early Nov have different agendas and events than those going later, with Thanksgiving and CP going on.

Anyone arriving Nov 1-17th is welcomed to come over to the other thread and post there. It's still a work in progress...I plan to get it fully done in the next week... but hopefully it will be easier to keep up with things with less people posting on each one. Of course you can post on both too.

I have thought about us taking a taxi from DTD this time too--the last few times it was an hour from there to our resort. If you have other plans that night, make sure you get to the bus stop early or you will be late...

Mommyof3, have you by any chance already ordered your photobooks from artscow? I ordered mine 2 days ago and yesterday I received an email that my order was cancelled because the Disney images are copyrighted. And they said they might not be able to refund my credit card but in order to get the refund I have to provide a paypal account. I have notified my credit card company about this.

Two of the books are almost identical to the Epcot passport ones you made. I just changed the title page.

I wanted to see if you had the same experience.

AWESOME! I for one can't wait to hear about this new resort. My kids will be staying there next Dec with some family while DH and I cruise but can't decide what section to request-Nemo or LK.

I havent gotten them but they were shipped. I will go onto my accounts and check. Ok I have 2 accounts. The epcot ones shipped, the one with 'Lebrun family' shipped, the one with character dinning shipped, Christmas one shipped. The only ones that were cancelled due to 'disney images' were courtneys and madysen's I will try doing another one WITHOUT their name to try again

I agree it is moving fast BUT thats what I like. YOu get answers, you dont have to wait 6 days for one. Im sorry if its too fast. I can only do so much. I just think you should have okay'd it with me or something~ maybe Im just being upset for no reason. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

I like that we can discuss everything from what shoes to wear in the parks. To what makeup holds up the best. All of the different oppinions has helped me to see somethings in a different light. And has even pushed me to try new things that I wasn't interested in before. This thread is a wonderful representation of Disney. Its light hearted banter that helps to keep you in the mood for your trip. Just like waiting on the CLP packages. That was so much fun knowing I had other crazy Disney people doing the same thing.

I have been around since the very first thread when it was you and Smileybug just saying good morning to each other every day, lol! I'm not going anywhere. I just try to keep up the best I can and pop in when I can. I'm not doing MVMCP or CP but I don't care.

So as for my resort changing saga...I think I'm staying put at least for now. WL CL is what we all agreed on and DH doesn't want to hear any more of my pros/cons lists. I don't have the nerve to jump the gun and make the change to our current reservation so I guess we will be sticking with it unless anything else comes up...
