I kind of wanted to see Fantasmic but we arent a family that loves shows/firework type things....:rolleyes1 maybe it will be fine just to cancel it.... then we will have time for DIsney Quest and shopping and I wont be so rushed the whole week

If you can comfortably grap that 8th day. I would go for it. But if not why not make a list starting with the really important things and work from there. Fantasmic was nice. But for us it would be near the bottom of the list. (Thats just us though :goodvibes)

See, missed one day and missed a TON of posts! So, jumping back in.

Mommyof3princess27- I think you might have missed my post where I fixed my edited dates. If you could change my dates, it would be great. If not, that's fine, too. :goodvibes

POR 11/15-11/24

Hi. :goodvibes

yes I will sorry if I missed the firsst one:goodvibes

Thank you! I love seeing the extra 2 days on there!

Hi. :goodvibes

I agree about Fantasmic. We're glad we saw it once, but it wasn't quite as good as we thought it would be. We had the Fantasmic dinner package and saw o real benefit to that. Still had to stand in line and the seats weren't very good... :sad2:

(I suppose I should divulge that this was on our week after Christmas 2007 and including New Years 2008: they were having record colds, so we froze our BUTTS off watching it, and I just don't like people enough for being in those crowds, so that MAY have negatively affected my views of Fantasmic....) :upsidedow:flower3::rotfl:

Hi. :goodvibes

I'd be fine skipping Fantasmic but it's dh's favorite show...

The funny thing was though, I didnt really want to eat at Mama Melrose's it was just to get the F! package. Still considering dropping it. If we keep it, we wont have our usually DTD so maybe Ill drop it. Im going to look the plans over again before we do anything. Thanks! :goodvibes

Is that the same book that everyone was going crazy over a while back?

It is!! I was able to get it on ebay. Still not sure about the binding, I'm afraid some pages will come out. Although I love the idea of adding pages to it. So I will have to see which way will work best!

I do want one. I guess I could buy it and tell everyone that it is a gift for my future grandchild.

Check eBay. The lady I got it from had them new for $8! I will see if I can find her name when I get home. :-)

Got a MUCH nicer CM this morning. But still not FD for us yet. :sad2: Still holding out hope.

Funny thing is with all the FD talk and AoA opening yesterday I went perusing the menus for the resorts we'll be staying at and the ones near by. Now I think I'm going to need a binder like some of you. :rotfl:

So far I've got all our reservation info printed; 3 nights at POR, 6 nights at AoA, 1 day car rental, still waiting for flights. Also have menus for POR, POFQ, AoA & POP and the overview for the Quick Service Dining Plan. Then I have the crowd calender and recommended touring dates from EasyWDW for November. Plus the Attraction Height Chart.

My DH is going to kill me when he sees it all. :rotfl2:

Do yourself a favor and buy a LARGE binder to start off. :thumbsup2 I have a 3" and it is full! I'm almost done though. I have driving directions printed, map, resort confirmations, ADR confirmations, ADR invitations, tip envelopes (meal and mousekeeping), resort maps, park maps, journal pages, coupons for the kids (henna tatoo, treat, legos, etc.), packing list... just about anything you can imagine, I have in my binder. ;)

As a wife who also has a sweet tooth I would appreciate the fact that my DH had planned the Dessert party for me, but if I found out how much it cost I'd beat him to death with one of the desserts from said Dessert party... :coffee:

:thumbsup2 Agreed! :rotfl:

How thick is it?

About an inch and half. If you would like I can try to post pics when I get home. It is very nice and I like that it is something we will always have. I plan to take it each year and use a different color marker for that year. Right now my DD is only 2 so we look at it together. It is as much for me as her! :-) I have also been collecting the Disney story books that are like the Little Golden Books. Not sure if you can buy them new but I get ours at consignment stores. I like reading the older Disney stories.

If it isn't to much trouble I would love to see picks. :goodvibes

We saw Fantasmic on our first trip, and it was OK but it just didn't "wow" us. We haven't been back at WDW yet, because it just doesn't seem worth the extra crowds at DHS and all the waiting time.

We did try it again when we were at Disneyland last year, and I think I can pretty much cross it off our list for good. The kids wanted to leave halfway through, and I would have rather done something else with our time. It's just not for us, for whatever reason...

Even though we have seen Fantasmic twice now since 2009, it is one of our favorite events. It is kind of our Must Dos every trip we take now

I don't have any followers on my PTR but I do it for myself to keep me busy lol :goodvibes
i am subscribing!

I usually do dining reports (latest one in progress, link in siggy ;) ). People like to see Disney food and it gives me something to do between trips. I don't get many comments but my threads always get a lot of hits :thumbsup2

Definitely not 30 minutes to d t d. They have the slowest transportation. I would move it to 9 at the earliest. I have waited for dtd bus for over 30 minutes before. You will have to transfer too
i agree- DTD transportation both ways is the WORST! it could take a lot longer than you expect.

Who is going to the Food & Wine Festival?

We had not initially planned to attend F&W, but when planning I realized we would arrive on the last day. After talking to DH, we decided we wanted to go even though we knew it would be very crowded. Well, now they have added an extra day...Monday, Nov 12th (Veteran's Day). I'm wondering if it would be worth the trouble of moving some ADRs and plans around to attend F&W on Monday. Moving the ADRs might prove to be difficult. I'm not really sure it's going to be any less crowded since it's Veteran's day. I'd really appreciate any thoughts.

For anyone who has been before...any advice? Can you use DP snacks for items at F&W booths? Do they come out with a menu in advance?
We are planning to do F&W on Friday am and that Sunday am. Even though they added Monday, i don't want to change all my plans, but might consider it too. The one thing i have heard is that Saturday and the evenings are really bad that last weekend. We are hoping to hit the booths at 10:45am and leave by 2pm. We did F&W last year, but in October. Loved it- had zero lines for the booths when we hit them at 10:45am.
Yes, you can use DP snack credits for some of the items, just look at the signs for the DP icons. Yes, menu will be posted in advance, you can see last year's here- i actually made a list of the ones I wanted to hit for sure. They also have a little passport you can have for free and get it stamped at each booth to remember what you ate! http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-marketplace-booths-and-menus/

this site has a lot of good info for 2012 and info on last year. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2012-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/

We're going :goodvibes That's one thing we love about November that we can hit one day of the F&W but its not there for our whole trip. Unfortunately this time we'll be there only over the weekend which I've heard is very crowded. I too am trying to find information on whether Monday will be more crowded than the weekend because it's a holiday or less crowded. :confused3 At the moment, we're going Sunday.

We love food and drinks so it's a lot of fun to go around and try everything. Lots of things can be purchased as snacks on the DDP and they will be labeled as such. The menus do normally come out in June/July. You'll see when it does on the restaurant board on the DIS but I also keep an eye on the disneyfoodblog for more information.
We are starting our trip that weekend too- probably arriving on thursday 11/8. hitting F&W friday am and sunday am. Veteran's day, monday isn't necessarily a holiday for a lot of people. It isn't for us at work at least and not for our school district. So hoping a lot of locals have to work and won't be there and hoping most of the Jersey week crowd has either departed or IS departing that day. So I imagine Monday won't be that bad, but still crowded of course, as it is the last day of the festival. I think we are going to keep our schedule to go on sunday am. we are doing MVMCP Monday night and I'd like to keep Monday am open to rest and shop at DTD, but if it sounds like Monday am might be less crowded than Sunday, i might just switch it!

Thanks! I seem to be thinking itll get crossed off. The kids would rather go to DTD that day and eat at T-Rex and go to DIsney Quest.... I know them and all the stores(even if its just to look) is what they will want to do. Besides that will allow us to start our trip in the magic kingdom and finish it there eating with winnie the pooh

speaking of binders.........I used to keep one, but to be honest, now i keep everything digitally online and when it comes to using my schedule in the park, i've found i like something small. I usually take our daily schedule, type it up, tape/glue or print on notecards- like index size and then mom laminates the cards. then we punch a hole and put a key ring through. it is the perfect size to grab (and store in a backpack or small purse) and look at our daily schedule and ADRs. I can't find a pic, but could take one. Here is the info i put on it:

first card- reservation # for hotel, rental car confirmation #, flight info
daily schedule card would look like this:
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11

7:15am wake up, brkfst in room
8:30am head to Epcot
9am Epcot opens
10:45am hit F&W booths
2pm break
4:30pm to Poly
5:15pm dinner at Ohana
7pm to MK (open til 11pm)

everything else i keep online and accessible in more detail and on my mobile phone. tons of apps for you to use for that.

also- here are some cute wrist bands i ordered to put our cell on it and have DS wear in case he gets lost:

i agree, just skip it. you can see it next time. i am not a huge fan of F! and haven't seen it in at least 6-7 years at WDW. saw it at DL a couple of years ago and i think it is so much better at DL anyways. :)

I LOVE this at Disneyland, but haven't made it to WDW's yet. We tend to show up last minute and find a 'good enough' spot though, so we never "waste" time doing so?

I am doing something like that. I have my binder that I will use here and keep in the room and then cards for days at the park. I love those bands. Where did you get them? What are they made of? Thanks for posting them.
