November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Since changing to AKL I decided we needed to change the tone of this trip from kiddo-palooooza to family R&R. So I cancled a few of my ADRS and booked a breakfast and a dinner at Boma. Hubby agreed since we are paying to stay at this amazing hotel we need to spend more time there. So we have commited to leaving the parks by 3 so we can spend the rest of the day at the resort. Something we would not have done when we were booked at AoA.

Sounds wonderful! You will have a great time- I am jealous that you get to stay at AKL. There is a lot to do and see there- it will be nice to really take time to enjoy the resort.

We love AKL. That is where we are staying as well. They have such great resort activities like movies by theool at night, animal activities, marshmallow roasting and if you are into hidden Mickey's there are tons of great ones to find while there. We love this resort and our kids do too. Hope you have a blast taking it all in.

So our trip ends Monday November 12th. We do not have park hoppers and are spending that day at H.S. and intend to enjoy Osborne Lights until close at 8pm. I need suggestions on a great dinner to wrap up the trip. This is our first trip so I have no personal basis for opinion but it seems like most feel H.S. lacks in real good dinner options.....so should we dine at H.S. or go to downtown Disney or back to Wilderness Lodge....we are already eating at Kat Cora's Kouzinas on the day we arrive....

My son thinks I am crazy. I bought some disney gift cards at Kroger because they are 4X the gas points now, and just looking at them made me smile and sing! Can't wait. So exciting that we can book Be Our Guest on the 20th at Noon and now I read that dessert party isn't sold out like I thought but just not available yet. THanks my disney friends for that info!

I am going to have to say goodbye for a while! :( I start Law School on Monday and probably will not have time to keep up with every one! See you all in the happiest place on Earth in November!!

I am joining your club, returning to teaching on Tuesday (after hopefully securing a BOG on Monday afternoon...thats a good ending to summer!) It's been a fun summer of following this thread daily, sometimes more than once a day. I will certainly have "November Trip Planners" withdrawal for awhile!

If you are on dining plan, I would do Yachtsman or Cape May. You can walk from park or take the boat to Beach or Yacht club. We loved the boat.:thumbsup2

So I just about had a heart attack yesterday. I had priced our trip and just about booked and then DH said he wanted me to wait until I talk to my boss so we didn't have the hassle of getting the $200 refund. Soooo, I went to book yesterday and Free Dining was sold out for our dates! UGH!!! So now we have booked!!! And our dates are 11/23-11/29. I think we have decided to fly, since we had to cut our days a little. Adds to the cost by about $1500, but I think it will make us much less tired than driving 16 hours each way.

I will have to update my ADRs, I've already been working on changing them all. But I'll wait until they are more definite before I post them. So far I'm finding most of the same things we had before. Whew!

Changed my signature badge too, at least I'm still in the double digits - barely! :cool1:

Best of luck in law school!!

So, even though it only saves us $212 and we actually lose a park day, I think we're making the switch to the military discount instead of FD. We'll have 2 park days, 1 day "off", and then 2 more park days. This way maybe my kids won't get burnt out and we can actually relax a little. And since we're making that switch, we're looking into switching from POP to AoA LM. For some odd reason, all this time I've only paid any attention to AoA having suites and completely overlooked the regular LM rooms! It ends up being $50 total to switch from POP, so if all goes according to plan, by Monday I'll have made my final changes to this trip... Hopefully... hehe

How does the Kroger Disney gift cards work for gas points?? We just got Kroger gas here, so I hope I don't sound like an idiot. Do you buy the gift card, and use it at Disney. Then points get put on your Kroger saving card? Do you have to use the Kroger Disney Gift card to pay for gas??

Put me in this sad club too... Summer is over! I go back to work on Monday for teacher work week, kids come back next Monday! Can't believe ten weeks are gone already! Feels like just yesterday it was June 8th!!!

Good luck to all teachers and students!

Since you want to stay in DHS until closing. Going back to the WL and just signing in at the Whispering Canyon Cafe would probably be the easiest. That way you are on your schedule and not an ADR schedule for your last meal. I can't tell you how many times we have done that at the end of a day with no trouble at all. :goodvibes

Doesn't it feel awesome!! :dance3:Just wait until tomorrow when you are at 99 days!! :woohoo:

Good Morning Everyone!! Happy Friday!! Hope everyone has a wonderful weakend!!:rainbow:

I'm getting super excited too! We made the decision of cancelling V&As and both the le cellier lunch and dinner reservations I had even though I was not able to book Remy's on the ship in favor of doing the Wanyama Safari and then what do you think happened just now? They must have released a bunch more tables because I was able to get into Remy's after all! :cool1: Two amazing experiences I had not even considered, how lucky is that? pixiedust:

The best part is now we don't have to worry about how we are getting to the ship! With everything we wanted in place we can go back to plan A and take the regular DCL transfers instead of trying to drive ourselves or go to MCO and get to the ship that way to have a chance at snagging one of the last tables that they open up for people as they come onboard. I can have my nice relaxing morning at AKL swimming and waiting to be driven in style! :wizard:

Nice to get pixie dust before the trip!pixiedust: Sounds like a great vacation ahead. We've never done a cruise but are contemplating it for next year. Have fun!:goodvibes

I am going to have to say goodbye for a while! :( I start Law School on Monday and probably will not have time to keep up with every one! See you all in the happiest place on Earth in November!!

I would go to Cape May which is in the Beach Club resort. We love it there!::yes::

I think teachers are unsung heroes with one of the most important jobs on the planet. May your school year go well and your kids all be angels!;)

I think that's a smart move! $212 is nothing to sneeze at, IMO! I would love to stay at AoA and I think you'll love it! :woohoo:

We'll miss you as well. As I said above, I think all teachers are heroes and have the most important job there is.:teacher: Thank you for your dedication and hard work! I hope this will be your best year ever!:yay:

Good Morning everyone!!

We too are under 100 days as well and it feels awesome!! I can't wait till I can finally say, "leaving in the morning for Disney"!! I have been waiting for that for I can't tell you how long. Still lots more days but now that summer is winding down hopefully it will go by quicker.

So I drive to see my patient at the doctor's office yesterday 2 1/2hrs away!!! only to be told when I arrive that they cancelled the appt. 5 minutes ago as dr is still in surgery.....I was SOOOOO MAD!!!! I know driving is part of the job but come one! I had to drop Rachel off 3 hrs early for work at the beach because Sarah and DH went to Balto for day and I get there to find this out. I was so NOT Happy!!But on bright side, less real work to do I suppose. Today I have a teleconferance with my boss and another patient to see at 145pm but this time in Salisbury not as far away, thank goodness. This job is frustrating sometimes I tell you.

Rachel and I are going school shopping on Monday because she is working all weekend as the Dew Tour is in Ocean City MD and she works on 82nd street at a sub and pizza place- they have everyone working all weekend!! Its great for her because she will earn lots of money.

Well hope you all have a great day. I can't wait till Monday and to make our ADR with BOG!!

So I am switching my schedule around to drop MM in favor of BOG(on our arrival night. I have moved T-Rex from our arrival night to Fi nov 30th, moved 50's from nov 30th to nov 26th where we currently have MM...which will ultimately get booted if we get BOG. The only thing that worries me about that is the line to get into F!
