Has anyone had trouble getting a seat for lunch at Via Napoli w/out an ADR? I was originally planning a to just grab something quick at a CS restaurant but thought my DH would LOVE  to try this place. I don't really want to make an ADR and have to rush to get there just thought if we were close we could stop in for lunch. Also how much time would we be spending here for lunch? (guess)...

TIA

hey ladies!! Yes, the sun is shining here and it's a beautiful day--for which we are very thankful!! By the time school gets out down here it'll be hot and headed toward MISERABLE!! Hope we don't have as hot of a summer as last year-don't think I can take it! And for some reason this year we have a crazy mosquito phenomenon...they are hatching as big as birds!:rotfl: Really, it's some crazy river hatching thing and they are huge....we have already had news reports about this weird kind, and yes, they do hurt!!
totally:offtopic: here, but what kind of GOOD camera do y'all use? I am ready to move up to a dSLR and have been researching--seems like the more reviews I read, the farther behind I get! people are firmly in the Nikon or Canon camp,...I am looking at these for better photos, faster time for action shots, or just catching the kids in motion, and of course our Disney vacas!!! I went to Best buy yesterday and peeked at a few of both brands...liked them both, but wanted to know if y'all had an opinion---i want to get one here pretty soon. 2 of my kids have bdays coming up and I want to use it for that, my older son is playing baseball, and I want to have time to practice before our summer vacation comes. I have looked at the Canon 60D as the high end for that one, or the T3i, and the Nikon 3100 and maybe the 7000?

Send some of that sunshine to the Pacific Northwest please! Oregon's spring is MIA!

We went through the same camera dilemma as you very recently and ended up paying the extra for the Canon 60D after a coworker convinced me we would be kicking ourselves for getting the T3i if we were interested in capturing fast moving critters when we go to Alaska next year as the 60D handles motion better. He also found a way to hack it that he could show us using a program called Magic Lantern which will allow us to use cheaper lenses with more high end results. My husband has been thrilled with this camera since we got it a month ago, but we do not have experience with the others...

I'd love to try AoA, too, but it won't be this trip. I already have my rooms booked at All Star Sports with a 35% off pin. The only way I'll change that is if free dining is offered since we really liked the QSDP the last time we were there.

My daughter & I are already planning lunch at Be Our Guest if it is open since it will be counter service by day. Our only table service meal will be at Rain Forest at AK since the kids love that place; plus, we eat there free with gift cards I've earned on MyPoints.

I'd love to try AoA also, but I think I'll wait til our next trip. I really want FD, and doubt it will be offered at AoA this year.

I can't wait to eat at BOG either! :lovestruc

Just FYI.... most rides have next to no wait on a party night. Even on a SOLD OUT party night. Most people are there for the party-specific things.

We went on a Friday night in 2010 and our lines were as long as they were during the day. I think it was all the locals (no offense). When we parked our vehicle, we were surrounded by FL license plates. This year we are hoping to go on a Tuesday or Wednesday. :goodvibes

We'll be there Dec 2012!:) Plus 2 grandkids:wizard:

Welcome! :cheer2:

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

I hope the sun is shining on your side of the monitor. It isn't here.

Good morning! It's a beautiful day here... on it's way to 85*!

YAY!!! My ticker FINALLY says 7 months!

:cool1: :cool1: Awesome!

OH. MY. GOODNESS!!
Mine does too!! where have we been? :rotfl2:

:cool1: :cool1: Woohooo!

You can modify your existing reservation to change the length, no problem! Also, the ADR system is totally separate. Even if you cancelled your reservation entirely, your ADR's will still be intact.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I think it would be easier to walk up at lunch than for dinner. We were in and out in 90 minutes, but we took our time, and ordered cocktails, apps, entrees, and dessert. ENJOY!! :goodvibes

We are having a mosquito issue here too. It didn't get cold enough during the winter to kill them. It's going to be a long, rough summer.

DH has 2 Nikons and I have 1. I'll have to check and see what exactly they are when I get home. We love them all. DH bought both of his, and all his lenses on craigslist and ebay. He ordered mine off adorama.com (I think, that's it.)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Okay I did it. I just booked our package! 11/24-12/1 @ POFQ
Really hoping for free dining and being able to stay at POFQ, but I realize that I might not be able to. If we don't get free dining for some reason I might switch to a preferred room at POP and pay for dining OP. The trip is just for me and DD9, so dining won't cost much. VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! This is our first time booking POFQ, so I am very excited about that! Now the count down to making ADRs (5/28/12). Oh wait a minute isn't that Memorial Day - will the lines be open or can I do online. When she gave me the ADR date she also said that both phone and online start at 7:00 now is that true. I thought online use to be 6:00. I only booked a standard view room, but if anyone has any ideas on requesting a specific room I would love to hear them. COME ON FREE DINING!

So nervous!! 99% convinced DH to stay onsite this time for my 3 day super short 40th birthday celebration 11/5....IF we get a code. 30% off or Free Dining. So now I'll be watching this thread like a hawk!! ;)

Is it smarter to book now and cancel later if we don't get a code (which means we'd be staying off site) or just wait??

We're going at a "slower" time....I'm gambling they'll release SOME KIND of code. :rolleyes1

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes It is such a beautiful morning. And I have Disney butterflies......So you know today is gonna be awesome!! :rotfl::thumbsup2

I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday!! :thumbsup2

If it were me.....I would book the trip now. Then cancel or change anything that needs it in the future. :goodvibes Hang in there....Just my opinion, but I do believe we have something coming. :goodvibes

We are officially booked.:banana::banana: Decided to go with the AAA discount with a Little Mermaid room at AoA. November 13- 15 and then a 3 night cruise on the Dream. Hurry up November. :cool1:

If I go Canon, this is the one I *think* I have it narrowed down to,.if I go Nikon, it'll be the one comparable to it. What lens did you buy? the one I am looking at I can't remember for the life of me,..I think it is the most generic, but all the sites I have looked at say it's really all I need unless I decide to move into more Professional Photo...thanks for the input!!!

Book Now!! Pay your depo and you can start paying a little at a time, then when a discount comes out, they will adjust accordingly. I know for me, it seems more real after I have shelled out some $$$:rotfl:

Ummm...are you HIDING something from us?;) I hope so!!!:yay: As ready as i am to see a discount, I am sooooo super busy right now, that I can't quite get into full planning mode!!! I need a few dead days to do park day research, decide on what and where and plan what ADRs I want!!! Of course, the last 2 trips have been the same week of the year, and the only place I couldn't get into last minute, was the California Grill and the Castle, of course. I can always plan those first and schedule around it... I can always just look at last years schedule and just make a total repeat! LOL!!

Hi everyone, I'm joining in on the fun! Just got back from a 3 night stay at CBR followed by a 4 night cruise on the Dream...and now I'm dreaming of another Disney vacation!

My dd has 3 days off from school the first week in November so I'm thinking of a Mommy/daughter trip, staying at AOA!

I'd love to see some holiday decorations, still too early for that?

Well, I just go back from the doctor. I have sinus infection, ear infection, and a low grade fever. Ugh... oh well, at least I get a little Disney time. I'm going to work on a few things for the kids. :)

Well, I am now over 50% paid off for the trip, LOL. My goal is to be at 67% paid off by the time I get to do ADRs in early May, and then knock out the rest over the summer.

Edit:

Question for the fliers out there. What would you do in this situation

My father who lives a couple of towns over always drives us to and from the airport so we do not have to worry about car parking, etc. We have 3 airports to choose from: National, Dulles, and BWI (Baltimore). The first 2 if we fly either JetBlue or Southwest.

Dulles is the best airport of the three, and National is the worst, however, more direct flights to Orlando come out of National. When I experiment with flights during say August or Sept, there are no directs yet (they stop in June) from Dulles but plenty from National. My father said he has no problem getting us to and from either airport, but I guess my question is "Since it seems like I get a better shot at direct flights from National, should I book when available, or wait and hope that either airline offers direct flights out of Dulles?"

Here to whine about codes and pins for November. This trip was planned, we received a 10% off resorts and I called and ended up booking for Nov 11- 15 at POR. Now, we've had some financial changes and are trying to decide if we can still do this trip. I did feel like we had a good price. We've been twice with our DDs (6) but never by ourselves as just our family of 4, so this is important to both my DH and I.
I added the dining plan to our reservation...but now I just don't know what to do! I know it's not the end of the world if we just wait and go with the entire family in 2013 but for some reason I just want THIS trip. Do you all think they will offer free dining for November? If they do, then I would come out ahead of the 10% off room, correct? Thanks for listening to me complain.

I don't have an answer to your question about flying but wanted to say Hello....those are usually the 2 of the 3 airports I fly out if also...if I was leaving my vehicle at the airport, I'd probably wait for Dulles...if someone was taking me I'd book now and go out of National.

I saw flights on JetBlue around $350 round trip for my dd and me....thinking about getting them, not sure if anything cheaper maybe available later.

Well, I am now over 50% paid off for the

yankeesmom21...Do you happen to have a AAA membership? If so, and if you only booked a room only discount, my AAA discount for my upcoming November stay (Nov. 20-27th) saved me $500. It is not much, but I will take any savings I can get. I, too, am hoping for a bigger discount, but since my travel dates are during Thanksgiving week, I am not getting my hopes up on that. If you do not have a AAA membership, it may be worth purchasing (mine was only $50 a year) just for the discount. If you do this, do not book through AAA because you will have to pay AAA $25 to book for you and have them call and apply any additional discounts if they become available. Additionally, my quote from AAA mentioned a $200 surcharge for any changes to my reservation, which is why I booked directly through Disney and not through AAA.

Well bless your heart!! I hate when I get that junk! And low grade fever makes you feel just awful!! hopefully you got some good meds and can rest a little!!

I fly alot - mostly for pleasure :goodvibes I would suggest that you book the direct flight from National and be done with it. You never know when flight prices will change. If you can find a good rate now, I would book. We have no clue how much flights will go up at any given time. Also, at this point in time flights probably will not appear. It would be luck that the airline decides to make a chance and suddenly have a new non stop flight from Dulles. I know the DC airports well and I've never had any issues with National so I can only say good things! There is also something about just getting on a plane once and getting off at the intended location that''s always worth it for me. Especially when that place is Disney! :thumbsup2

Sorry I have been MIA...I have been sick. Really sick. Let me take you off the track of disney planning for a sec...sorry but I need support. Many of u long time group members might remember my battle with a very painful UTI with bladder inflammation? Well I must have done 5 UA and all came back negative for bacteria-fine treated with antibiotics and moved forward, 2 weeks ago I had another bad UTI(with bladder tenderness and inflammation)-went to see PCP did another UA and same thing came back clean. In the meantime, I have figured out I cant drink soda at all, cant have chocolate and cant drink tea or lemonade. So I have been doing research and found what I might have. I am bringing it up at the drs tomorrow. he said one more negative UA before he can refer me to a Urologist. I have read so much on this disease its not funny. Its called Interstitial Cystitis and one of the main symptoms(along with all the other symptoms-which I have ALL of them) is negative UA, but UTI symptoms. I have found a diet to follow that elliminates all trigger foods BUT problem is its EVERYTHING. For example: NO hotdogs, ketchup, tomato sauce, pickles, seasoned potato chips, chinese food, MSG,artificial colors, artificial flavors, strawberries, soda of any kind, carbonation, powdered drinks, iced tea, lemonade, energy drinks, vitamin pills, bananas, ice cream(except vanilla) Thats all I can remember from the top of my head. It effects my bladder. Besides that and the going oh so often, I dont wanna ruin my familes trip:( I have been so upset I cried to my mom last night about having to stop every 10 or 15 min last time we were there because I didnt want to be in a line for a ride and have to go. I didnt know at the time which foods effected me or that I was sick all I thought is I still had this UTI. She said no one will judge u or get mad. I just pray this IS what I have only because I need an answer. I dont wish I had this. There is NO cure only through diet/exercise and meds for sleeping/pain will I be able to control it.
