Okay I know this is probably being beat to death but I just can't go through 145 pages so forgive me...we are looking to do November to see Christmas theme since we have done Halloween twice but unless some kind of discount comes our way I don't think it is going to happen. We are from Canada so flight is really only option and of course that adds.

So when historically and no one may know...but when does an announcement come and what does everyone think the chances of seeing discount or free dining are?

Thanks all pirate:

Also, I should say that I've been following along.

Well, let me be more specific. When the thread first started, I jumped on board and added my November dates and forgot all about this thread! :confused3 My bad.

So by the time I remember I made a post, ya'll were on page 141. That like 3904258239890 posts. :lmao:

So by following along, what I really mean is, I spent about a week straight, reading ever.single.post on all 141 pages.

:surfweb:

Hi. I'm ready to jump in the middle of this conversation now.

:faint: holy cow! :scared1: Thats alot of reading!:surfweb:

Ok, again, let me be more specific... I (maybe) skimmed through most of the multi quotes.

BUT! For the most part, it helped me get through the work day :woohoo:

:lmao: me 2!

I have another ADR question. I know that's not the topic of thise thread but you folks know all that is Disney! Can you make two reserations for the same day, same meal? Say I know know if I'll be in MK or HS on a given day can I make ADR for two places?

No you cant, most of the ressies now require a cc hold and if you dont cancel one business day prior. I have made a ressie under e and then one under DH and then cancelled way before our trip(I was undecided) but I think thats frowned upon :headache:

Hi there! I am hopefully planning a trip for Nov 2012 for my family and possibly my mom. We are planning on "Jersey week" and hoping to get a PIN code :goodvibes

Thanks all pirate:

Well FD historically comes out sometime in late summer around August. Room only- I am not sure ppl are getting PIN's now but a GP code maybe May?

Thanks so much for all of the great information. I'm definitely going to look into the swan or dolphin. We are driving so ME won't be an issue. I would prefer to be able to charge to the room, but that certainly isn't a deal breaker.

I do think you're right about the marketing department being separate. I hear of lots of people who already have a reservation being able to apply a pin. Of course, lots of times this does mean having to change resorts.

That is one amazing schedule!!! I'm not even close to detailed planning yet. I would feel alot better if I could just make a reservation.
Love the Dolphin, both hotels are super nice, comfy beds, great dining options and of course location. To be honest, we didn't charge much back to our room when we stay on site anyhow and we always rent a car too, so you should have a blast at either one.

Thank goodness I'm planning a longer trip. Now that I've got a rough sketch layed out I can't imagine doing in less than 10 days without yearly trips. :lmao:

I've broken my days down to:
Breakfast (many character breakfasts) pirate:
Park
Lunch :3dglasses
Nap :hippie:
Park
Dinner
Fireworks/Parade :yay:

I've got a nap figured into every day but one. My little guy is 4 and still naps a good two hours on most days and is quite happy to stay up late and sleep late. We'll see how this goes. :rotfl: Even though we will miss valuable park time in the afternoons for my sanity he needs some downtime.

I think I need to look into the cost of a delux meal plan or cut out some of those character breakfasts.
sounds great- the nap/break is a life saver for us. We would have some terrible meltdowns if we didn't.

LaDonna & EXWDWCM - Thanks for your thoughts.

DS has nap time every day at day care, but he doesn't usually sleep much, but Disney is a whole different kind of tired.

We are early risers... 6am so we can be out the door by 7:30 and to the park for 8am breakfast ADRs.

I think I'm going to plan for daily breaks. I definitely want to avoid a meltdown. When DD gets tired, she just gets quiet, but when DS gets quiet, well, let's just say Oscar the Grouch has NOTHING on him. If I find we don't need the breaks, great; but I think I need to be prepared for them... even if we just go back to the room and watch TV and rest.

When I priced out our meals, we came out better with the deluxe, but we have some other expensive meals also. ;)

TP has their estimated hours up. I don't think official hours are set to be released until May. :goodvibes
Yep, official hours won't be released til May. Then Disney likes to add more hours sometimes and change things a month or a few weeks out. Usually they won't change EMH or take away hours, but just add hours. I anticipate them maybe adding hours for MK on that weekend- that Sat night or something maybe.

yeah, the break helps us a lot. Otherwise, we would have some big meltdowns. the breaks help us avoid that and we all have a great evening that way! :thumbsup2

My kids are lousy nappers - I don't think they have actually ever taken a nap at Disney during one of our breaks, but we always try to spend some quiet time in the afternoon - either in the room or at the pool or something. I think you have a good plan!

I'm definitely bringing a stroller, though. My youngest is four, and probably won't ride in it much, but I usually have it so loaded up with stuff I can't imagine going without it!
lol- i am bringing our stroller too- my DS will have just turned 5, but that is a LOT of walking, especially at the pace we usually go. This last trip, he got out and walked a lot more, but we like storing all our crap in the stroller too. :)

Also, I should say that I've been following along.

Welcome BACK!!!:thumbsup2

I believe you can book two ADRs, just keep in mind the new process for if you are a no show for certain ones- they will charge your credit card etc. So just keep that in mind. That new policy is in effect now I believe. here is the info:

"Walt DIsney World restaurants will soon begin requiring and enforcing a credit card guarantee for reservations with the goal of reducing last-minute cancellations and no-shows. Under the new policy, making a reservation at select signature and character dining locations throughout Walt Disney World’s hotels and theme parks will require submitting credit card information up front, which will be charged $10 per person if reservations are not cancelled more than 24 hours before the reserved time.

The policy will go into effect on Oct. 26, 2011, and will apply to the following locations and restaurants:

Walt Disney World resort hotel restaurants:
1900 Park Fare
Artist Point
California Grill
Cape May Café
Chef Mickey’s
Cítricos
Flying Fish Café
Jiko – The Cooking Place
Narcoossee’s
‘Ohana
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Victoria & Albert’s ($25 per person fee)

Magic Kingdom:
The Crystal Palace

Epcot:
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
The Garden Grill
Le Cellier Steakhouse

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
The Hollywood Brown Derby
Hollywood & Vine

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
Tusker House Restaurant
The phone number 407-WDW-CNCL is now available to assist with cancellations.

Pre-paid Walt Disney World dining locations already operate under a similar policy, with an even stricter rule. If reservations at dinner show locations are not cancelled in advance of 24 hours before the reserved time, the full dinner price is still charged with no refunds available.

This policy exists at:
Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
Cinderella’s Royal Table
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

Since the launch of Disney’s online dining reservation system in 2009, many guests have complained of their favorite restaurants being completely booked far ahead of their desired dates. The system currently allows reservations to be made up to 6 months in advance, with few restrictions or penalties for multiple bookings or not showing up for the reservation without canceling first.

Under the new system, guests may still book multiple reservations for the restaurants above, but will be charged a fee unless cancelled at least a day before the reservation’s time, potentially opening up day-of tables for those who haven’t planned ahead six months. The potential of being charged $10 per guest may result in some diners thinking twice before booking excessive numbers of reservations, freeing up more times for more patrons."

We are planning on going around the same time, Nov 10-17. We also got 30% off but FD would be better. I think they have blacked out Jersey Week in the past so I am curious how they will do it this year with Veterans Day being on a Sun. I am wondering if they will start it on Nov 11. I can't stand not knowing since we will be making our adr's way before they announce Fd. My dates are a little flexible but by then I will have airfare and all my days planned out :confused3. I am thrilled that we at least have the 30% :woohoo:

Hey Lisa..

Gotta love 30% pins! :cool1: Where you stayin?

I'm curious...just wondering if you live on the East coast and if you planned some vacations on the DisneyWorld web site and then saved them..I've heard that's the best way to get PIN codes emailed to you..

Just wondering...

I live on the East Coast (South Carolina) and have made plans on the website and saved them and I have NOT gotten anything! I really really want that 30% pin!

You can, but like PP stated, each ADR will be held with a credit card. Just a word of warning: I know someone who had two ADRs for the same time at different restaurants, and Disney cancelled both her ADRs. :confused3 Last time we went I had two ADRs for the same time, but once I got my itinerary straight, I cancelled the one I didn't need... that was about 5 months out.

I think Mommyof3 is correct. I think historically FD for Nov is released in August, but last year it was released the at the end of May. Of course, I'm going off my memory so take that with a grain of salt.

I worked on our window decorations yesterday. Today I'm hoping to make a pirate shirt for DD and DS.

Hope everyone has a great day! :goodvibes

Anyone see this?

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2873893

Here is what the thread above is referring to...

Big changes coming to FASTPASS in March
Feb 06, 2012

Some big changes are expected to be implemented at all FASTPASS attractions next month. Starting March 7 2012, it is expected that the FASTPASS return windows will now be actively enforced, with a 5 minute early arrival and 15 minute late arrival to be allowed. Anyone arriving outside of those times will not be allowed entry to the attraction. The new validity windows will be required for the future roll-out of more advanced NextGen FASTPASS systems, which will require much tighter control of FASTPASS entry than what the current system offers.

The current FASTPASS system does not allow early arrivial times, but does allow late arrivals up to the end of the day. Many guests make use of the late arrival tolerance with the current system, so the new enforcement will be a significant impact to those guest's park touring plans.

Not until I started on these boards did I know that you could use your fast pass late. I never even thought about it, honestly.

The pass says I can return between 10:55 and 11:55, so I make sure that I return in that time frame. If my lunch runs late or I'm stuck in line on the other side of the park, well then that's my fault for thinking that I could get from point A to point B with enough time to spare. If I k I guess it never occurred to me to try and go later than the posted time. I feel like the general public should be grateful that such a convenience even exists and shouldn't feel like we're being " shorted" on this. What did we do before fast passes even existed? That's right, we waited. Fast passes are in place as a convenience. period. They are not a "right", :rotfl: that's just a silly mentality to have! We don't pay for them and should feel lucky that they are there for us to abuse, er I mean use.

Just my two cents. :rolleyes1

Hi, I am from New England. I saved my date on the website and then called a couple weeks later to see if I had a pin. They said I had a 30% for the whole year and any level resort . Then a couple weeks after that I got the pin via snail mail and it said it was for the month of Nov. so I definitely think saving it on the site had something to do with it. We are planning on staying at Por by the way. I have never been their but it looks nice.

Happy Mom, I read that this morning. It will definitely affect our touring plans as we usually hold onto fp's to use in the busy afternoons. Will have to come up with a new plan if this does come to pass. I'll be interested to see how it works. I imgaine the cm's will have to deal with lots of unhappy guests at first, but I'm sure we'll all get used to it eventually!

Iv always used them when the time says to...Iv never come back at any othe time. Didnt know you could! Oh well guess Im a 'rule' follower

I'll definitely miss the ability to use late fastpasses. We often collect fastpasses in the morning and then use them in the evening. But we'll adapt...

The only thing that will really change in our park touring is that we won't even try to get a Toy Story Mania fastpass. We usually don't stay in that park long enough to be around for the start of the fastpass window, and would only be able to use it by coming back later in the evening! So we'll head straight to the ride and ride it once, or we'll wait until right before park closing.

I never even knew until recently that you could even use them later! I always just tossed them if I didn't make it in time
