Ya'll have been chatty since I was here last. :goodvibes

I just got a confirmation email that my PassPorter filler pack is shipping today!! I have had the binder for about 5 or 6 years now and it still looks brand new. :thumbsup2 The Passporter and the Unofficial Guide are my favorites. So between these and my own binder.....I still don't have it all covered. :rotfl2: There are so many tips and little secrets that is shared on the Dis all the time. I always feel like I am missing some little something or other. :rotfl:

Smileybug, thanks for the response. I just read about Jersey week and started to think it would be too busy. We are only doing 5 days in the parks without hoppers, so I want them to be nice. We are flexible about our dates and I am worried about picking the wrong time frame. We are a family of 7. Last time we went in May 08 and I just booked without knowing about discounts or anything. It was a short trip, only 4 days with 3 in the parks.
We totally skipped AK. I want to plan better this time. I appreciate any help I can get. TIA!

It is official! We are booked for POFQ for November 30-December 7th. We have requested 1st floor for DH's ECV. Otherwise, I really don't care where we are, what building we are assigned, etc. We are going!!!

Now, do I belong in this November thread, or a December thread :confused3

Somethings I just don't trust to a computer. I want to talk to a person and be able to double check the info as I'm writing it down. I won't book the trip on line either. I guess I'm old fashion that way. :goodvibes I do believe in technology. I just don't always trust it. And I don't want to be completely dependent on it. You didn't ask for all of that did you? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Funny - I don't trust the computer more! :rotfl2: I understand about not wanting to be dependent on technology, and for that reason, I refuse to do some things electronically. I'm strange, I know. :rotfl:

We are going Nov. 16-21. Surprising the kids, they don't know it yet. Picking them up early from school and heading down from GA. I can't wait.:yay:

Welcome! We are surprising our kids also. They know we are going... eventually. DD thinks we are going til the end of next year - that's just a date she picked out. She did mention last night that if we surprised her and told her we were leaving for Disney today, she would scream so loud Mickey would hear her! Guess I'll need to put in some ear plugs when we reveal the surprise!

So my ADR's:
Sunday-whispering canyon
monday-tusker house breakfast and t-rex dinner
tuesday-be our guest OR 1900 park fare
wednesday-50's primetime cafe
thursday-cape may cafe clam bke dinner
friday-crystal palace
saturday-garden grill
sunday-chef mickeys breakfast?

Makes me hungry just thinking about it! We were not impressed with Chef Mickey's dinner. Do you know if breakfast is any better? :confused3

still can't make up my mind how long/when I want to get there......

Do like me... plan for both, then choose later! ;) Yes, I'm just that insane! :rotfl:

We are planning to go in Nov. also. I thought about the 7-13th, but starting to question my dates now.

Welcome! I think we all question our dates at some point. That weekend will be a very busy weekend, but I think it will be a good week overall. ;)

Hi all! After 5ish years of reading the DIS, I have finally decided to post. Currently we are planning our first Christmastime visit to WDW. We have reservations for the week after Thanksgiving (November 24-December 1) at POR. We are semi-flexible with our dates though and could change them based on any discounts that come available. We are really hoping for free dining. I have read that the crowds are ok the week after Thanksgiving, but how are they in particular the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend as that would be our first park day?

Welcome! :goodvibes Glad you decided to join us! This is a great group! Don't be shy about posting. We went to DTD the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It wasn't too bad. Most of the people who go for Thanksgiving week are heading home by Sunday afternoon.

I just pre-ordered the 2012 re-fill package for my PassPorter binder!! I will be getting the 2012 Unofficial Guide to Disney tomorrow. I love getting these travel books. Makes the trip feel closer. :cloud9:

Me too! I just got my tablet this week, and I'm trying to decide which e-books I want to purchase! So. Many. Choices. :rolleyes1

Hi November peeps! I received a PIN code via email last night that is actually for November 2012 dates.

That is awesome! I hope it's a sign of things to come. :cool1:

Can you tell me what information the PassPorter has that the Unofficial Guide doesn't? I have the UG from 2010 and can't decide if I want to get the 2012 or not.

You're in the right place to plan! :dance3:

Thanks for all the well wishes! to all! I'm going to get my behind in gear and do some planning today. I keep saying that, but haven't had the time to do anything. Yesterday was DS's birthday, and I think I over did it. Today, I'm just laying low. I slept til 10am! That hasn't happened since ... well, before I had kids! :rotfl:

All the talk about PassPorters and UG has me wondering... what planning books/travel guides does everyone have. I have the UG 2010, Disney World with Kids Guide, UG Color Guide, and the Dark Side of Disney (it was much "darker" than I expected - not for the easily offended, and not to be left out for the kids to see).

Believe me WE all understand. There is just something about a Disney trip that makes you want it to be as perfect as possible. So please ask us all the questions you can think of. Someone is going to be able to answer it or at least get you going in the right direction. :goodvibes

You are not strange at all. At least not in my book. :goodvibes:thumbsup2

You can get some pretty pink ones back in the gun dept. at walmart. :rotfl:They cost a whole $1.98

This is another place that I am funny about. I want my Disney books in person. I like to underline and hi-light. :rotfl:I do love my Nook color though. :thumbsup2

They are just done by different people. So different approaches to everything. The regular PassPorter is a spiral bound book that makes it easier to get into and it has pockets and it allows the reader to do a little customizing. Or you can get the binder one that is just a little nicer. Both have pros and cons.

Taking care of yourself is a very good thing. :goodvibes

I have at one time or another bought just about everything there is on Disney. Except the Dark Side. Ya'll might like Mouse Junkies. It was written by one of our own Disers. There was a book out in 2007 call EZ Walt Disney World. (I think:laughing:) It was spiral bound and just a very easy layout with WONDERFUL maps. But I haven't found it since then. And you just have to have a book on hidden Mickies. There are also some really good trivia books. The imagineering field guides are interesting as well. I don't buy the dining books anymore. The list just goes on and on. :rotfl:

yeah you can get into some big trouble on Amazon if you search Disney! I have so many books at home, from Disney Art, Animation, Travel and beyond, I am not sure I have room for much more! I have never purchased the HM one though and finally might this year since I think my son is old enough now to help spot them.

I have mousejunkies on my list to read too!

I love looking for Hidden Mickies. I"ll give you a warning though......You start to see them everywhere in your every day life. :rotfl2:

Mousejunkies is just really cute. There are 2 out now. Just go to his website. mousejunkies.com for more info.

Thank you ThreeAngels and Happy Mom2 for the welcomes. :goodvibes

Christmas is just magical. WE've done two early December trips and loved it. The decor is amazing (although they've done less each year it seems). We love all the trees. MVMCP is fun, snow on main street is amazing! The Osborne Lights are not to be missed. We loved the Candlelight Processional too. I have some Dec trip reports in my signature block below if you want to see pics or read.

Thanks! I'm going to read them now. There isn't much better (if I can't be there myself) than living vicariously through someone else. :)

I've got our whole itinerary planned out down to what ADRs we want based on the 2011 calendar. It could all change of course, but it is fun to plan. My DH could care less where we eat 10 months from now. :lmao:

I just in my infinite wisdom realized the trip I booked yesterday overlaps a regularly scheduled meeting for work :sad2: so I had to call AAA to switch up our dates. We are now going 2 days earlier which makes 2 weekends instead of 1, so I figured the price would go way up.

Welp, Disney still honored our pin code and stacked it on our regular AAA discount but they couldn't give us a free upgrade to a gardenview room at POFQ as they had done for the 1st set of dates. So they offered us free gardenview upgrade for $90 more over the first price at POR or upgrade to King Bed at POFQ for $150 over our original price, which was almost $700 under disney online booking rate for a gardenview at POFQ to begin with. I took the King for the $130 so we could stay at POFQ. I figured just adding on the weekend would be at least that much, so it all worked out.
POFQ here we come Nov 2, 2012 not Nov 4, 2012!

I'm thinking of getting a Hidden Mickey book for DD as part of our surprise. She still points out HMs everywhere we go. She'd love that! I'll have to check out Mouse Junkies!

DD and DS love my UG The Color Companion to WDW. The information is the same as UG, but it has great color pictures of all the attractions, parks, resorts, etc. DD and DS will sit and look through it together talking about the rides they went on, and the ones they want to go on next trip...so cute! I love that everything is still so magical for them.

I kind of want to work on a 'gift basket' type thing I think lol I am not sure yet. I might have DM and DDad take it to FL OR give it to them before we leave....im not sure yet. I wanna surprise them though I do know that

Oh boy, just did a search on Amazon :). I have Amazon gift cards saved up from Swagbucks, and their is so much I want! T shirts for DD's, books for me, even a cool watch. I'm in trouble!

Last time we went I made them each tote bags with a Dis-design on the front and filled them with lots of Disney stuff. They knew we were going, but the bags were surprises. I'm going to make them each backpacks this year. I'm sure DD will love the book.

Trouble = so much fun!!! :woohoo:

So I was talking to mom yesterday and she really wants to eat at Sci-Fi DIne In theater now. I dont mind I do like it....but where to fit it in? Does anyone else ever use the DDP and Pay OOP for other meals? And I still wanna fit in Chef Mickeys somewhere! If I can lol but I think my schedule is pretty full now and I HAVE to remeber we are on vacation!!

Here is what I have now:

Sunday: Whispering Canyon Cafe (poppop really like BBQ and its his 75th bday :goodvibes:
Monday: Tusker House for breakfastI wanted T-Rex for dinner but it may be too loud for the little ones? idk they will be 3 and 4 or CM here instead of T-Rex
Tuesday:1900 Park Fare before MVMCP
Wednesday:Sci-Fi for lunch OOP and 50's for dinner OOP
Thursday:Cape May Cafe
Friday:Crystal Palace
Saturday: Garden Grill
Sunday:we could put CM here for breakfast before we leave

I just gor the ok from DH  to start looking at prices/deals/plans for our next trip. We are thinking November 12-19th. :cool1:

We have had free dining on the last several trips. But we still pay oop for meals. For that reason I am thinking that we may upgrade to DDP even if we get free dining this time.
