When do discounts for November usually start? I am paying off our vacation a week at a time and I am hoping for either a discount or free dining. I booked directly through Disney and know that the CM's will not offer any discounts and that I have to ask. The CM I spoke to said it was very early. We originally had the YC with DDP but decided to change to POFQ with Magic Your Way with Regular Dining because of the cost ($7500 compared to $3500). We are very excited because this will be our first time staying on site. Although it is over a year away, I keep reading restaurant reviews so will be make our ADR's in May.

I am hoping for FreeDining for POR, otherwise we'll probably have to stay offsite, there are 5 of us, 4 being adult prices, last time we did QS dining plan while staying at ALlstars(lil one was under 3) and we really really really missed the sit down meals

We are going the week of Thanksgiving this will be our first Disney vacation.

Welcome!!

I will be back in the world Nov 24th - dec. 1st 2012

Welcome!!

Morning ya'll. :goodvibes

Long time no see! How ya been?

When we went last year, FD came out in August. It seems they been offering discounts earlier (that could just be my imagination though) so I have no idea when to expect them.

So we have some major changes... but I'll have to check back later to update everyone! Gotta get supper going.

I've been lurking on here for a couple of weeks but I guess I'll finally post! We are looking at going sometime in November before Thanksgiving but the dates are up in the air until we see what type of discounts will be out. I don't like the idea of taking my kids out of school so this will be our last trip in the off season since DD1 will start Kindergarten in Fall 2013. (DS is homeschooled.) We are hoping for free dining since it will be DH, me and my mom, DS, DD1 and DD2 (7, 5 and 2 1/2 age at trip time). We are planning on either the All Stars Music Family Suite or the new Art of Animation. This will be my mom's first and possibly only real trip, she's only been to Magic Kingdom for part of a day when we were in Orlando for a school thing years ago. She works for an accounting firm so she can't ever go between January 1-May 1 so we are going in the fall. She's gets a free trip and we get a very expensive helper! Hoping to go late enough to catch the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast areas open. Just wanted to say hi!

UH OH! :scared1: Hope everything is okay. popcorn::

We are going in November as it stands right now. We are just trying to figure out which week we are doing. Our plans are either 11/7-11/13(or 14) OR we are going to try for 11/13-11/19 so we can see more of the Christmas stuff

Good news and bad news...

The bad news is, my brother in law chose the EXACT week we were going to Disney to get married. I still stand by the notion that my husband, who doesn't want to go to Disney, was being passive aggressive and somehow encouraged him to choose that week, though he claims not. :rotfl2:

But if that was his intention, it backfired, 'cause here comes the good news...

WE BUMPED IT UP TO APRIL 2012! Heehee.

Of course this means that I have to get shakin' on the details... :)

Can someone help me? We'd like to go in November as well, however I hear that November is tricky wtih free dining or other discounts?

We want to go in the beginning of November as I hear crowds are lower, weather warmer, and we would like to have some pool days.

Anyway, what week would be our best hopes of getting a discount? I was thinking 10-11 but others say no.

Yay for your brother getting married, sorry to hear that you wont be joining us in November but yay for going in April!

I am staying the 10th-17th. Jersey week is the 4th-9th next year(usually the 2nd full week) FD is hit or miss. I say go that week! It will be wonderful!!! and BTW :welcome:

I had a wonderful idea! I bought my DD new disney princess dresses off of ebay and giving them to them for Christmas and thats how Im telling them about Disney!

Veterans Day is that Monday, November 11th and I think that would ruin FD for the 10th. So now I am at a loss! I'm thinking maybe I am better off just going the same week we went last week!

That's an awesome idea. :thumbsup2

Lots of planning happening. I think thats great. Right now we are booked into POFQ. But I am seriously thinking about going ahead and moving us to the WL. I feel like my head is spinning. The WL is where we always stay. It is our Disney home. But the POFQ is over a $1000.00 less. That is alot of money. I feel like my heart and my head are doing battle. :rotfl:

My DH just said the most beautiful words to me. He was looking at a photographer's website that he likes, and came across some Disney pics. He mentioned he'd like to try to take some pictures like them, and I said, "I'm sure you'll have more opportunities than you want", meaning we will go back to Disney more times than he wants to. ;) He laughed. I asked him if he wanted me to plan a day for him to go off by himself and just take pictures, but he declined. Instead, he said, "We can go as many times as you want, but when the kids are grown, I want to go by ourselves for a week or two so I can take all the pictures I want." :scared1: WHAT?!? I asked if he realized what he said, and he said yes. Then I asked if he meant it, and he said yes. WOOHOOOOO!!!! :cool1: :yay:

Glad you came out of hiding!! We are crossing our fingers for the new parts of Fantasy Land to be open too!

Have you looked at the FD discounts offered for last year and this year. Somewhere there is a historical calendar showing all the previous discounts. That might help. Maybe try googling it. :confused3

 Love that idea! I'm sure your DD will love it!!

I'm torn too... POP or Poly. :rotfl: Seriously, I hate to spend so much money (even if it isn't mine) to stay somewhere so expensive when all we do there is shower and sleep. :confused3 Good luck with your decision.

Anyone planning on going November 24, 2012-Dec. 1?

What are our chances of FD???

Last year we were there from the Sunday following Thanksgiving through the following weekend, and we had free dining. I'm waiting to see when they offer free dining to see when we will check in. I may do a split stay to get the free dining, but I'd rather not do that unless I have do.

_______________

So my news . . . Last year we had invited both our families to go with us to Disney, but DMIL is the only one who went with us. When we originally decided to go back to Disney next year, it was just going to be DH, DD, DS and me. Then we decided to invite my parents. They have never been, and they are getting older. If they don't go now, they probably never will. They declined. :sad2: I think my mom is intimidated by Disney, even though I would be doing all the planning. So, we decided to invite my DMIL again. She gladly accepted, and even offered to pay to upgrade from the POP to any deluxe resort. :worship: We decided on the Poly, but I haven't changed our ressies. Well, yesterday I was with my parents, and a friend of theirs was telling my dad that she just got back from Disney with her family. Long story short, my dad said he would talk to my mom about flying out to meet us when we go to Disney (we drive) next year. If they come, we'll definitely stay at the POP. There is no way my parents would pay to stay at the Poly. Don't get me wrong. It is my dream to stay at the Poly, but I really don't care where we are as long as it's at Disney. My family is very easy to please, and I love planning so that wouldn't bother me. My MIL would probably fly out with them so she could help them find their way around the airports. There are no negatives to my parents coming. I just want them to make up their minds!!! Yes, I realize it's a year away, and I'm probably be a bit dramatic  but I like to plan!! Guess I'll make a plan C. Plan A is if we stay at the Poly. Plan B is if we stay at the POP and my parents don't go. Plan C is if they do go. LOL! My MIL thinks I should start a business planning people's Disney vacations! :lmao:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm off to watch the rest of the Saints game. LSU won again, and it's looking good for the Saints! :cheer2:

Awesome! My DH and I are looking forward to going again just the two of us one day, but we'll take as many times with the kids as we can, too! I love being at Disney with my 4 most favorite people in the world.
