Ok I have a question.... last year we stayed at the Poly CL and it was wonderful! I loved the resort, the food-everything! Next year when we go, we will be staying at POR. I am a little scared because with CL, we had breakfast, drinks and treats at night for the kids all taken care of. Do you think that staying at POR will be ok and maybe we can order the grocery items for breakfast from Garden Grocer? I know we cant afford Poly and last year we had a 40% code( and it was our 10th ann. so even more special). I want to make this trip so special for the girls w/o going broke.

I honestly think you can make it work wherever you stay. You are having to make changes as well. But each trip is a new adventure. :goodvibes With that being said. Have you by chance priced things out for the different DVC's? You might be pleasantly surprised by Sartoga Springs, Old Key West and the WL. Maybe something will fit your price range. That would give you the kitchen and more room to spread out.

I've never used the Garden Grocer so I don know wanything about them other than what I have read here. We drive in. We are only 6/7 hours away.

Would a discount or free dining make you change your resort of choice?

I know.......so much to consider. :rotfl:

You know, the WL I'm sure is going to be less expensive than the Poly. Have you priced that out?

The WL is wonderful at Christmas. That is our resort of choice. :thumbsup2 And I'm hoping to get back in there next year. Just can't do it this close to Christmas with this short trip.

So we broke the news to the kids that we won't be going next summer, rather over Thanksgiving week. I expected them to be upset because they really really want to get back to Disney and telling them we were pushing it back was going to bum them out but they took it pretty well. Of course it helped really pushing the Christmas decorations and cooler weather. My DD is now insisting we have to do the Christmas party, what dates does that usually run? Not sure if we will be there for it.

Your daughter is right! Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is something else! We've been twice and are looking forward to another one in 2012. The atmosphere is more magical at MVMCP. Love the special Christmas parade and shows. And our favourite part was being able to meet so many different characters that do not usually appear in the parks. They were everywhere! They usually have about 4 parties a week, if i'm not mistaken. And they do start before Thanksgiving. So, I'm sure you and your family will not miss it.

You guys will definitely enjoy WDW during the holidays. :santa: Good decision!

I might have to do that! The AKL is cheap too. and I like the rooms there. have to look at WL though.

This is the first year we are doing it. Next year we are going with all 17 ppl...I think the parties are a must do when you are at Disney :goodvibes

I hope everyone has an awesome time. :thumbsup2 Just tell the kids not to stick their tongues out to catch the snow on Main Street. :rotfl:

:eek::rotfl2:

I know first hand....Because I did it. :eek::lmao:

OMGosh!!! :lmao: Sorry probably NOT funny

On another note, I did finish my planners but before I post them, I want to fingure out the park schedule and I need to find pages that I can print to hold all the info so I want to look over in the DISigns board for ideas. Here is what I have so far though bare with me but I will take any criticism. This is for the November 2012 trip

So far we are going to 8 days plan to arrive on Sat. There is talk that if FD is offered we will cut down on a day which I dont really want to do. That being said we cant book our flights or anything til we figure out if FD is offered. Anyway on Monday of that week my grandparents are coming in(live in Ft. Myers FL. so on arrival day, it will be my family(5) and my brother, my friend and her family (5) and mom and dad are driving down from Maryland but will be there on the Sat.

Sat(10th)-arrival day check in get situated and maybe do DTD at night or DQ?
Dinner: Chef Mickeys or Boatwright's
Sun(11th)-Animal Kingdom, swim in POR pool
Dinner: Boma
Monday(12th)-Epcot,grandmom arrives and meets us in Epcot
Dinner: Princess Dinner at Akershus DIning Hall
Tuesday(13th)- Magic Kingdom
Dinner; Crystal Palace
Wednesday(14th) Disney Hollywood Studios DQ at night or resort for younger
kids
Dinner: Prime time cafe
Thursday(15th)-grandmom leaves we do a water park(whichever one is
open Maybe MVMCP
Dinner: 1900 park fare
Friday(16th)- TBD(probably magic kingdom) maybe MVMCP
Dinner: Not sure yet-Maybe Chef Mickeys?
Saturday(17th)-pack up, check out and head to DTD? not sure on this one
either

If anyone can reccomend a different schedule or places to eat please share. The Chef Mickeys is a must do and I did it on the first night before and it really set the stage for the trip!

Sounding good so far. :goodvibes I do have a question for you though. Will ya'll be spending all day in AK? If you are and you do not want to spend time running around. Hubby and I have really enjoyed eating at Tusker House. Will be eating there again this trip. :thumbsup2 But just a thought.

Sounds good! If you do CM on your first night, you could try Ohana or 1900 PF on the 16th if you are at MK.

YAY! I did a Tusker House search and starting Dec 04, TH will be doing Donald's Safari lunch!

Thats a tough one. You could give each park one day for sure. Then go back and fill in from there. At least, once again.....that is what I do. The only park that doesn't hold our attention for to long is DHS. This is where park hopper tickets come in. And hubby and I do use them. You get those 4 keys days in......Then you hop. :thumbsup2

Right now it looks like I am going for the first week in Nov. I want to catch MNSSHP if possible and the Food & Wine Fest too. So for now we're planning on arrival Nov 1st and hopefully be at the party that night! I say, "we' but DH doesn't remember I am even planning this trip. And his plans were simple: stay at AKL, sleep in, drive Nascar, and golf, lay by the pool, eat good food, and drink margaritas. (and visit the parks if he has to to make Mama happy). After pricing a weeks stay at AKL, Mama Cin is thinking he better be content with only 2 nights and a value resort.
