Dormer Balconies are the standard style, right? 2 years ago, we stayed there and were on the 6th floor and we had to stand really to see the fireworks/castle, though it had enough room for 2 deck chairs, no table. If they are the same, it should be just fine for us.

It looks like my main use for the club level features will be:
1) The additional food to supplement the DP
2) The bathrobes
3) Higher up in the resort
4) Possible character location help from the concierge
5) A back up should I need to change plans mid trip for a different restaurant, etc

I don't believe they are the standard. This is info from WDWKook,
"The highest non-CL floor is the 6th, which does have a woods view. However, some of the 6th floor rooms have dormer balconies which means you have to be standing to look over them. The 6th floor rooms that have the 7th floor above them have the regular balcony railing that you can see through. The 6th floor rooms that extend past the 7th floor (the 7th floor doesn't go around the entire resort) have the dormer balconies. All of the CL 7th floor balconies have dormer balconies. "
However, since you already stayed in a room with a dormer balcony and it was no problem for you then it won't be a problem this time:) I think your list of main uses is a good one. I hope you enjoy your CL experience. I would love to stay CL one day. I originally booked CL at Poly but couldn't justify the extra thousand to DH so we downgraded, but if we were in your shoes where there wasn't much price difference we would go for it for sure.

Good Morning everyone! So as of 6:45am EST today the November 2012 park hours are not up on the travel agent's website. Maybe they will be later today. Another site I read said they should be out by the 20th so maybe today is not the day:confused3

The dining plan can only be added as part of a package. Meaning, you have to book your room and park tickets together in order to add dining. It's not sold separately.

As far as your question about whether or not the dining plan (or DDP) is worth it. The answer is - YES!

I think the only way it is sold separately is through DVC. If you rent points or own, you can add the DP to your reservation while having separate park tickets. Last time we rented, we had the DDP and purchased our park tickets from undercovertourist.

It is 7:30 & they aren't up yet! GRRRRR - maybe 8am? :upsidedow

I saw the park hours for the first 6 days of november :( I need ALL of November! NEVERMIND. I actually clicked on Nov 6th and it said all of the refurbishments

Off the top of your head, does anyone know how much it is to upgrade free quick service dining to regular dining? It would be for 2 adults. I was thinking $20/day. Does that sound right???? Usually I would search for the answer but the search feature is disabled right now!

I don't actually HAVE free dining...I'm just being cautiously optimistic.

NO Hours yet on the TA site. Just checked. So weird to actually look at it "legally" now as a TA! lol!

We went to Galveston yesterday and it was SO WINDY. We all got a good sandblasting!

This really isn't the best time to go, because this is the time of year a lot of seaweed washes up on the beach. But at other times of year I really enjoy the beaches there and they're only an hour away. I never do more than sit in the waves or put my feet in anyway, and the beaches are sandy so it works for us.

South Padre Island has beautiful sandy beaches and clear water. It's comparable to beaches in Mexico, but without the International travel. I totally love it there!
I love Padre too. I've been a few times, but didn't spend much time at the beach......met DH there back in 1993 on Spring Break. I know, i met my husband on spring break in padre- crazy huh? friend of friend thing. But most of our time was spent um, in the clubs and bars. LOL! That was almost 20 years ago though. :rotfl:

I am ready for serious planning to commence! I've merged both of my planning sheets & am ready for November hours to finalize. I have two planning sheets because of working on different computers at different times...never took the time to update. Ok, bring on the November hours!! :hyper:
Me too- going crazy waiting here!!!!!

What happened was the cast member offered me a pin that might not have been on my account, not valid yet, etc, but the guest services cast members honored the quote and the discount since I had numbers. So basically, I got a 35% discount on the Standard Room Club Level rate which took what would have been a new trip cost of $4486 down to $3332 and that price was only a $57 increase over what I had planned originally without any pin ($3275), so instead of saving money with the pin, we upgraded with the pin

While I might not take full advantage of the concierge service as I like to plan my trips out well in advance, thinking about it, it never hurts to have a back up, plus if they can help locate my "Holy Grail" of characters for pictures, it is worth the increase. The extra food is a plus, and we asked for a North Wing, MK view room, so I hope this helps increase the odds in our favor

Now all I need is HOURS!! LOL
Congrats on the great deal. good idea to write it all down and even better if you ask the CM's name that you are speaking with, so they can trace it back too. So glad you got a great deal!!!!

every time i see your name, i laugh. My husband uses BroncoJohnny as a screen name on some of his message boards (for racing/mustangs). So I saw your screen name and immediately was like what is my hubby doing on here? :confused3:rotfl:

Would you pretty pretty please with lots and lots of pixie dust on top post the hours as soon as their posted?!?!?!

TIA!!!
Nothing yet. Will keep checking throughout the day. I think if they were going to post them today, they would have already done so.

When the hours are released for the month do they stay the same or can they change? More curious about EMH, do they ever change after being released? :confused3

TIA
They can change. Last year we did October, the prior two years, we did early December. When hours were released, they changed all three years. Usually was EMH or additional hours added. They will usually not take away hours, but they might add some on if crowds are looking big (bookings). They might add more Fantasmic showings etc. They are also known to change an EMH or two- switch around nights etc. I also had a case where we booked Crystal Palace breakfast for 8am before the park opened at 9am. This way we could get in early, take some pics, eat and be ready to go at 9am for rides. Well about 3 weeks before, they changed the hours- this was a Saturday- they changed opening from 9am to 8am. So my whole plan of getting in the park early backfired. And instead of being first to Peter Pan or Dumbo, we were eating. So that sucked. So just be aware. Usually the dates I see them add an hour to opening is on a Saturday. so just be careful if you are booking a pre park opening breakfast on a saturday, they could change the opening time on you!

iv been rethinking my dining choices....yes again!!!! I can decide what our last meal will be! I keep thinking it will be Chef Mickey breakfast but then I want Via Napoli! And my dear hubby says now that he enjoyed dinner at Chef Mickeys. i have to see how many places we will have mickey waffles at. we may be switching a few. I am hoping for mark hours to be released.
lol- tough call! Chef Mickey's is fun because of the character interaction and you could always head to the deck to watch WISHES after dinner too. We do love VN too though- treating my parents to dinner there this trip. We've done it the last three trips!

Great thread everyone...Looking for some help...We have been twice before both end of Sept and took in MNSSHP and know we want to experience Christmas and the decor and MVMCP...so we are flexible and would like the least crowded of the month and can also go into Dec...I know avoid thanksgiving and I was thinking Nov. 25th for 10 days we come from Canada so we go a little longer to make it worth while...

Thoughts would be great from you experienced disers also if FD is announced that will determine times to go...thanks in advance

Sorry any help?
Christmas decor goes up right after Thanksgiving in the parks, with the exception of the tree at Magic Kingdom. I believe that tree goes up the weekend of the filming of the Christmas parade (first weekend of Dec usually). The resorts decor usually goes up in like the first/second week of November/mid Novemberish. Yeah, i just made that a word. :rotfl: First MVMCP is rumored to start on like November 7th. Osborne Lights should be running as well. So if you go week before Thanksgiving like we are, then you should be good to see just about everything with the exception of like the Candlelight processional, storytellers in Epcot and the tree in MK. We are booked Nov 8-17th. We will also be hitting the last weekend of Food and Wine festival, which ends Nov 11th.

Avoid Thanksgiving week. I hear week after Thanksgiving is typically nice too. We've done first and second week of December before too- and enjoyed both, although we got a really cold vacation in 2010- freezing! You can experience all the holiday stuff in December. Keep in mind POP Warner is there usually early December- last year was Dec 3-10. So you have to keep that in mind. They don't effect the parks all that much, but if you are staying at one of the values or moderates they are at, it is torture. I know, we had to call security on them twice back in 2009 when we stayed at POR and many were there, running around at 1am on the second/third floors playing chase, screaming etc. If you stay deluxe, you don't have to worry about them much. Just know what resorts they stay at and avoid those if you go at the same time! Otherwise, we love that time of year! It is a popular time of year for DVCers though- low points and great weather/crowds.

for a 6 night stay with free quick service would run about $1262.48 at a value for 2 adults. upgrading to regular dining would be $1461.08 for same 6 nights, 2 adults. so that's almost a $200 difference to upgrade for 2 adults over 6 nights. not bad. so like $17 more a day per person or so?

Thanks! Can you tell I wasn't a math major...LOL!??

My daughter will be just shy of 11 when we go...I can't fathom paying OOP for the dining plan. She's SOOOO picky. I actually think QS will be the way to go for us if FD comes out, but it's KILLLLLING me not to spend all my free time planning ADRs like I have for our past trips!

I figure FD would save us a big hunk of change

I am wondering though..... does anyone doe Fantasmic! dinner package? I was gonna do lunch at MM BUT the earliest lunch is 1:30. Our otheroption is 50's Primetime cafe. I really wanna do both of these plus Sci-Fi so I am trying to fit all 3 in somehow.

I know.....SOOOO much to consider! And let me tell you that girl can eat her weight in bacon....:rotfl:! With the exception of Coral Reef, on our last trip we had awesome food!! My oldest DD (who is the one I will be taking with me) still talks about 50's Prime Time, Tusker House, and Ohana.

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/ I have been on this site for the last couple of days checking out food!!!! YUMMO! Food is a BIG part of our vacations.... some ppl like the parks but I gotta have both :D
I follow that blog on Facebook! I swear I gain 10lbs just by reading it! :) One of my bffs is at Disney right now and texted me a picture of her Mama Melrose meatball cupcake. That was featured on the blog today!

I got lucky, as I actually did not write it down, but remembered the rough amounts for the upgraded trips, and had already figured out it was a 35% off discount before calling back in the afternoon. Guest services, while honoring it, seemed a little peeved that I knew about it, so I hope the first cast member does not get in trouble

Sorry about that :rotfl2: It was an old high school nickname that stuck with me, and so I use it for most of my board(s) interactions throughout the web.

Aren't most of the park decorations up right after Halloween since they have to have at least WDW done in time for the first MVMCP?

One of my favorite sites. I have it favorited on my links, and I figure when I get the Kindle Fire, I will get their book for the trip. I figure they might also be one of the first to break with news about "Be Our Guest"
