November 2012 Code Watch!!

Cross-post if anyone else is following the Oct Code Watch thread. But this thread is way more active so I want to post here, too. Hope that's ok...

I got an e-mail with a 10% off PIN for most Oct. dates. It's only Sundays-Thursdays. I guess that means that Friday and Saturday would be at rack rates. I don't know if I should book with that or hold out for better. Can I change to a higher % off PIN later if I get a better one? I know I could switch to FD if that came out.

I'm also not sure if we want to do Oct or Nov yet. When does the Halloween party thing end? My mom would love that. But Christmas lights would be cool, too. When do those go up?

Planning for a 11/24 trip. Was so excited yesterday when a disney destination email popped up (YEAH). It was confusing though. I called today and the CM said that it was for a free upgrade to park hopper and fun and more. Doesn't do anything for me as we never hop (just me and dd9) and that late in November not planning on a water park! The nice CM said though that the PIN expires on 3/10 and she would expect that something different would come out after that. I am really hoping for free dining of any kind. I really want free dining and then upgrade to deluxe since this will be the last trip before DD turns into a Disney Adult! She eats like a bird, so I would never consider dlx after turning 10. It is exciting that they are least starting to send out pins for that late though!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED!

Where do I put in a code on the website when booking a trip?

I am planning on staying at the BC the first week in November (haven't booked yet) and want to try out the H4A code because right now I believe I am paying $375 a night (but I also can't find the break down of how much the room costs per night... know how I can do that too? :rotfl:) so I'm thinking this could save me $70 a night!

Yes, if you receive a different PIN at a later time, you can switch. The last MNSSHP is usually on Nov 1st, I believe. They start putting up Christmas decorations shortly thereafter. MK's decorations usually go up first to get ready for the MVMCP, and the rest of the parks follow.

Pixie dust that you get the code you want! :wizard:

I don't know where to input the code. What I did to find out the nightly cost of the resort was to just price a hotel only package. It then gave me the breakdown of each night. From there I added park tickets and meal plan.

Good luck!

You can book that code now and they if lets say FD is offered, you can call back and book under the FD code instead. The Halloween party last day is the 1st of Nov with the first Christmas party about the 8th or so. If you are staying a week, you could plan around each event! HTH!

If you are going in the fall season you are paying $375 but here is where you find the pricing
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/re...es-rooms/?showYear=2012+Fall+Season+-+Weekday

You have to call with a PIN code. The only way to enter online is if you get it directly emailed to you HTH!:goodvibes

Arriving on Thanksgiving and leaving on Dec 2nd. Staying at the AKL. Here to keeping my fingers crossed for a great discount.:thumbsup2

So I talked my Grandmom into doing DxDP with us. I have to pay the difference split with my brother but its only $100 each. If we get FD then thats even better! It really helped me figure out our ADR's now I got them nailed!

Sunday-arrive/DTD/DisneyQuest
L: Rain Forest Cafe @DTD
D: Whispering Canyon Cafe

Monday-AK/DTD
B:Tusker House(Late)
L:
D:T-Rex(early)

Tuesday-MK/BBB/MVMCP
B:Crystal Palace(early)
L:CS
D: Be Our Guest

Wednesday-DHS
B:CS
L:Sci-Fi
D:50's Prime Time

Thursday-Waterpark/Boardwalk or Epcot if too cold
B:Supercalifragilistic Breakfast
L:CS
D: Cape May Cafe

Friday-MK/Pirate League
B:CS
L:Crystal Palace lunch
D:Grand Floridian Cafe

Saturday-Epcot
B:Akershus Princess Breakfast
L:Coral Reef(late lunch)
D:Via Napoli(late dnner)

Sunday-

I think its workable...only have one day with 3 sitdowns:)

Question: do you think this is too many buffetts? I know they work better with a big group. My DBro GF had gastric bypassand said she prefers buffets because she hates wasting food and she can pick and choose what to eat. Do you hink doing CP 2x in the week is too much? I know we would have been there for breakfast but I need something for lunch and reviews of The plaza rest are good....Tony's go either way, what would you choose?

Looks great to me!!! I think buffets are great for large groups. They have a wide variety so everyone can find something they want. I wouldn't worry about doing CP twice... they are for two completely different meals.

We are doing Via Napoli for our last dinner also. Loved it last time!! They have an Italian margarita that was hands down the best margarita I've had in my life! And I've consumed A LOT of margaritas! :rotfl: We loved everything we had, and the cute little Italian waiter... swoon! :rotfl: Our waiter was from a small town in northern Italy that I had actually been too, and I just loved the way he talked. DH is Italian, but he doesn't speak it, nor does he have the accent. He just rolled his eyes at me and asked, "Really? Do I need to learn to speak Italian?" Uh...YES! :rotfl2: :lovestruc

Now we just need free dining to be released!! :wizard:

I agree about Crystal Palace. I love eating there and wouldn't mind going twice in one trip.

I'm actually torn between Crystal Palace and the Grand Floridian character breakfast for this trip. We LOOOVE the Mad Hatter. I'm pretty sure we're going to do Hollywood and Vine for my four year (thanks for the tip from this group about Jake and the Neverland Pirates!) We're OOP this year, so I don't think we'll want to do a third character meal.

But then I'll miss going to Crystal Palace.

What to do? I'm pondering it.

I say if it's within your budget, and your family enjoys it, then do it! :thumbsup2

So what actually goes on at the character meals? Are characters just walking around to the tables or is it more than that? I missed it - what about Jake and the Neverelad Pirates? My 4 year old loves that show!

At character meals, different characters walk around to each table, interact with the family, take pictures and sign autographs. We love it because DD and DS get to meet their favorite characters while we eat so we don't have to waste time standing in lines. I'd much rather spend time in a restaurant eating than standing in line waiting to see a character.

Jake from the Jake & the Neverland Pirates is now at the Hollywood & Vine character breakfast. The Einsteins are no longer there. I believe Special Agent Oso and Handy Manny are still there.

Here's a link to the list of character meals offered at WDW.

what is DxDP?

Deluxe Dining Plan = 3 table service meals (or counter service) + 2 snacks a day.

Hi Everyone! I'm joining in here hoping for a deal for November. Right now, we're thinking of November 2 - November 6th. I know the crowds will probably be heavy with Jersey Week and the week before Veterans Day, but at least it won't be super hot. I can deal with crowds much easier with nice weather. We can move our trip to the week before if we can a better rate for late October, but the kids would have to miss more school.

Anyway, we haven't booked anything yet. I was thinking of renting points and staying in a 1 bedroom villa, but dh does not like the idea of not having access to a food court. So, we will probably get 2 rooms at a value or moderate if we get a pin for a room only discount. Free dining would of course be great if the room discount doesn't happen!

Has anyone gotten any a pin they were able to use for November yet? I've only gotten a pin once in my life and it was for last year when we didn't go to Disney at all!
