I"M SO EXCITED!!!!! I just booked my trip! Wilderness Lodge 8-18th of November! HOLY COW!! When I called to book they gave me 20% off room.

NOw I just have to pray my boss gives me time off!

Woo hoo- yeah for the 20% off. When do you find out if your boss will let you off?

I am booking in about 10 days! We got our free QSDP pin and are getting so excited...it is going to be a LONG 9months.

Our pin is for October but we are arriving 10-31 so we just scooted in!!!

Ours came in snail mail today - and of course we had already booked our trip. But our travel agent is awesome and with AAA, so she called and got Disney to give us the discount. Just 20% off the room but every bit helps.

Now we shall see if free dining gets offered later.....I need every discount I can get!

And a ticker....hmmmmm.

That is great, you can usually have your TA add on the PINS even after you book. I think like others said, you have to pick one discount, either FD or the 20% off, I don't think they let you combine them/stack them.

I was wondering about "Jersey Week" affecting deals as well, but I think what might affect deals at that time would be Veteran's Day more than an unofficial exodus from Jersey

Crowd wise, our first trip as a couple was during the week of Christmas/New Year's Eve, so I do not think anything else could top the parks crowdwise, so I am not worried.

I haven't been during Jersey Week, but I did my research on it prior to booking this trip. I had considered Jersey week. This year, the days off they have I think are like November 8-9, which is a thursday/Friday. So a lot of families just take that M-W off too and make a week long vacation out of it, or they do a long weekend instead. So yes, that week and weekend could be busier. But from what I have read on the boards, it isn't too bad.

If your first trip was during Christmas week, then yeah, you are good- nothing is going to be as crowded as that. I know, I've worked that week as a CM, it is insane! So don't fret too much about Jersey Week. Just be sure you use rope drop, fastpass and plan to do the big attractions earlier in the week. That weekend of Veterans day will probably be pretty packed, you have Jersey week ending, Veterans Day, last weekend of Food and Wine (avoid Epcot unless you are doing F&W!), Festival of the Masters all going on that weekend. So just plan that the weekend of 9-11 is going to be busy. We are planning some down time type stuff to avoid some of the crowds, although we do plan to hit F&W in the am on Friday and Sunday. The weekdays aren't usually that bad.

Have started making a list of all the things I want to make for the kiddos before we go to make it an extra special trip..my husband just laughs
* travel bags for the car
*shoulder bag for the parks
* autograph book
* welcome baskets for the kiddos
* outfits for both of them
* travel journals
* and the list goes on and on ..lol

sounds like a fun list of stuff to make! You will have to post pics of it all once made!

So is it better to book directly through Disney or an outside travel agent like Dreams Unlimited? Does anyone know if one is cheaper, offers more flexibility, more planning assistance etc?

I have boked through Dreams and other agents before. Dreams will let you do your own ADRs if you prefer. Like others said, I like having control over my reservations, so it just depends. It was sort of nice having someone else do some of it. NOw we are DVC, so I always do it myself now.

I have to admit I don't know how to put the ticket I made into a "signature" on this board.

I still haven't booked my trip. Not only am I waiting for a great deal (oh don't worry I'll book long before one ever finds me) but my boss hasn't given me the time off.

Then set it up- you will enter your travel dates, what you want it to say etc. YOu first select the background, then the ticker/slider, then enter your dates and text. Then hit create. Then you will need to copy and paste the code. YOu will want to select the PseudoHTML, UBBCode™ or BBCode . Hit edit signature on the disboards, then put that code in. and test. I think the disboards has their own ticker you can use too that might be a bit easier?

I am thinking about changing my dates because I just learned about "Jersey Week".

This is my first time going in November so I had no idea! My dates are right now November 3-8 or 9th and I was just informed that lots of families from NJ come down that week due to no school. I am so bummed that it sounds like it will be a busy week!

I really want to catch the F&W Festival so I guess I could go November 10-15/16th and catch the last 2 days.

Any thoughts or experiences with this Jersey week? Does Jersey Week affect any potential free dining offers? Are you guys all planning around it too?

New Jersey is the single biggest market for Walt Disney World -- you do the math!

I looked over the 2012 edition at the bookstore, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. If I remember correctly, the 2013 will be released before our trips and I figure that one might have more Fantasyland information. So I'm going to wait for that one.

Sorry I havent been posting much. Its been hectic! We have had 16 burglaries in my neighborhood in the last 3 weeks. Havent been sleeping much. The Police DID arrest them this weekend then because they are juviniles, released them but thanks to all our phone calls and many, many calls from the police, they were brought back in and detained yesterday. Aleast I can sleep a little better now.

I ordered some ribbon to make DD some hair bows, got Marion over on the DISign board to make an awesome AK disign for DD....getting soooo excited!!!!! Getting ready to pay another $500 on my trip!!!

you can't combine discounts! we went the week before thanksgiving last yr with free dining and we hit the last weekend of F & W and it was crowded. so, we are trying the week after thanksgiving this yr. hoping for fd again.

The Dis has been VERY SLOW at times. There have been times when I can't even get on. I am so sorry about the trouble in your neighborhood. I hope the litte (***** approved name) are held for as long as possible. No one should feel afraid in their own home.
Everything else sounds great. I am getting ready to make a $500.00 payment as well. I just want this trip payed off. Can't wait to see the hairbows.

I think waiting on the 2013 is a good idea! Hopefully more of the new stuff will be in there. Don't forget we also have new things like the Sorcerer's game in Adventureland that is beta testing now too.

Oh no, I am so sorry about the burglaries. I imagine it is very difficult to sleep at night, so scary. Glad they are detaining them for now. Will they be keeping them and putting them in juvie or something? I hope so. My BF's hubby is a cop and actually patrols our neighborhood, so I always get the scoop on what is going on, which is good, but sometimes scary.....there is a lot you never hear about and might wish you hadn't!

yeah for paying more off on the trip!!! I am dreading finding a flight. I know it is going to cost an arm and a leg. Last year we found tickets for $330, one stop in, but direct home. Pricey, considering we fly out of DFW, so there are lots of choices typically, but everything was $$$$$$. Our rooms are "paid" for, since it is DVC, although I am about to make our annual dues payment today (OUCH!). And tickets are going to be killer too. I'll probably order through UC to save a few bucks. But 8 day hoppers for 3, ouch! I almost wish I had a package, it sometimes seems less painful that way! lol
