November 2012 Car Rental Deals

Budget has the "Wendie" promotion again. We've been hoping for Alamo but they are out of sight for November 8th. But, we did get a compact at Budget for $179.00 total using their promotion. I'll also have to check out Advantage.

Thanks! I snagged an Intermediate SUV from 11/10-11/18 for $238.60. I'm still hoping for a better price but that's MUCH lower than I've been seeing!

You can add E-Coupon MUGZ029 for another $30.00 off and total will be $208. Note coupon is applied when you return vehicle.

Compared to the rates that most are seeing right now, $129 this early doesn't seem that bad. Keep checking back though. Most rental car rates drop within the 3-4 week period before your trip. That's when this thread will becomes very :thumbsup2 and :cool1: instead of :headache:

If I book this now, I can always cancel later right? AAA doesn't take a credit card when booking, so I'm assuming cancelling is pretty easy to do...?

And I'm very much looking forward to doing my own happy dance when I get a great rate!!

Thank you. I have a USAA coupon code that's $35 off!

Using Wendie code and $30 coupon listed above and got a 9 day rental from 10/13-10/21 at MCO airport for $245 for intermediate SUV w/ Budget.

Using KLM code and $35 AARP coupon ND3Z11ZDQ minivan w/ National is $367. (My husband is 51, so I signed us up for AARP. I'll have husband pick up car. I have an AARP spouse card but at 42 yo, I look about 30 so I feel really weird using it. :rotfl2: ) Tried Budget x474200 and MUGZ029 and rate was $415 ($385 after coupon). I can also take Magic Express, check in to resort then pickup minivan from Care Care Center and it would be $326 w/National. (staying onsite 1st night only then offsite).

Using Vroom 299851 and double upgrade coupon AU4234FDA standard w/ Alamo for $249, which I believe is a full size at Alamo at MCO. Anyone use this Vroom code before?

I have 2 kids in boosters, so 4 people and four 26" or 29" suitcases (flying Jet Blue ;) )
Which do you think would be better - the Alamo Standard/Full size or the Budget Intermediate SUV? Minivan would be plenty of room, but $100+ more - worth it?? Staying onsite first night so we only need to space for luggage moving offsite and returning to airport. (Kids and I can ride w/ ME)

Also, Budget allows a spouse to drive without charge, correct?

Here's hoping the rates get lower for all of us! At least these codes hopefully help for now.

Sounds like you need a minivan and with Budget using x474200 and MUGZ029 is $329. Spouse is free.

can someone list wendie coupon code please? and please note which car rental company it works for....

It's with Budget and it's connected to Wendie Malick. Just go to their website and the info is there. They offered this last year and it was a really good deal.

Thank you! Our plane lands 9 am Sat 10/13 and leaves Sun 10/21 at 1:45 pm, so we are being charged an extra day for the 3 extra hours :( Budget is $385 instead of $329. Anyone have any suggestions? I can take Magic Express to my resort, check in and then rent from Car Care Center from Alamo or National. Don't know of any such Budget alternatives that would not be inconvenient.

I just got a compact for 158. and change. using wendie's code and the coupon code on their website. For Nov 14th-Nov 21st. Not bad price. plus hubby and I can both drive.

"Your Alamo Number-xxxxxxxxx (save 10%)
ID 7014162
RATE - AW7 (US AIR - don't need to fly them to use)
CODE - AD2359FDF (VISA save $30.00 - $35.00)

Try this and report back to what you got."

I tried this and got a great rate, thank you!! however it says I need to present the coupon. Has anyone used this and not presented a coupon. I am nervous I will be turned away when I go to leave the lot. I usually pay online the day before I leave.

If you log on to the car rentals page on usaa they have links to the discounts. That particular coupon code is for budget.

Hi folks. I was following this thread and I would try a various amount of codes etc and I did find them helpful BUT, ....
the other night I was messing around on my computer and something told me to check out priceline.com and well, I am not the most computer savvy person around but I went onto the website and clicked for rental cars or whatever exactly the tab said ... and then i typed in (since im driving from Norfolk VA to Orlando FL) that I wanted to pick up at Norfolk Airport and it asked me the dates so I put 11-2 thru 11-11 and it brought up all the different sized cars and such and who offered what rate. I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw that for my time rental that Alamo with taxes and surcharges would be $246 for all my days! So I booked (and did not have to prepay) --- nor did I "name my price" or any of that .. it was just too easy. I called because I found a coupon in my entertainment coupon book for $25 off the rental and they said I could apply it at the counter when I go to pick up the car -- whooo hooo!! I would suggest trying that priceline and seeing if it works out for you all that way. Just saying, I happened to stumble upon it and without the great advise on coupons I would have never kept searching for the best deals! Thanks all!

Does anyone have any experience with Advantage auto rentals? They operate out of MCO and offered a great price on Priceline.

11/1 - 11/12 Full size car $229.00

Never used them but looks like a great price. Any coupons or promos used? Any restrictions?
